I love this place! The staff is great, everyone is super kind, and they do such a great job with everyone! A big shoutout to Maddie, loving my new color!

I went to get a haircut, showed the hairdresser a picture of what I wanted it to look like. My hair looks nothing like the picture. It way too short and the stylist thinned it way to much. She also cut the hairs on the top of my head way too short and nothing, not even hair wax will keep it down. Horrible experience.

A visit to Chicago and what a worthwhile trip to Highland Park to return to Blue Orchid Salon and Spa. Just when I thought it couldn’t be any better, I treated myself to a great mani/​pedi and it is still beautiful after 9 days! Then, a facial with Val. I never liked a facial before, but I actually enjoyed her magic fingers on my face and my skin never looked better! Then, you will see how indulgent I was, I had a 90 minute Thai body work session – stretching every muscle in my body. Came in with stress pain on each side of my neck and feel so much better. OK, the final service was to cut my long hair into the most amazing bob. Even my crowd at Starbucks commented on how great I looked this morning. This was a big birthday treat for myself and can’t tell you how life affirming it was. I recommend this for anyone who knows the meaning of stress or to give as a gift to someone with a lot going on!

This is a review for Christina. She is absolutely amazing at blow dries and hair do’s. I’ve been going to her for years whenever I needed a glamorous blow dry or hair do before a special event. She is quick and always does a fabulous job. I always get many compliments on my hair after she styles it. I’ve followed her from her previous salon when she moved just because she’s my favorite.

There’s a lot of competition in the North Shore and it can be frustrating. Luckily I have found a stylist that I’ve followed for 3 + years. When she said she was going to a more upbeat and centrally located salon still in the neighborhood I was excited. Besides. There’s great restaurants near by. Christina does amazing work. Her color is always perfect and consistent. Her blow drys are the best in the business. Her cuts are always 2 cuts ahead so my hair never looks out of place or uneven.
The salon is so upbeat and the staff is amazing. They are a full spa salon. They do mani/​pedi, spray tans (which Christina does), waxing, massages and so much more.
Please make sure you see Christina. She’s great!!!

3 years ago I moved here from the South. I’d had the same hairstylist there for years, and the first 2 years I lived here, I struggled to replace her. Then Stacy came into my life. I swear I look 15 years younger after Stacy cuts and treats my hair. She helps me figure out what I want, and she tells me when something I think I want wouldn’t help me look my best. I walk out feeling like a million bucks.
Stacy also cuts my 6 year old daughter’s hair, and is always understanding and gentle with her. 5 stars for Stacy!

New to this area of Highland Park and was wanting a place close to my house. I made an appointment for color and a haircut and now I get everything done there. Everyone from the desk staff, to the shampoo person and the stylist were so friendly and professional. I have since tried every service they offer and can’t say enough nice things about Blue Orchid. I highly recommend this salon.

I was NOT impressed with this salon. First off its not a spa, for me a spa is relaxing and high quality-​this salon was loud and for higher prices it did not represent quality. My haircut was $ 65 and the lady cut off more hair than she should have and her response was «I’m sorry I didn’t know that» when I clearly stated I was trying to grow my hair out, one length in the beginning. This was the most expensive hair cut I have ever received and it was the worst I have ever received. Now I have to start all over in growing my hair out.

This is a review for Blue Orchid’s bridal hair-​dos. My niece got married last month and chose Blue Orchid for us to get our hair done for the wedding.
First off, I loved the décor. It seemed like either a new salon, or newly redone. It was fresh and clean inside, and very modern.
The bride, myself, and another bridesmaid had our hair done. Everyone’s came out great! Vicky did my hair and was a total pro. I am not a hair person, so I didn’t exactly know how to describe what I wanted, but with the little details I gave, she nailed it! I was so happy with how it came out!
The bride and other bridesmaid were also very happy with their hair, and I can assure you that our hair lasted all day and night! We had 9am appointments for a 5pm wedding, and our hair didn’t budge!
I was extremely impressed by how nice everyone was, doting on the bride and asking us all about her big day. I know she was very happy with her hair style from Blue Orchid!

Don’t let the website fool you! I booked a facial for $ 85. I arrived 5 minutes early and was left waiting because the receptionist went to lunch. The woman who took her place was busy chatting the whole time with another employee while I sat there in front of them. I only was taken care of when I spoke up. The facial was fair at best.

walked in to get my eyebrows waxed thinking this is a nice place, i don’t know what she did but later that night i have a huge burn looking mark on my eyelid, and they were not even. so sad

Was back in the NW burbs of Chicago visiting family and decided to treat myself to a massage. I was referred to Raisa and am thrilled that I listened! I have had chronic back and neck issues for years and have had massages at a multitude of places and I can honestly say that Raisa is the best of the best. She is very nice and very professional and when it comes to the quality of her massage I simply can’t say enough. My neck and back haven’t felt this good in forever. I highly, highly recommend Raisa — you will not be disappointed. Sadly, I don’t live here and can’t see her regularly.

I thought it was a very cute and comfortable spot. I liked my haircut with Laura. Although there are only two pedicure stations, they’re in a private area. I think it would be a cozy spot for two friends. It’s also nice that all the different areas aren’t partitioned. I like seeing what other areas are doing. On the main level, there are hair stations, shampoo and a manicure station. Upper loft level has color and more manicure. Lower level is the pedicure stations. Décor is lovely and modern. All the seating I experienced was comfortable.

this salon is so beautiful! everyone that works there is so sweet and accommodating. the best hair salon iv ever been to. stacy does my hair and she is absolutely incredible. i tell everyone about blue orchid! i will never go to any other salon ever again!

I really didn’t want to write a not so great review for a new business in my neighborhood. I am all for supporting new businesses. But I think reviews should be honest.
Here are my thought on this place and the only good thing is that the staff is really nice and personable.
1. My nails look very armature. There are areas where my cuticles are covered with polish and areas where my mails have no polish. Day after had them done, looks like a week old. I am sure if I went in there they would offer to repaint my nails but that’s really not my purpose here and I don’t plan to go back to this location.
2. Very few polish colors or brands to choose from.
3. My tech was pretty rough in my pedicure and even clipped my skin in one place.
3. For new construction place, the décor is really bad! Looks unfinished and what is finished… Not good. Also to have a jewelry table of someone selling their stuff in the middle of the floor looks really tacky. But hey if you’re not trying to be high-​end… Do whatever.
4. Pedicure stations are horrible and there’s only two of them. Although I was told that there was a mistake in construction and they are going to be fixed. But I was sitting in the most uncomfortable way for my entire pedicure. My water was also lukewarm even though I had asked her to make it hotter.
Staff was super nice and Prices are average. But you can get better in the same area and even for slightly less.

This gorgous space and is so warm and inviting both with people and surroundings! I have my hair colored with Kelly, who is a MASTER at her craft and I am pertty picky. She actually listens and delivers amazing color! Now to Robin, what a great stylist! I have long hair and was looking for a new stylist. Afraid of having someone «just chop length», Robin was reccomended and that I was not to worry. Wow, came out amazing! Perfect long hair cut! I would not change a thing! Place is gorgeous, filled with talent, who also happens to be very friendly and easy going! Can’t wait to try the spah!

LOXY IS THE ULTIMATE BEST EVER! She is a PRO with color/​creative color and cuts that make you look your BEST. She spent time in England; I would hire her as my personal stylist!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED… Reasonably priced; VERY personable and will talk with you about options and work WITH you for your desired result.
I am ECSTATIC EVERY time I leave the salon and can’t wait to see her again!
(I have long, fine red hair… and I keep it long…)
