What’s with all the pictures of fucking bands? Anyways, this is the closest approximation to NYC style pizza on the north shore I reckon. It is also expensive as fuck so shop the deals. Cashier gave me some ‘tude when I got an anchovy pizza but it’s just a bit of banter m8 haha

One of my favorite places to hang out. The owner is extremely nice! And they always make my pizza the way I love it since I can’t have mushrooms or sauce.

Ladies and gentlemen… this is what we call real pizza. Not the embarrassment of a thin crust that Chicago churns out with the toppings buried under the cheese and cut into a checkerboard so your fingers get all greasy. This is a no frills place, nothing too fancy going on, it’s about making the best pizzas possible. The balance of crust to sauce to cheese to toppings is great. And no detail of the pizza is overlooked, which happens so often at other places. This crust is crispy all the way through with that chew up top. The sauce is bright and flavorful. But the toppings were really great. I did one half with sausage and mushrooms and one half with veggies(spinach, red and green peppers, and onions. The veggies looked vibrant and were cooked perfectly. I only wish this place would expand to the west suburbs so I didn’t have to drive an hour to get there!

Customer service is terrible. They were rude on the phone after telling me I ordered pick up when I’m pretty sure I didn’t as I’m not a moron. But they treated me like one. If you don’t mind snot nosed pampered teenagers giving you attitude and underwhelming food. I recommend this place. This employee was working at 8:41pm on Friday the 22nd of April. Hopefully the manger reads this review and reprimands Dan and his attitude/work ethic. Thankfully Dan the delivery guy was clever enough to notice that the pickup order was in the warmer much longer than it should have been and was very pleasant and received a great tip. I will never eat there again.

Great pizza! We visited family in New Jersey and ordered ny slices to fix a craving. We ordered the jalapeño poppers too which were pretty good. Delivery was on time and the prices are reasonable

Pizza is a staple in our house, and New York Slices is a staple in Downtown Highland Park. We’ve been eating here for years, and we are regulars who enjoy their Thursday night pizza special, 16″ cheese pizza for $ 9.95. It feeds our hungry 10-year old boys for dinner, with one slice left over for each kid for lunch the next day. Yep, we’ve got it down to a science ;-) They have an extensive menu. They are extremely family-friendly with a terrific local vibe and fun weekly specials: Monday: ½ price whole pies Tuesday: Kids eat free(one child per paying adult) Wednesday: All you can eat slices for $ 6.95 per person(cheese, pepperoni, sausage) Thursday: 16″ cheese pizza for $ 9.95 Sunday: Sunday Fun Day, kids make their own pizza for $ 5.95 If you’re into garlic, you’ll love the pizza here… they use a lot!

The wings were glorious. Jumbo size, fried, and tossed in tangy sauce. The Soho Salad(NYS Cobb Salad) was a bit disappointing. I was expecting a whole hard-boiled egg and crumbled bacon. Instead, the salad was made in a big batch. There was probably quarter of an egg and half a bacon strip in my large salad.

Great new york style pizza. Giant, foldable slices with a really good crispy/chewy crust. Great selection of sides and sodas to go with your pizza. Plus, it’s all reasonably priced. The store itself isn’t much to speak of, but it has a some cool graffiti/murals and a few tables to sit and grab a slice.

I am from New York. The pizza is a close clone to NY pizza, but not exactly right. The slices are slightly smaller and the crust is flaker and less bendable. It was hard to really judge the pizza since we had slices which were reheated. For the price per slice, I think we actually could have ordered a full large pie, which we should have done. It was OK none the less and we enjoyed the slices.

Have been going here for years and this is still one of my favorite pizza places of all time. I generally stick with cheese, pepperoni or mushroom pizza and I recommend extra cheese.

Don’t waste your time! Ordered two pizzas online at 4 pm, went to pick them up at 430. Was told they had a ‘big order’ and would not be able to have my order till 545, really? What a joke!

Good veggie slice. It has the feel of a college place. Led zeppelin is playing. Random day time crap tv is on mute on 3 tvs. Fake grafitti décor. I like it. Definitely going to check out the ten buck pizza with kiddos some Thursday. I am grabbing my slice on a random Friday at an off peak time and the place has a revolving door of people. Might be hard to snag a table on that Thursday!

They have Sicilian slices so that is good. But as a New Yorker, myself, to call this place«New York Slices» is a stretch. Pizza was okay, doesn’t taste like New York and doesn’t do toppings like New York does. Doesn’t serve Cannoli like every New York pizza place does. I don’t think I’d go back and I definitely won’t tell people that’s what New York pizza tastes like. But for Midwestern pizza, it’s okay. The Sicilian was good(earning the 3 stars). Thin crust…

I wish this place wasn’t so dirty. The pizza is decent but I get sick about 50% of the time I eat here. Bella vie which is right down the street has great pizza and about half price compared to these guys. I mean paint the bathroom wall already would ya

I live in Deerfield, I have tried all the other pizza places, but this by far the best New York Style pizza I have had so far on the Northshore. I also love buy one get one free pizza Mondays!

Moving to Chicago from Baltimore was a big change in pizza. If you are searching for the east coast/New York style pizza you won’t really find it here but it fills the void.(Like wanting a Coke but settling for Pepsi). Barely any sauce or cheese. Also, they are pretty over priced. Needless to say, I won’t be going back.

I really wanted to like New York Slices. We were walking around Highland Park and saw«NYC-style pizza!» so we popped in because I love to fold and eat some pizza. The place had almost a Escape from New York chain vibe to it, with the mural spray painted walls. It was kind of cool. The employees were friendly enough and the place seemed very clean(some would say utterly un-New York-esque). Maybe that was the first indication. I got a slice of pepperoni for a little less than $ 4. I’m not going to lie: it was pretty disappointing. The pizza was thin, stiff, and not especially tasty. I probably would’ve preferred Sbarro, to be quite honest. Hopefully, they improve on their pizza but I probably wouldn’t return unless I was stuck in Highland Park with a thin crust craving.

I had to update my review after taking a group of students here on a field trip. I saw online that New York Slices has a special on making your own pizza for $ 4.99. Adam helped us out and he was awesome with our students. He demonstrated and assisted them in kneading the dough. He made separate containers or each ingredient so the students couldn’t complain that anyone for more. When the kids were done making the pizza they brought them into the kitchen to bake. Each pan is number I ensure students get the correct pizza. This also helped prevent any arguments. The pizza was delicious. The service was fantastic and Adam was generous enough to offer all the kids ice cream. They are super kid friendly. Service this great makes me want to go out of my way to be a repeat customer.
