Arrenellos is everything you’d expect from a hole-in-the-wall pizza joint; small pick up area, nothing fancy, no bull yet friendly staff, and a quality pizza. Arrenellos uses a sweet sauce and it’s no secret, they advertise this on their menus. If you are craving something sweeter than Aurelio’s or Gelsosomo’s pizza(reviews to come), then this will definitely be your spot. Disclaimer: this is definitely not for everyone. At least with some of my family, they either love it or hate it. Although I did not necessarily prefer the extreme sweetness, I can appreciate the well executed product. The first bite from the outside is overwhelming with the sweet sauce where it is not balanced with the generous amount of cheese(aka the area where the cheese separated from the crust shown in the picture posted). However, as I moved inward toward the center, I found that the sweetness subsided and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cheese has a nice smooth melt that’s not too salty, but enough to balance the sweetness of the sauce. There is quite a bit of sauce on the thin crust, as well. Pepperoni was pretty standard and added flavor, while the sausage chunks were about average in seasoning. Crust is semi-crispy flour-based that still held its own toward the center pieces. Overall, I like that Arrenellos sets itself apart from other local spots and takes pride in its unique flavors. This will be added to my craving list; not necessarily a «go-to spot», but one that I’ll revisit when I have a taste for it.

Delicious pizza with a sweet sauce. Thin crust is the way to go! Seems to be a request anytime out of town guests come in and want pizza.

I’ve been eating here for about 17 years and maybe a couple times a year. The staff has always been kind and once when I brought an expired coupon they gave me a current one. They’ve given me the wrong pizza a few times but they’ve always offered a free one in its place when we call to explain. I give Arrenello’s four stars but only because of price. The pizzas are very thin so it’s hard to justify the price of their thin crust. You pay $ 27 for a family size with one ingredient. But their flavor is unmatched so sometimes one is willing to pay more to get it. Typically we get the stuffed pizza because the pricing makes more sense for how much food you get. If I pay a lot of money then I want to be full. Even though we get the stuffed pizza, the amount of sauce can sometimes be overwhelming after a few slices(maybe I shouldn’t eat 6 of them). So that’s why we only get it a few times a year first because of price and second because it can be sauce flavor overload after a few stuffed slices.

Three strikes and they’re out! Too many stuffed pizzas with a bottom crust at least 1⁄3 inch thick, leaving no space for their yummy ingredients. Contacted them twice and have never received a response. Have been a 30-year plus customer and now won’t give them another dime.

I have been eating from here all my life, and yet have not thought about writing a Unilocal review until just now. Tsk tsk. Well, this place is certainly my go-to place when ordering in. They are pick-up/delivery only. There are no seats inside. So plan a day to rent some movies at home and order some awesome pizza from here! This is the most«Chicago-style» pizza place you will find in Indiana. I dare you to challenge that. They specialize in stuffed pizza and they do it right! Their pizzas are very saucy and very cheesy… exactly what a pizza pie should be. I usually am full after only two slices – it’s that filling! Their prices have gone up a bit in recent years, but hey, that’s inflation for ya. No matter, it’s a price I’m still willing to pay for good pizza whenever I’m in Indiana.

Ordered the Fettuccine Pasta with mushrooms and Italian Sausage sandwich. I called it in, an employee called me a few minutes later and informed me there was no more sausage. Ordered an Italian Combo sandwich instead. It was supposed to come with fries and a drink and they didn’t give me my drink. I paid $ 11 for the pasta and it tasted and looked like a frozen TV dinner that was microwaved and then served to me. Absolutely no flavor, it was disgusting. There are way too many things on the menu, that means everything is frozen. I heard the pizza is okay, I think if this place focused all their energy and sold only pizzas they could be a good place. I unfortunately wasted my money here and will never return. I prefer quality ingredients.

The thin crust pizza is not good. I like sweet sauce, but this is sugar sweet. Crust is like a soggy, too thick cracker — bad texture. And was greasy. Would never order again. They get 2 stars for the Italian Salad though — nice veggies, crisp lettuce, and good Italian dressing. Not sure why but hard to find a decent salad in this area — everyone seems to believe its needs to be smothered in fried croutons, cheese, or gross thick dressing — defeats the point of the salad! Arrenello’s has this part right.

Yes the sauce is sweet– that is what makes it amazing! It tastes different than any other pizza place out there. Incredible. When I was away at college, I would buy 6 of these pizzas at a time and bring them down with me frozen. You can’t find anything like it ANYWHERE. Keep doing what you are doing, Arrenellos! That is why you are fabulous and have established a great following in Glenwood. I WISH you would open up in Chicago and give all the tourist trap pizza joints a run for their money. And I would pay anything for your recipe! Yuuummmm

Best stuffed pizza I’ve ever had. Italian sausage is the only topping you need. The crust is golden and flakey, the cheese is gooey, and the sauce is heavy and thick. Yes, the pizza sauce is what sets the pizza apart. Instead of being runny, it’s thick — tomato paste consistency — and it’s sweetened with brown sugar. Yes, it’s very sweet, but most pizza sauce is loaded with white sugar — which is milder and harder to taste. So to act like you’re gonna get a cavity from eating this specific pizza is pretty hilarious. LOL to the review that says they use«sweet cheese.» Honey, sit down, there are people who actually know something about pizza reading these reviews.

Absolutely awful! The sauce is cotton candy sweet. If you like eating sweet crust, sweet toppings and sweet cheese, this is the pizza for you! No stars what so ever.

We had just unloaded our moving truck and decided on pizza for the crew of helpers. This place seemed like a good choice due to the interesting sauce reviews. Since we were low on cash after relocation expenses, I phoned in and explained we r new to the area and inquired about any available specials. I got a blunt no. Meanwhile someone in our group used their phone to pull-up coupons for this place, but Analfellows phone girl said they only give those out after I buy a pizza. She suggested I could also get one out of a local paper?!! WTF, it’s on our phone screen! I had to get a manager override on that«box of rocks» policy. Thank you sooooo much! Even after this phone bimbo rang my order upon pickup, she carried-on her grudge like I was stealing from her baby’s college fund… clearly it wasn’t hers. Whatever.not sure what left a worse taste in my mouth: the horrible call-in, the«here’s your pizza, go #!%@ yourself» pickup experience… or a pizza sauce so sweet, even my dog wouldn’t eat the leftovers.

Nothing compares. By far the best deep dish and thin crust I’ve ever had. I’m not really a fan of sweet sauces in general, but Arrenello’s is just flawless.

This late night pizza place is WONDERFUL! The crust is always nice and crisp without the grease, and the toppings are always great. You pay a little extra, but the quality is ALWAYS there. Try it out.
