Byrne is a chic throwback to old school corner coffee shops. Delicious food, great music, and an adorable, homey décor. The service is phenomenal– they remember their customers and are always warm and welcoming. I go there once a week for coffee or lunch! So glad they opened up shop in town.

Fantastic new café! It is a little tucked away off Main Street so be on the lookout for it. It is well worth the visit. A great variety of options and everything we tried was exceptional and served with great personality and smiles.

The café is beautifully done in neutral tones that remind me of a beach side community like in the Hamptons. Upscale yet understated. Soft music plays inside and outside the restaurant in the built-in sound system. Seating, lighting, floorings, wall decorations are what you see in a home magazine, and appropriately so since I got to learn that the owner also has a separate construction and renovation business. Food is mainly soup and sandwiches, something light and familiar. I got the Philadelphia cheesesteak/egg sandwich and my daughter got a ham sandwich on a loaf. Both were delicious with just the right amount of flavor, not salty, not overpowering just down home comfort food. Service and food are similar to the restaurant chain Corner Bakery Café, where you order and pay at the counter, then given a number to bring to a table. Food is brought to you. Table clean up is done by the servers. I will definitely return. My only wish is the ventilation be stronger to clear out cooking fumes from reaching the seating area.

My fiancé and I finally checked out this place on a Wednesday night, despite being turned off by the creepy mannequin outside that holds the open/closed sign. They did a great job renovating the interior; however, the place is small and has an awkward layout. It also has a random assortment of outdoor tables and uncomfortable picnic chairs with cushions I kept sliding off of. They had an all you can eat taco bar that night which I thought was strange but my fiancé loved. I had the cranberry panini which had turkey, fontina cheese, and a cranberry spread. It was very good but definitely overpriced. I think $ 8 for a panini without any sides or beverage is a rip off. At least give some chips and a pickle for Pete’s sake! There was also an A Cappella group that night, which was awkward because they were smushed against us and we were already all packed like sardines in there! The owner was really nice and courteous and told us all about the upcoming features, like ready to go dinners, etc. Overall, the food was good but way overpriced and I would probably prefer takeout over dining in due to its awkward layout/décor.

Went back to try the All American hoagie with an order of the hand cut fries. Very good sub. May be my new go to for hoagies. Italian People’s roll with a generous amount of cold cuts, cheese and extra toppings. Fries were fought over by myself and my kids.

We love this new addition to Hightstown! Beautiful, cozy dining area, plus a friendly and efficient staff. The food is excellent! We’ve had several meals there now and each dish was delicious(hoagie, pasta specials, dessert, wraps)…it’s all good! This has quickly become our new favorite place to enjoy a casual, relaxed meal.

My wife and I have been here twice. She has has the egg salad both times and loves it. I have had a burger and a curry chicken wrap. Both were ok, but I will be trying something else on the next visit. The fries are very good(tip: one order is enough for 2 – 3). Drink options are limited — all bottled drinks. The seating area is conformable and quite attractive. This is a nice addition to the area. We are always looking for new places to eat, but at many, one visit is enough. I think we will add this to our list of regulars.

The Byrne Café and Deli is a welcome addition to Hightstown/East Windsor. My wife and I stopped in for coffee back in October when they first opened. The space is gorgeous. The owners have many years of experience as builders and it shows in the high quality of the dining area(window seats, built in book cases, etc). The staff are helpful and welcoming and there is a family vibe! Since our first cup of coffee I have now been back three times. My daughter had the mussel chowder which was amazing and really unique. I got a pastrami sandwich on grilled rye with swiss, coleslaw and Russian… delicious. The star of any meal at Byrne are the hand cut french fries. They are lightly seasoned and are absolutely amazing. Not the frozen crap you get everywhere else. My wife got a delicious salad with freshly cooked chicken breast, nice fresh veggies, etc. On my other visit I got a turkey panini with fontana cheese and cranberry relish, again with those fries! Their baked goods are also fresh and delicious. Only slight area I’d suggest they improve are little decorative touches(right now lots of things just written by hand) but I think that is probably just because they are so new… frankly it adds to the homey feel. In summary, this place is amazing. The Byrne family make you feel at home, the food is amazing, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Do yourself a favor and check out this amazing place!

Simple tasty food, at a reasonable price, enjoyed in a cozy space. If I lived near here I’d become a regular. As a yearly visitor it will definitely be a stop every time. Bonus: managed by former owner of Silk City Diner in philly! Keep in mind: newly opened so be patient and give constructive feedback if necessary
