Delicious delicious burgers!!! By far the best diner or restaurant burger I have ever had in my life. Classic flavors blended from that old grill have infused every patty it touches. This is now my workout cheat place because between the burgers, sherbet, and cheesecake you couldn’t be given a better meal if it was the last one you had.

I don’t know how there is a market for the new burger chains when the best burgers in the region are at the mom and pop joints like this. Burgers are great but so is the Ruben, the tuna sandwich or salad, and other American diner favorites.

Old school burgers made fresh, with a bushel basket full of skin on, hand cut, fries. Did I mention the orange sherbet? Everybody has a new/different twist on a burger. All good in their own way. Miner Dunn makes the perfect old fashioned hamburger. Cooked to perfection and served on a fresh bun. I prefer the Salad Burger. It comes with lettuce and Thousand Island dressing. There are at least a dozen other options, or you can build your own. I get the delectable fries cooked crispy. There are enough in one order to share with at least one other person. The topper is the orange Sherbet. It is soft serve and amazing. Just the right amount of tart. If you get vanilla swirl you have an instant creamsicle. If you have the opportunity to stop in, do so. It will bring you back to a simpler time. Even if just for a half hour break from your day.

The food is good and the prices are reasonable. The service is normally very good. I love the sherbet and ice cream. The chili is very good. It’s clean but a little outdated. The booths are very small and not comfortable if there are two people on one side.

Good burgers and good desserts. I’ve been there several times with my aunt, uncle, and cousins, and it’s a nice place to take the family for a casual little outing.

We love supporting local businesses, especially MD. They have been a region staple for years. Their burger and soup varieties can satisfy any palate. MD also has dinner plates, pies, and sherbet. You can’t go wrong at MD. Delicious casual dining at modest diner prices.

Back home again in Indiana visiting from San Diego. Coming here to eat is like visiting an old dear friend. I’m a burger person and this place is THE best of any chains including 5 guys. The staff are so sweet and attentive. A burger and fries like this would cost close to $ 20 in Cali. But no place I been to California comes close to Miner-Dunn.Its the people that will make come back.

Simply the most delicious hamburgers I’ve ever had. Juicy, tasty, and homemade. I worked here for a few years in high school and college, and now live in Los Angeles. Every time I come back to the Region, I make sure to stop by Miner-Dunn and order a Cheese Supreme with homemade onion rings. This is a not a five-star restaurant… but a very casual restaurant with great folks and great food. A must-try!

I would match this place against any burger and fries place on earth. They just don’t care about the PR/Social Media/Buzz thing.

Stopped here after leaving the shrine of Christ’s Passion and it hit the spot. Western burger burger was perfect. Topped it off with a price of pumpkin and pecan pies. Only reason didn’t give 5 stars is because it’s a bit old inside. I think the place could you a little updating. Recommend to anyone wanting a good big burger and dessert.

I remember spending my summers in Lansing, IL visiting family. We would go to Miner-Dunn at least every couple of weeks. The chili, the burgers, the sherbet were(and are) awesome! Today I happened to be driving back to Chicago from Indianapolis and got off on 30 to take the long way to 294. I was hoping Miner-Dunn would be open, but it is the 4th of July, so I wasn’t holding out too much hope. When I came upon the restaurant there were a few cars in the lot, so I decided to stop. I didn’t want to sit and eat, so I went to the take out side and ordered a cheeseburger to go. 5 minutes later I was sitting in my car with the gargantuan(I forgot how big) burger. The beef was perfect and almost crumbly. The thin slices of meat were seasoned well and the cheese was of perfect proportion. Maybe it’s nostalgia, but I think this is one of the best burger joints in NWI. If you happen to be in the area do yourself a favor and stop by!

I’m not a person who would try a new place out in an unfamiliar area, so this was rare for me. Finding this place on Unilocal & after reading the reviews we decided to give it a try! What GREAT tasting burgers & fries. They give you that homemade taste with a good choice of burgers on the menu. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone who loves good homemade burgers & fries. The ice cream dreamsicle at the end of your meal will hit home plate! A place for the family!

Great Major Dunn Burger! Service was a bit on the slow side and there was a large family who was very loud that made it almost hard to hear the person with me. The burger made up for the slow service.

You can find good hamburgers at many places in NW Indiana, but I think Miner-Dunn has the best ones. They offer a variety of options, like a cheeseburger or bacon burger, but the proof is in the basic hamburger. It is a nice, large burger with crispy edges, not too thick but not thin enough to need two patties. Of course, you can ad an extra patty to your burger for another $ 2. And the prices are not bad. The deluxe meal comes with excellent fresh-cut fries and a small dessert. You have your choice of orange sherbet, vanilla ice cream, or a twist of both. Not a huge serving but a nice finish to the meal. The whole meal, including the soft drink, was less than $ 10. A good value and great food. If you like plastic-wrapped desserts at the cash register, this is the place. Tonight I chose a large chocolate chip cookie over the large brownie.

Was just here again within the last month and found not-so-pleasant changes. One of the things I always loved about this place was the big, juicy burgers. I ordered my favorite onion burger on this trip and it just wasn’t right; the meat was a smaller portion and seemed dry. I just wasn’t enthused about my meal that day.

Old school, no nonsense kind of place. Absolutely love this place and it’s food. You almost feel like you’re walking into a piece of US41 history considering this place has been doing it right for a long time at a fraction of the price of Schoops(another local legend that is also delicious). the burgers are awesome and so are the cheese fries and Reuben sandwiches. Definitely stop in and treat yourself.

A great place for a good old fashioned hamburger. My boys enjoyed them very much and that’s all that matters. Their milk shakes are rich and creamy. Perfect. My wife and I shared a fish sandwich with chips. We really enjoyed it. We will be back. Our waitress was really nice and also the manager. A place that has been around for many years still making great burgers is a place to bring the family. We loved it. I hope you do to. Enjoy. #SenorFood

Hello, FOODSNOB here. After having Culvers, Red Robin, Five Guys, Meatheads, I think Miner-Dunns original 83 year old Burger is still the best in NW Indiana. With the original Munster Schoops a close second. Miner-Dunns fries puts it ahead. Simply Put.

I love places like this! I ordered the cheese supreme on sourdough bread with lettuce, tomato, and pickle. The ingredients are fresh and the hamburger patties homemade. I got my meal deluxe with a side of crispy fresh cut fries done to perfection. It was a nice change from the usual crinkle cut fries I find at similar burger joints. My favorite part of the meal was the orange sorbet. It was a nice and refreshing end to a delicious meal. The flavor was reminiscent of the Push-Up pops I used to have as a child. The staff was very warm and welcoming, and the establishment a little run down but inviting. I loved the 50s music playing while we waited for our food to arrive. I definitely will be back again. Especially for the homemade pies I was to full to try!
