Langels Pizza

This place seemed pretty good when I first started ordering from Langels a few months ago, but the food has really gone down hill the past few times we’ve ordered. We ask for crispy crust, and the crust is always thick and flimsy. It usually arrives cold as well. I recommend asking for extra cheese if you order, because they don’t add enough cheese on a regular pizza to cover the entire thing. Overall, pretty disappointing pizza.

I got so sick from the pizza here I couldn’t move for 2 days! Don’t go here! You will get very very sick! The best part about this place is the door out!!!

I am highly pleased with the effort that the manager made to service me and my group. We ordered a pizza and were mistakenly given the wrong size. I called and spoke with the manager and we were delivered a pizza to make up for the mistake. What a tremendous amount of effort she put in to make the order right!

Pizza quality is inconsistent, sometimes the crust is so thin and undercooked the slices just fall apart. I have has better luck ordering double crust, it seems to be more consistent and thoroughly cooked. I grew up down the street from this place and have been eating it for years and inconsistency has always been a problem. Not to mention the fact despite living eight blocks away sometimes they take up to two hours for delivery. The owner Rodney is a jerk who thinks he is the king of the world because he has a little bar and pizza shop. The service inside is very hit or miss, if they are even slightly busy it is horrible and often rude and unprofesional. The bar always seems to be full of people who think they are God’s gift to the earth, no other bar in town is a magnet for ass hats as much as Rodneys.

Pizza was terrible! NO FLAVOR! I ordered a pepperoni, mushroom and sausage — with the double crust, man was this a bad pie.
Pricey too! Its sad, that places like Domino’s and Pizza Hut, half the price and double the taste, can outdo these guys.
REALLY DISAPPOINTED — Especially since NWI Times’ gave them so much love … Chicago is ½ hour away, I’ll drive into the city next time I want good pizza.

Food is decent, pizza is good, wings are really good. Each month they have a special sandwich or meal which is usually good. Some of the sandwiches on menu are small. fries are small portion and not very good. Very little draft beer options on tap. TV’s are small but visible at the bar, one spot at the bar middle right in front of the bottles is difficult to see a TV. Service is fair. Mostly a local Highland, IN crowd middle class which is fine. Parking is not too bad if you park either on street or in a business parking lot. The owner expanded a porch dining on the sidewalk, then he took two street spots and put a sign for pick up. It’s rather arrogant that an owner can utilize tax paying city space and use it for his business.

Hands down the best wings in the region. They’re crispy, meaty, and the Buffalo sauce is the perfect level of heat– just enough to encourage a cold drink, but not so hot that it’s unbearable. The pizza is delicious, but in my opinion could be cooked a little longer. Easy fix– ask for it well done, and you’re good! Only drawback is that close up parking is hard to find.

This was my second time here and each time I come it gets better. Tonight we had a fantastic server. Her name is Emily, so if you want great service feel free to ask for her when you come here. The pizza is always swerved hot and the ingredients take fresh anot frozen as some have posted here. Appetizers are served smokin hot so leave a little time to cool off. I would definetely be returning to this place more often. The atmosphere here is a sports bar so be ready for that when you come.

The food’s good, and I always prefer dining in rather than delivery because I enjoy the atmosphere here. The seating outside is real nice in the summer, and the service is typically good.
Having just turned 21 this year, I haven’t been to the bar section much. From what I’ve experienced so far, all the bartenders are very friendly, and they have a good selection of drinks. I guess my only complaint so far would be that when I was there for my friend’s 21^st in October, they had run out of 3 different drinks I tried to order for him in a row. Was about to give up trying to order a drink after the third strike (sports bar pun intended).
Other than that, everything’s been great every time, so you can expect to see me back for some Blackhawks games in the future!

Stopped for a beer and sandwich. Seated by hostess and then left after 20″ after not being waited on or acknowledged. The place has been running down hill fast. Go elsewhere and avoid the confusion and frustration.

Service has gone downhill. Food looks and tastes like it was frozen, not fresh. Family and friends were regulars here at but not so much anymore. Maybe we will give another chance but not soon.

Our first visit here was a bit of a disappointment. We came in as a party of 6 and were promptly seated on the covered patio. Service was a little on the spotty side but unsure as to why since they didn’t seem all that busy. I felt our pizzas were «disconnected» in some way. All of the ingredients were there but it tasted like veggies, meat, and cheese on dough and didn’t really come together and blend with a special flavor or spices like we are used to at some of the better pizza restaurants in our area. Also, I can understand plastic disposable beer glasses being used in a festival but not in a sit down restaurant. I would perhaps give Langels another try but there are so many other choices in the area. I won’t be rushing back there soon.

Deep dish pizza with ground sausage was delicious! I got a salad as well and the ranch dressing was amazing. The waitress told us they make it fresh there. So creamy and wonderful! We were really glad we stopped in at Langel’s on our trip to Chicagoland.

Great service great pizza! I had a party of 12 and they accommodated us with no problem. The wait staff was attentive and took extra time with our large party and wee back before our beers were empty. Great place to have a party or hang out.

We decided to go here since we had some credit on Groupon and it was closer to home. Was leary about this place, at first, but it proved itself… and more! Let me go on record stating…“If you want to finally go to a place where the actual food looks like the menu pics… GO TO LANGEL’S!” You will not be disappointed AT ALL! We know that when it comes to cooked food, we first taste food by the smell of our nose, THEN with our EYES! After seeing this food…“THE EYES HAVE IT!” We ordered the Artichoke and Spinach Dip with Garlic Crostinis and it was a thick and creamy delight. Also the pizza was tasty (filled with flavor) and the crust was buttery and crispy! The sandwiches were a awesome surprise… BIG and hard to handle! That’s why give you the cutting knife and plus I love a challenge! I don’t know where they get these pork tenderloin for their sandwich but it gotta be from the high-​hog! Pork Tenderloin sandwich was crisply fried but wasn’t as tasty or flavorful by itself but with the special sauce and BBQ sauce it just hit the spot, along with crispy crinkle fries! The Highway sandwich (with two large fried chicken tenders, slices of ham and a spread of the Artichoke and Spinach dip, on a ciabatta bun was, as my wife says…“THE BEST SANDWICH SHE EVER HAD!” Last but not least the service from our waitress Beth was AWESOMELY FANTASTIC! Thanks for the service Beth! Great place to go and hangout with friend w/​o having to go to the city!

I like this place. Good food, good place to watch sports friendly staff It’s not just the pizza everything I’ve eaten at langels is good.

Tried it again last Saturday…
Same service, could not get our drinks refilled in a timely manner, our server apologized saying that it was really busy and the waitresses do not have assigned stations… She put it like this «it’s a free-​for-​all here»
Very disappointed did not leave tip again, I hate not leaving a gratuity because I know these workers make their living off tips, but the service is just horrible if you’re not a regular, will not give this place a third chance

Went for a private party. Unfortunately, I thought the pizza – we ordered a variety of them from BBQ chicken go regular old cheese – had no taste and was cold even when it easy just brought out. The mostaccoli was OK and the fried chicken was burnt. In addition, the sausage was undercooked. Overall, a terrible experience. The reason why they’re getting an extra star is the server. I don’t remember her name, but she was very attentive and great. Sadly, it was a disappointing trip to a place I have gotten delivery pizza from and enjoyed in the past.

Used to love Langel’s for their pizza. Liked it so well that I ordered a giant pizza for last Saturday afternoon.
There was plenty of cheese on the pizza, as well as sauce. That was tasty. What is going to keep me away is their thick, undercooked crust. I have never left that amount of crust behind when eating their pizza. I cannot tolerate undercooked dough, and that’s what I certainly had here.

Not too bad. We did the buffet and everything was pretty good. Some of the pizza was a little cool but still tasted fine. The available salad was good and our drinks we filled all the time.
