Stopped by for some sweets after lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Small bakery with one person working at the time, which made for slow service. But the person behind the counter was friendly and pretty efficient. A friend and I tried the lavender bubble tea, which had a great flavor and very well cooked tapioca pearls. No powdery residue, no hard pearls, this will be my go to for lavender bubble tea cravings. We tried the green tea Napoleon and the pineapple bun, both of which we enjoyed. Will be back!

Great bakery stores. A lot of choices, either for cakes or breads. There are bubble teas too. The hosts are nice! ;)

This place was so awesome under chef John. Heard John left and switched owner. So sad. Food tasted different now. But when John was here, everything was so darn good

I’ve really enjoyed their chocolate mousse and their raisin bread(give it a toast) is wonderful with bananas, pb, and/or hazelnut spread. The chocolate almond cookies are good, but could use more chocolate flavor.

Delicious! Excited that this place is just around the corner. Very reasonable prices, and perfect for a dessert for dinner at Mom’s at only $ 10. We got a Boston cream cake, and it was nothing I had expected, to my pleasant surprise. It was light, fluffy, not too sweet, and just enough crisp to the edges to balance it out. I can’t wait to get another and try the tiramisu(looks delicious and priced seemingly fair at just $ 20). When food is truly a tasty piece of art, it’s worth every penny

My friend got me a green tea taro cake for my birthday!!! And I really enjoyed the taste! It really gears towards the Asian taste. It wasn’t too sweet but sweet enough, and the texture of the cake was very fine! It had a good assortment of colorful fruits. Another time I went there with my friend. We ordered a tiramisu parfait cup and it consisted of brownie cake and cream. It didn’t really taste like tiramisu or maybe the cream just wasn’t smooth enough. It was still a good dessert! The lavender bubble tea was very good, I love the aroma of the lavender! The hardness of the tapioca was spot on too! The store is small and doesn’t carry a huge variety but the pastries seem fresh! Also the only accept cash for orders less than $ 10. Remember to bring cash!

Best place to go to for traditional Taiwanese pastries and treats! Great service. Love the owner! He’s very kind, accomodating, and considerate does and always does his best to put his customers first. My mom will sometimes call in the morning and ask for a pick-up order of two fresh loaves of wheat bread. They’ll arrange the order just so that it’s fresh out of the oven by the time she gets there. Also offers a selection of hot cross buns, pork buns, honey cake, zhongzi, bubble tea, and birthday cakes. **Offers the best and most authentic suncake I’ve ever had. It’s a small store located near US Post Office and Wells Fargo Bank in a small town of Highland Park. I recommend grabbing a dessert here at Tasty Bakery and then exploring the street; there are a lot of other quaint shops and restaurants.

Freshly made, although the types of bread are limited, but everything is freshly made from scratch. Will definitely come back to try something else.

FYI — The awning on this place still says«Lily Bakery». They may not offer a ton, but whatever’s out is pretty darn good. Had the pleasure of trying the blueberry bun. Light, flavorful, not too sweet but delicious. The tapioca pearls in the bubble tea are perfectly cooked as well. If this place was in my neighborhood, my thighs, arms, stomach and cheeks will be in trouble! You gotta love asian desserts. They’re not too sweet but still tasty!

Although a small Taiwanese bakery shop, the quality of the birthday cake I ordered came out really well. I was most impressed by how fast they were able to finish baking the cake. We called sometime after 4:30pm that day to put in the order, arrived at the shop by 6pm, and it was ready to go! We ordered the mixed fruit cake which costed $ 25.

I’ve only had their taro buns, but oh my goodness… one taste and I was craving them for days! The outside bun was slightly chewy and slightly sweet, the taro was creamy and lovely. Yummmm!

Ordered a birthday cake from here and some«sun cakes» as recommended by ppl… The birthday cake(strawberry sponge cake with whipped cream) is good but not great; definitely didn’t care too much for their sun cakes though… probably will be going back to LaBon instead of coming here again.

Note: I think this place is called Tasty Bakery now. It was formerly Lily Bakery. Love coming here. The place is a little small – it has maybe one table for 2? – but don’t let that deter you from ordering some yummy goodness from here. The proprietors are super friendly and helpful, and all the baking is done on site. Has delicious Japanese cheesecake, whoopie pies, new year’s cake, and assorted Chinese pastries. My family gets almost every cake they need from this bakery – birthday cakes, i feel like chocolate cakes, let’s eat something sweet cakes, etc. I also highly recommend their tai-yang bing(sun cookies?). In the words of my sister, they taste like happiness. nom nom nom.
