I should really give this place a zero star but I hope they get better. I found two or three hairs in my food which tells me that they were being malicious or their cook is some whack job. The items were not as fresh, such the oil, the veggies, and I even had smelly shrimp and meat here that were not very fresh. It seems something is going on here given that this used to be a great place for a long time. Update: Tested one of the hair, I can’t quite place it.

I love spicy food, but am very grateful that I ordered mild based on my date’s suggestion. My pad kee mow was delicious, with roast pork and shrimp. Super flavorful and also super spicy. I tried his turnip cake pad thai and really enjoyed it. I love turnip cakes and having it in pad thai — genius! Though we both ordered mild, mine was much spicier than his, interestingly enough. Points knocked off for inconsistency. Portions were large and we both took leftovers home. Definitely visit this place for a healthy kick in the mouth!

I use to have this as 5 stars, but, I feel like I have recently had bad luck with service and taste. I eat vegetarian dishes and the flavor is mediocre, and the dishes are a bit too oily. The service feels stand-off. The spicy levels have never seemed that consistent, but their explanation for it is confusing and we once some how said we wanted no spice instead of mild because the conversation was very round about and confusing.

Food is good, but under seasoned. The only way to get some flavor is to ask for some spice, but there is no consistency there. Sometimes the mild is inexistent, and other times it burns your mouth. I like spice, but I also know that thai spice can be overwhelming — it’s upsetting that you never know if you will enjoy your food either due to there being no flavor or because your sinuses will turn into waterfalls for the duration of the meal. They serve alcohol, though, and they have thai beer as well.

This place is amazing! But I should add a disclaimer that their spicy dishes are way too spicy(and I have a really high spice tolerance). Just order mild(even if it hurts your ego to do so), cause even the medium is too much. But if you get the mild, you should have an amazing meal. Their Peking duck appetizer is amazing as well and I love the noodle dishes.

Came in on a Saturday a little after one and the place was completely empty, save for another couple. But as it got closer to two, people started filtering in here and there. To start, we ordered the Thai spring rolls with ground pork. I didn’t taste any pork in there. It seemed more like a vegetable spring roll. It was fried perfectly, so I’ll give them that. The dipping sauce it came with was unimpressive. Tasted like any store bought duck sauce. For my entrée, I was with the Pad Thai. The consistency of the noodles was good but the dish overall was too sweet. They do give you a heaping portion, although I’m not sure if that was necessarily a good thing in this case. My boyfriend ordered the Kao Pad Pad Thai. This is basically Pad Thai but instead of noodles, it’s fried rice. The rice was a bit mushy. But it’s a cool idea! I’ve never seen a fried rice version of Pad Thai anywhere. I think this dish has potential. The flavor tasted better than my Pad Thai. Then again, he also ordered a medium spice level vs my mild. Be careful with this — even medium had me chugging water. Mild is great if you like spicy but not too spicy. We also ordered the Neau Yang, which is Thai-style BBQ beef. This, like their other dishes also came as a huge portion. But I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn’t overcooked, since I really liked the flavor of it. They have a full bar and their cocktails are about $ 7. They’re really sweet but they’re also really strong, so tread carefully! I’ve had way better Thai food anywhere else, so I won’t be back — especially since we were only just in town for the day. Otherwise, I’d be going out of the way for mediocre food. No thank you!

I came here once and ordered duck with flat noodles and it was very greasy and tasteless. The food took quite some time to come out. The food is lacking in key components: salt, acid, sweetness. I don’t think I would come back. As someone who LOVES Thai food this place was a total miss. Check out Rice Factory for a great meal with a nice atmosphere. This place is very dim and dreary, like you’re eating in a Vietnamese funeral home…

It’s been at least 7 or 8 years since I ate here last. Back then I had ordered a dish that featured young thai peppercorns. When it arrived, there was not a single peppercorn to be found. When I inquired, I was told(rather defensively) that«everyone knows we are having problems getting peppercorn». uhhhh… ok, somehow I missed the memo. Perhaps you should have been explained this when I ordered specifically because of the featured ingredient… because without it, it is just a plain mixed vegetable curry, and a bland one at that. So having not been back in all these years I decided to give it another try. We ordered spring rolls for an appetizer, which had a strange smokey flavor and smell which I’ve never encountered in a spring roll… it didn’t really appeal to either of us. The filling looked to be mostly cabbage or bean thread and without flavor. We had to drown it in the dipping sauce to mask the smokiness and make it somewhat appealing. The dipping sauce had a color, taste and texture similar to the duck sauce served in cheap Chinese restaurants with their fried noodles. On to the main course… I decided to avoid the peppercorn dish(just in case) and ordered a pumpkin/potato curry. My friend was excited to see a yam curry and ordered that. Well, the food arrived, and lo and behold… not a single piece of yam in the curry! Keep in mind, yam was listed as the first ingredient. When we asked where the yams were, we were told that many customers did not like yams.(huh?) Seems to be a reasonable assumption that if someone does not like yams, they would not order a dish that has yams listed as the first ingredient to begin with. We were also told that they were changing their menu. Once again, it would have been nice to know there were no yams in the yam curry when we ordered. It looked like they substituted some sort of cabbage, which was in over abundance, And here’s the kicker… she asked if we wanted some steamed yams on the side. Huh? So you HAD yam, you just assumed that we wouldn’t like yam when ordering a yam dish. It became too comical to try and make any sense out of it. I was clearly in the middle of a yam/peppercorn déjà vu. So she brings the small bowl of yams which looked an awful lot like my pumpkin which was undercooked(as were my potatoes). I tasted the yams, and I can honestly say it was like eating a block of flavorless, hard, textured unknown substance. Not a hint of flavor, yam or otherwise, and almost raw. Bottom line, that sealed the deal for me. they will not get a 3rd chance. There are so many better choices for Thai around here that actually give you what you ordered and have wonderfully complex flavors. The food here was average, and that is being very kind.

This used to be my favorite Thai food spot! I love to start off with their spring rolls and fried calamari(I know, not so Thai), but the calamaris are delicious! Very meaty, flavorful, and tasty with the sauce! Then I usually get one of the curries(red, green, and yellow) or one of the noodle dishes(Pad Thai, pad see ow, or pad kee mao). My favorite is the red curry because I like the taste of the curry sauce and the type of vegetables in the dish! However, they give you dark meat, and white meat is $ 1 extra, which I would recommend. I tried it with dark meat once, and I did not like it because all the pieces of chicken were in irregular shapes, and that really messed up the overall texture of the dish. After visiting other Thai restaurants around the area and in Jersey, Pad Thai is about average. The service is great as the orders come out quickly at a timely fashion, and the waiters come by often to check on us regularly and to refill our waters. The ambiance is pretty, and the restaurant offers comfortable and spacious seating.

Every time we come to Pad Thai we’re treated to good food and an enjoyable experience. If you’re looking for a Thai food place — it’s a solid choice! I absolutely love their Pad Prig Sod Ma Kur(I get the chicken) — the basil gives it such a sweet flavor, and the chilies provide a little kick — it is delicious. But as I scanned the menu the other night, I couldn’t resist trying the Gai Yang(BBQ chicken). Wow — a new favorite? Might just be. This chicken was seasoned with a mouthwatering combination of spices and paired side of tangy sweet sauce that I used every bit of on the chicken and mixed into my rice. My wife had the Pad Ped Enn-Hoy(which I tried a bit of). It was also very good — a definite possibility for me on our next visit. The prices at Pad Thai are very reasonable as well — even with the Satay as a appetizer and two drinks, we spent just $ 41(before tip). Give it a shot if you enjoy Thai food.

Please note this rating is for the Tom Yum soup only. It’s seriously some of the best I have had EVER. They have 4 or 5 different takes on the soup, which is interesting and exciting to see for someone like me who just loves the stuff. I just had the Tom Yum soup with BBQ duck and it was awesome. Disappointed that the overall rating for this place isn’t higher; based on the soup alone, I’ll definitely be trying out some more food here.

Great food and ambiance! It was spacious and has an authentic feel in the restaurant. I ordered the pad Thai and it was great! It was just right sweetness and sourness but also very flavorful. You can adjust spice level. The pad ke maw was so delicious. It’s their best. The green curry was ok. They had bamboo shoots, Thai eggplant, green bell peppers, and dark meet. I love their fried ice cream. It’s the best one I have ever eaten because the tempera layer is thin enough to enjoy the crisp and not too thick or over fried. It did not have the rancid oil taste I’ve experienced in other restaurants. I would go back.

Pad Thai celebrates more than 18 years at this spot in Highland Park. I’ve have had their take-out countless times. I’ve eaten in the dining room countless times. I’ve left the country, returned several years later, and found the same folks, with the same food. Their signature, Pad Thai w/pork is my fave form of the dish. Bold flavors, great textures and some soft crunch. Elevate the heat by code and take your life in your in hands.

Best pad Thai in New Jersey. Try it with added turnip cakes– really good with the pad Thai. Red curry seafood soup is a personal fave as well. Not so much a soup as a saucy seafood and noodle dish. But great flavors. I love spicy food and I get the medium spicy level. Don’t be a noob and order the wrong spice level. Trust me when I say medium is very spicy. Most of my friends get the mild for spicy. I have had the spiciest one and let me tell you, it is a roller coaster ride! And this is coming from someone who lives by sriracha and other hot sauces. All I need to say is that this pad Thai is addicting. When I visited friends in Hawaii they even asked me to bring three boxes to go on the plane because they missed it.

Some of these reviews are ridiculous — clearly the customer is not always right… Pad Thai is awesome! I live in Highland Park and am grateful for good Thai food in the area. It has a huge menu that’s bound to please everyone — but can you people try something else other than Pad Thai? Seriously — there’s more to Thai food than that one dish. I’ve loved their calamari dishes, turnip noodles, green curry, etc. The veggie dumplings are simple but come with a great sauce, highly addictive. They don’t mess around with spices, so make sure you order it «mild» if you just want a subtle but noticeable spice. I enjoy spicy food on occasion but even«medium» is quite hot for me. Both delivery & in-house service is very good.

Stopped here on our way home from Atlantic City and definitely glad my friends took me to this spot. Great Thai food. Great Thai Iced Tea. The décor isn’t anything great but the food was good and plentiful, which is all that matters to me.
