Great pizza! Had the New York pizza combination it was excellent. Service was good. After a long day at the volcanoe national park and your on your way back to the west side through saddle road this is a great place to stop. Small place in a strip mall but food is great. Seating inside and outside.

Pizza Hawaii is legit. Great pizza. Cool dudes. Awesome. Oh and the music they were playing was perfect. All in all a great experience. I’ll be eating here again.

LOL you know what is challenging? Trying to find a place to eat in Hilo on a Sunday, other than Mcdonalds! After searching Unilocal for a while we finally stumbled upon this place! Hallelujah!
I’ve heard the wait can be pretty long, but luckily for a small pizza we only had a twenty minute wait! We got the New Yorker combo and it was quite delicious! Really enjoyed the taste and freshness of the pizza. Between two people we almost finished the small.
I would definitely recommend this place especially if you need a place to eat on a Sunday :) !

My absolute favorite! I’m from Queens and their pizza makes me feel like I’m right back at home. Their Greek salad is amazing. A must try.

YUM! They did a great job! The salad was out immediately and quite tasty. EVERYTHING was fresh! I am a caesar snob… this was good. The croutons are perhaps the best we have had anywhere, hands down! They are very very well seasoned and perfectly baked. The pizza… I got the California and my hubby got the Meat. You could smell the sausage and the fennel in it as soon as it was laid down on the table. I scarfed my LARGE LARGE slice and barely shared a taste with my man! The crust is delicious and the fresh crushed-​tomato style sauce is what I use, myself! They did a smash up job on this. You will miss this place if you don’t look for it! We recommend it! It took care of the pizza craving we were having. As far as a couple of the comments about rude waitress… she was busy and at first quick in her responses. After that, she was extremely nice and helpful. She checked with us a number of times to see if everything was good and tasted right. We appreciated her no BS attitude. :)

Wait time is over an hour, even when it’s not busy. They got my order wrong a bunch of times. On a nights when it WASN’T busy I still didn’t get what I ordered.
I don’t know how I feel about this place…
I gave it a few chances but I don’t think I’ll be back.
The pizza and pizza-​bakes taste great but I don’t think it’s worth all the hassle.

My absolute favorite pizza place in Hilo! Their ingredients are fresh, the staff is always nice, and they always have good specials. My favorite pizza toppings are pepperoni and sausage! They used ground sausage instead of the frozen stuff. Definitely a must try.

I put off writing a review because I figured that maybe I ordered the wrong thing, maybe it was an off day, etc. The last 2 times I’ve ordered I’ve been so disappointed. It seems as though they don’t care about what the end product is gonna taste like. I ordered the magic mushroom pizza bake, obviously it tasted like mushrooms, yet I couldn’t seem to find anything inside that resembled a mushroom? So that was weird. Today, I ordered a Mediterranean pizza bake, and every bite I took was salty and I was crunching raw garlic. I also had NO chicken in it. It was overly greasy, and most of the cheese was on the OUTSIDE of the bake. My Caesar salad looked okay, except there were fresh tomatoes? Never saw that before; sundried tomatoes yes, fresh no. The dressing also doesn’t look like normal Caesar dressing, it’s orange in color (like thousand island) and there’s about a tablespoon in each little container, and 3 containers for one salad. I used to eat here pretty often at work because they’re the closest place for delivery and the food was really good. I called and spoke to manager Grant and he was very apologetic and professional. He wasn’t able to refund me, but he did give me a credit for my order. No backsass, just a simple «what can we do to make it right?». I’m pleased with the outcome, and I’ll give them another try, third time is the charm, right?

Excellent pizza… friendly staff!
My husband and I were craving pizza and were tired of the mediocre pizza chains. We decided to trust Unilocal to lead us to what we were looking for. After all positive arrows pointed to PH&D, we were on our way.
We arrived at about 2:30pm very hungry and looking forward to our meal. My husband ordered a Large Mega Meat and I ordered a Small Veggie, sans the sauce.
It took about twenty minutes to get our order (which I’m fine with) which we requested TO-​GO so that we could drive to the beach to enjoy our lunch. When the pizza arrived it smelled terrific! At the beach, we greedily opened the boxes and dug in. Both pizzas were sensational!
P. s. The staff was very friendly and we will definitely be return guests next time our ohana wants some ono food!

I ordered the chicken wrap on my first visit here and I liked it so much that it’s normally the only thing I order on the menu. With that being said, I don’t have many suggestion on what else is good to eat. But I will say this… The pizza tasted fine to me but I found it a bit unusual that my 6 yr old wanted to swap me his pizza (his favorite food) for my chicken wrap, after he took that first bite. LOL! I was a bit reluctant to trade but he offered his pizza and promised me 5 kisses for the swap. ;) How could I say no?

The pizza here are large and flavorful! The prices are reasonable for their size! Highly recommended!

We went here for a Father’s Day lunch. The BBQ Hawaiian pizza was excellent, as well as the pepperoni. Caesar salad split 5 ways was just right. Try the garlic knots… Mmm. Would be nice if there had been a nicer outdoor seating option. Also, pictures of tsunami destruction are a little disturbing to the overall ambience. Despite these things, we left full and happy.

Ordered a «Barbecue Hawaiian» pizza only to go home with no sauce on it. I called them to see if they could make my order right and they did nothing. The owner then tells me «next time don’t order the Barbecue Hawaiian!» Rude! No class! Bad service! Never going back there ever!!!

LOVE the submarine hoagie! It’s big enough for me to eat ½ for lunch and ½ for dinner. Just remember to check if they included the creamy Italian dressing because there have been times when it was forgotten & although the sandwich is good without it, I think it really adds to the flavor… and it’s s’posed to come with it, so hey…
Also LOVE the garlic knots! It doesn’t look like much, or it may look burnt but sure is one tasty little pupu. You get a dozen knots & ranch dressing for dipping for $ 5. We have brought a few orders for pupus when we go to friends’ and everyone who has tried them has liked them. They disappear pretty quick.
When I don’t feel hungry, I opt for the Side Salad for less than $ 4. It comes in a small clam shell take out container but I dump it into my big saimin bowl to eat it and my bowl is full.
Never ate there, always called ahead to pick up & eat at home so can’t really comment on the service. However, whenever we go to pick up our orders, whoever is behind the counter is always pleasant & friendly.
I had heard the place was sold but there hasn’t been any decline in the yummy flavor nor any «portion control» implemented so, it’s all good for us!

Absolutely NEVER going back here again!
First off, we’ve been going here for years and always had decent service and great tasting food. However, this last time ruined it all and they will no longer be getting our business or that of our familys!
We called in to place an order for delivery at 6:30 pm. The guy informed us it would take between 30 – 60 mins for us to get our pizza and that was fine as other pizza places take the same amount of time. Exactly 30 mins later, the guy calls back saying the credit card wasn’t going through. He had the wrong expiration date and so I gave him the correct one. Then instead of charging us the correct amount of our purchase, he charges a much smaller amount and literally says «i don’t know how to fix this, hold on». He sounded new so I gave him a little slack, but he could have just charged us a second time for the remaining amount instead of placing us on a «hold» in which I could hear him mumbling and trying to fix it. He then said «well i have to go get help to fix this but your pizza is done and will be on its way».
30 mins later (7:30) we still didn’t get our pizza. I called again and the same guy answered. I asked where our pizza was and he said that the delivery driver (Andy) was waiting for another family’s order to finish and that he’s «leaving right now».
About 20 mins later (7:50−8:00) the delivery driver finally shows up. We were pretty upset already at the long wait AND the fact that he waited for someone’s elses order to finish before bringing ours. We paid without tip and the guy went back to his car and waited in there for 15 mins! Like he thought we were going to tip him and we just forgot to do so at first. Not to our surprise our food was very cold, dry and had no flavor. I tried to call the restaurant to make a complaint but no one answered and their website said they were open til 8:30 so i didn’t bother to call after that time assuming they’d be closed.
The next morning I called as soon as they opened and one of the managers answered the phone. I explained the situation and mentioned that we were loyal customers and were very upset and wanted compensation for the bad service we got. He then told me that there’s not much he could do besides offer 15% off our next purchase all because I «didn’t file the complaint that night». I then told him i tried to and that it wasnt my fault no one answered and that the website told me they closed at 8:30 so i didnt try. He was like «well actually we’re open til 9:00 now so someone should be here and answer phones until then». I told him that’s not my fault because it’s not advertised so I didn’t know. So I asked for a different manager or the owner. He told me that Andy our delivery driver was the owner and he wouldn’t be in until that evening. So i asked him to convey the message and to have Andy call us as soon as he’s available. He told me «andy’s a very busy man and i dont think he’s going to want to call someone who’s only going to grumble». That crossed the line! So i told this «manager» that if he wants our business and that of other people’s he’d MAKE the time to please his customers! Hello thats Business 101! Then he said «i dunno what you’re looking for. Like i said i’ll offer you 15% off your next purchase but that’s it. I can give Andy the message but He’s a busy guy.» And then this jerk hung up on me!
So NEVER go there expecting good professional service. It wasn’t professional for the owner to «wait» for another family’s order to finish before delivering ours. Of course our food’s going to be cold but that other family’s one was hot and fresh! Other pizza restaurants state 1 hour until delivery but their food is still piping hot and fresh!!! And for the owner to not make the time for his customers is rude and bad business ethics. Such bad service and experience we retracted the purchase ourselves with the credit card company and writing this review.

Meatball Parmesan… good. Home made Fire Wings… ONO!!! Next time I go there I’m gonna try the Pizza, I can’t wait!

I had the pizza slice and side salad. I got to pick my dressing and went with Caesar. When it arrived, it was orange so I questioned it. Our server said they use sundried tomatoes to give it that color. OMG it was amazing! Had lots of garlic too! Delicious! The salad wasn’t just your average lettuce and tomato either. It also had mushroom, onion, green peppers, and olives! Def more than a side salad!!! Great price as well! Only thing was I wish there was more sauce on the pizza! Otherwise, it was ONO!!! Not to mention great tunes playing! Who doesn’t love some Sublime

Ordered the Mega Meat pizza, submarine sandwich, and pizza bake (ham, bacon, onion) as well as garlic knots. Food was delivered fast and tastes great. Would highly recommend this place for a bite for anyone visiting the Hilo area.

This place has really good pizza, probably the best in town! I love the crust– gotta have good crust! They don’t sell beer or wine but you can bring your own. The sub genius is huge and delicious.
