My sister gave me a gift certificate that was about to expire, and after recently having some sharp tightness in my back, I felt like the timing was perfect & I was excited to check it out — even paying a few bucks more for an hour full body massage. You know those great massages from your past where your endorphins are firing hard from a therapeutic massage, or a pleasurable massage where you fight to stay awake so you don’t miss any of your 60 mins of pure bliss … well, this was not one of those experiences. First thing I noticed is that this is a more communal experience, with only pulled curtains providing separation while other massages were happening near by in large open room. It didn’t get in my way too much, but it was hard to be in the moment when at times you are listening to a client and masseuse talking 10 feet to your left. I’m glad I read a few reviews that said you are mostly clothed during your massage so I wasn’t in jeans and a heavy top. My largest issues was that few employees could speak English. Once getting to Port Clinton Mall, I called and asked how to find their store and they had to put a customer on the phone to see if he could help but to no avail. Asking random strangers walking the mall got me there on time. When I walked in and shown my room, I was puzzled. Seeing two makeshift beds, one bed 5 ft long, one 2 ft long with a bucket of water between then, I wondered how I was going to lay down being 6.3″. At one point I thought they were telling me they wanted my face in the bucket of water and it took four people in my room to get to someone that said it was for my feet! My masseuse was professional and very sweet — yet our language barrier made it almost impossible to review simple things with her such as being mindful of my recent achilles surgery and where I have tightness to work on — and most importantly, having her apply 40% less pressure. After a few minutes of wincing from pain, I asked her to ease up, only to last for 2 enjoyable minutes before returning to her Ninja ways. After raising it for a second time to enjoy a few more good minutes only to have her return to full pressure, I was resigned that I would settle in for a massage that rotated between pleasure and pain. When on my back, she played a towel over my face to focus on my torture, I mean massage. I was thankful so it could hide my grimace from either pain or complete shock, ie: placing my hands above my head and placing her hands over my arm pits and pushing down hard, to inserting her index fingers inside my ears and giving my ear drums a deep penetrating massage(&%@#!). My 2 stars go to how sweet my masseuse was, along with a great back massage with oils, along with a foot massage that was so detailed I started counting the 15+ different ways she was able to massage my feet. Still it wasn’t enough to give it a higher rating.

This spa is amazing!!! the«foot» massage is actually a full body, deep tissue, full body massage. The price is a fraction of other places, the people are wonderful and the massage is the best. I highly recommend this place.

I’ve been here a couple of times now. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it is painful. Not painful during the massage but whatever they do causes pain the next day. It’s not really worth it because it causes pain with whatever they are doing to you. You are better off going to Jia in Glenview, where it is at least relaxing and it doesn’t cause issues after the fact. I do not recommend even for the price.

This place is the best deal on the Northshore! $ 29.99 for one hour of an outstandingly effective massage. Not only does he work the feet he massages the neck, shoulders, arms, hands and back. Feels great! Left my clothes on. He uses acupressure and an elbow technique that gives instant relief to tight muscles. I told him about my plantar fasciitis he worked especially hard on that heel giving me that pain-pleasure sensation. My heel is better now. I plan to go weekly. Don’t hesitate— GO!

I’ve been here twice and loved it. The massage was great, especially with the focus on my feet. Love the hot water soak for your feet. It’s truly a full body massage. Wear light, loose clothing since they do the massage over your clothing. The pressure is quite strong, which I love, but I’m sure they would modify it for you if you ask. The cots are not in private rooms, but I found it to be quiet.

A little secret discovery in Highland Park a few girlfriends and I found recently. Looks a bit, odd when you walk in because there are small, low to the ground beds right next to one another, no separate individual rooms. They offer massages(w/your clothes on). We expected just a foot and back rub but what we got was a full body massage. It was good, wasn’t amazing but definitely relaxing and worth it for the $ 30 for an hour. Oh yes, you read correctly, only $ 30. I will be back. Fun place for a girls night out or even to go in a date(they close at 9pm).

I generally like these places, so i’ve tried several around the area. I just realized one had opened in HP, so I had to try it. Pros: –Good, solid work –Large, well decorated space –Courteous employees Cons: –My water was tepid –water for the foot bath, that is. –Air was too cold –83 degree day outside, maybe that’s why –Too bright inside –they have shades, but only the bottom halves were closed. It was midday, and although my eyes were closed, I would have liked it to be dimmer. –No customization seems possible –Cash Only. Although I like the $ 30 special: 20 minutes feet, 20 minutes back/body, 20 minutes neck/shoulders, the work on my neck and shoulders was so gentle, I could have done without. Maybe I’ve got the neck of an ox, but I need way more pressure than a single index finger can provide. I was happy with the other portions of my hour. I didn’t get any scalp massage though. If I could do 30 minutes feet, 20 minutes back and neck, and 10 minutes scalp, I would be much happier. Another place I’ve been, asks you about your pressure preferences in an effort to match you with the appropriate massager. Maybe that would be a good idea here.

I think the best thing I can say about this place is it’s an experience. For $ 30, I got a 60 minute, «full body» «massage.» Yes, that’s a lot of quote, but there are a lot of caveats. First of all, this is not like, a real massage, it’s like a nail salon pedicure massage, but on your arms and legs and back. it was frequently painful and at several points it seemed like maybe they were just digging their knuckles into my body. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t enjoyable, it WAS, it was just like, 70% enjoyable. Also, in the beginning when they rub your face, you are wrapped in a giant towel and have your feet in very hot water, so it’s warm, to say the least. But you know, it’s THIRTYDOLLARS. That is amazing. I wish I could have given a few more instructions– it’s one size fits all, even if you are visibly squirming, they do not change course. But that is part of the charm, I think? Everyone should go here. I want to bring all of my friends. It was weird and very, very close to wonderful. I will probably be back. OH, this is something I wish I had known– this massage is done when you are fully clothed, so ladies, I recommend wearing workout clothes– capris and a tank top, maybe? I was in a sweatshirt and yoga pants and wish I had slightly less on.

In SoCal, where I am from, places like these are thick on the ground. So when we(my husband is a convert) found this location we couldn’t be happier! The people are nice and consistently ask about ur comfort. Which is desirable in a massage. Although there is no real customization the therapists worked on tight areas when they found them. We will be going back regularly and have recommended them to friends.

We had reservations at 11:30am on a Sunday and when we got there they took us right away. There were not many people inside. The place was very clean, but there was an underlying odor, I couldn’t tell what it was. They started by soaking our feet in hot water and then proceeded to give us a complete body massage that lasted a full hour. This was 30 dollars– you can’t beat that. It would have been nice to tell them to work on a certain area more than others, but they don’t speak very good English there, so be prepared to just smile and nod. I would definitely go back for the price! Even if the massage isn’t a deep tissue, it is definitely a relaxing experience.
