Food and all is good. My service was great But restaurant was not properly set up or knew how to handle my credit card with the chip or pin This is really ignoring considering the law went into effects in October 2015 Since this is very awkward and ruined our meal, putting us in conflict with Perkins Management, we probably won’t go back… at least until I hear that they are following the credit card fraud protection laws correctly

Got tired on a road trip and started stopping right off the highway for our last meals. This was the second Perkins we hit up. If our first wasn’t so good and if we hadn’t gone«off menu,» this one probably wouldn’t have seemed so mediocre. They advertise what seem like off-brand specials, reminds me a bit of my old hometown restaurants. My husband and I both ordered from the specials sheets. My husband didn’t like his chicken platter, I could only eat 1⁄3 of my fish entrée because it just wasn’t that good. If we ever really need to stop here again, we’d stick with the menu.

If I could do this review without having to put up a star, I would. I use to consider Perkins a great family restaurant. I would look forward to taking my family out and having breakfast. The first poor customer service experience I had in this place was a year ago with my cousin and her son. We were having a great time until my cousins 4 year old son started getting a little loud, what 4 year old doesn’t get loud? Of course we weren’t done eating and her son as a normal 4 year old child was having fun and being a little loud. Next thing we have the hostess come up to us and tell us to «control» him, of course we tried our best and didn’t succeed at it. The hostess comes back again and literally tells us we need to Shut him up or we need to go. As soon as she said we need to go, it of course bothered us. This hostess was very, very, VERY rude that she stood there as we got up from our table and literally escorted us out. It bothered my cousin so much that of course they exchanged a few words. I contacted Perkins directly and never got a word from them. I was very bothered from that day and immediately knew that Perkins is not a family friendly restaurant. The second poor customer service experience is I came with my family to have breakfast. We walked through the door and we were the only family waiting at the door. No hostess was present, and the rest of the«crew» were just«chilling» in front of the register of course just staring at us. We waited a good 3 minutes awkwardly standing there in hopes of being seated when finally the hostess strolls out of the kitchen stares at us and directs herself to the«crew» standing and talking and just staring at us. She finally came, said hello in between her teeth, my father says«No one is here to help us? What happened?» She obviously smirks and as we’re walking to the table one of the waitresses says to her laughing, «you should see your facial expression» I was not aware of the facial expression but if I would have seen it I would have turned right around and left from this restaurant. When we got to the table she settled the menus on the table and just walked away. I’ve worked in fast food restaurants and I know about customer service and I know that when I’m working trying to satisfy the customers need, I need to accept my mistake and apologize. No apology was given. I tried to give this place a second chance but every single time I’ve come the hostess and waitresses are very rude. There might be 1 or 2 out of all waitresses and waiters in the entire restaurant that can actually do their job right and give you great customer service. So if you have a 4 year old who wants to be a 4 year old I give you the advice of thinking twice or even three times before making the decision of eating at this place. And hopefully there will be a great hostess who will acknowledge you with a great smile waiting for you to come in to seat you down immediately. It’s very upsetting because I love their breakfast, but who likes poor customer service?

My family has always had good experiences at Perkins in East Windsor. Good consistent food. Really good staff and management. This is one of our«go to» local places. For me personally, I prefer fairly basic«meat and potatoes» diner-style fare. Consistency is key! Perkins has it. They do what they do and it’s done well. The Butterball turkey and dressing is a top favorite of mine. The weekday breakfast special is a great deal!

It’s a nice quiet restaurant, perfect for families. Service staff are friendly and get you to your seats and put in your orders pretty quickly. Food is mediocre, nothing amazing. I ordered the sunny side with steaks with harsh wife orderded a egg benedict. she enjoyed it. Food arrived just in time and our server was checking up on us frequently to make sure everything was good. Overall, 4 stars for a good experience. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a nice place to dine with family.

Love love love this place! I always come here for brunch with my friends and family. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is nice and welcoming. I love the Biscuit Chicken Sandwiches and the Build Your Own Breakfast platter. The food overall is 5 star worthy. However, the only thing that is preventing me from giving a 5 star review is the lack of professionalism and courtesy from the waiters/waitresses I’ve had the luck to be assigned to in more than one occasion. The waitress, I forget her name was downright rude and snarky. Is it because I am hispanic? She Barely came over to our table and had the attitude that she didn’t want to be there. Her voice was that of a chain smoker and she literally smelled like cigarettes. When I changed my mind on an order she started developing a stand offish attitude, and started flicking her pen, as if she was indicating me to hurry up and order faster. In a different occasion I was once more assigned this waitress, but this time, my friend, who is white was with me. This time she had a different attitude. Can someone please tell this white trash waitress we are in the year 2016? The waiter that served my table on a different occasion had an indifferent attitude and felt as if he had better things to do. He forgot to serve our drinks and had the nerve to voice his opinion over the amount of food I had on my table. As far as I’m concerned, the amount of food a costumer orders is irrelevant.

Horrible experience at this place last Sunday. My husband and daughter ordered breakfast(pancakes and french toast), the server failed to give us syrup. Meanwhile, my order was incorrect. She dropped off our food and ran over to another table to take their order. We were sitting there for a while, until I got up and had to go over to the manager. He was not very helpful and a little cold. By the time we got everything correct our food was not longer hot. Nothing was done to compensate us for this horrible experience. This is not the first time I have been there and it just keeps getting worse and worse. Needless to say this was the last time, I will be going there.

My husband and I stopped here to grab a quick lunch while we were on the go. I ordered an egg white omelette and when I received it there was a hair in the egg. So our waitress apologized and brought me another plate. No problem. Well half way through my meal I again found another hair in my omelette. So the waitress went to get her manager and he told us it looked it was a fuzz? But that he was going to take it off the bill anyway. I wish I would’ve taken pictures because they both were clearly hairs and insulting our intelligence on the difference between what a fuzz and a hair looks like was extremely unprofessional. Hair or fuzz it was still in my food and to make matters worse I am 5 months pregnant. I will never ever go back to this location and I would warn others from going as well as I now question the cleanliness of the establishment.

I don’t know why I always had a negative connotation about this place. Maybe it’s because the Dennys and the ihops in the area are very mediocre and every experience I had with them I somehow translate and bunch Perkins in the mix. Welllllll this is different. Perkins at East Windsor is a nice average diner feel with a menu that is quite expansive with quick and reliable service. For twenty bucks, me and my girlfriend ordered a Combination of 5 eggs, 6 bacon, 2 toast, 4 pancakes, 2 orders of tots, large chocolate milk and a pot of coffee. It was all delicious. Compared to the Dennys and ihops of the world, Perkins is the best. But compare that to the Americana down the street and you have some interesting competition. Americans may have a more prestigious look and feel. But the quality and quantity you get per dollar… i vote Perkins. Highly underrated and will be coming much more frequent

Just ate here. I had two eggs with sausage links, hash browns and toast. My boyfriend had the same but french toast instead of regular toast. Our food was terrible. The sausage links were way too salty and the hash browns were hard!!! It seems as if they cook it yesterday and they just reheated them. It was like eating raw pasta. Im a huge fan of french toast but the ones we got were horrible. No taste at all. I did not enjoy my meal here. I will be moving in the area soon and I would prefer to starve than eating here again.

I went to this establishment to grab breakfast just before I had a meeting. As soon as you enter the restaurant you are greeted and promptly seated. The restaurant has a very old feel to it but seeing the location and demographics of the area, I think it fits it well. The waitress was very nice and was attentive to my specific order. The wait time on the food was about 10 – 15 minutes, which was very reasonable. When my food came out it was exactly as i ordered. The waitress periodically kept checking on my table to see if i needed anything. The quality of the food was that of a typical diner, so it was ok. I would rate this restaurant as follows: Service is 4 stars, the atmosphere was 3 stars and the food quality was 3 stars. I would definitely recommend this establishment to someone if ever they wanted a quick bite to eat. The views expressed are of my own and are my true personal experience at this establishment. My personal experience may not reflect this actual establishment, their quality or someone else’s experience at the establishment.

I don’t eat at Perkins. Let’s just put that out there, right out of the gate. I ate there because we had family visiting from out of town, and they specifically requested… Perkins. Perkins it was. I ordered the chicken & biscuits w gravy breakfast — I’m adventurous, don’t judge. Honestly, it was delicious. I practically cleaned off my entire plate. The gravy was creamy and had a nice spice to it. The biscuits were baked to perfection, and the chicken was tasty too. Unfortunately, our brunch lasted just long enough for me to start feeling the effects of my delicious endeavor. After eating at Perkins, I was sick to my stomach for close to a week — and I didn’t feel«right» again for about three weeks. Could be a coincidence. Could also be that I ordered biscuits and gravy at Perkins.

This Perkins has decent food. I like their selection of tea instead of a random brand of green/black tea. However, their service is either a hit or miss. I went there twice. First time experience was super but the second to time was so-so.

Perkins is perkins. A nice cleaned up version of dennys and ihop. Breakfast and dessert place mostly with lunch and dinner options thrown In. Friend liked their pancakes. I had a chicken club with French fries. The fries were delicious, I wasn’t going to eat them my friend wanted them but they were so good I ate them. The chicken was overcooked n a little dry which made for a over crunchy sandwich the bacon was overcooked so it crumbled like bacon bits. The food took forever to come out. The service was good. Very clean place and staff are very friendly. Prices range to moderate specials to over priced dinner entrees.

Excellent food and good service. I get something different almost every time I go, and I’ve been there about 20 times for both breakfasts and dinners. I like it better than the many nearby diners for the quality of food and will continue visiting regularly.

For a low budget diner type restaurant, this Perkins deserves 5 stars given the variety of choices and comfy diner-like ambiance. As a fan of eggs & bacon, they have great brunch choices, where pancakes come with omelettes!!! The ingredients may not be the freshest, but you pretty much get what you pay for(compared to the nicer brunch spots in Jersey /Manhattan). I have yet to try their regular lunch entrees or desserts, but they appear to be pretty standard.

Great bang for your buck. The food arrives hot and in good quantity. The coffee isn’t bad and the winter was very nice and humorous even though it was New Year’s Day. I got the everything omelette with hash browns, and the food was delicious. Omelette wasn’t quite as fluffy as they would be at IHOP but you get bigger chunks of vegetables and meat so you can actually taste more than egg. Overall a great experience.

No more cherry pie(on the menu but no longer served) & they forgot my soup again. Picture had fresh cranberry sauce but they use regular jelly canned. Lastly, it took us over 20 minutes to get the waiter to get our check and dessert(we even asked the bus boy who was cleaning tables to find her and he took forever). Horrible service, mediocre food, good pies.

First of the only reason this got a 3 star is due to service. The waiters think that they are better than this place and that customer owe them something. They ignore me completely… is it because I’m Hispanic? Hmmm but that’s not the point, last time I checked I am paying for everything I order I didn’t get nothing free… The manager was awesome, I think he noticed it and came straight to me and told the stupid waiter to take my order…(that’s right b*tch do your job)… Now the food… it gets 5 starts. I ordered the omelets everything in the omelette was delicious I got some coffee and orange juice really good also. For what I ate and what I paid which was around $ 15 plus tip(which the waiter should never have gotten) it was well worth the drive from where I came from. I do recommend this place to everybody even Hispanics

Went for dinner for my Daughter and dessert for my wife and I on Friday evening. Sarah had a hamburger, I had a Belgium waffle with chocolate ice cream and Sarah and Gail(daughter and wife) had berry pie. Food and service was great. Left waiter(young college aged student a 25% tip – that was how good he was). Since Friday night was so good, we decided to go again today for breakfast. Had to wait 15 minutes(hostess had time exactly correct). Perkins is extremely popular – it is always busy on weekends. We all had breakfast. Again, service was great and food was exceptional. We will be back for breakfast, lunch or dinner. So glad we have a Perkins in East Windsor.

Perkins may not be the best restaurant in the world, but this is a good Perkins. Sure you have the Americana nearby, but sometimes you just want Perkins. The waiters here are helpful, the food comes out quick, and you’ll pretty much get what you expect. As for Amy R and«kid-friendly,» every time I go here there are kids galore so I don’t know if she came on a weird day or they took her advice. I’d say this place is very kid friendly.
