I love this place. Unfortunately, everytime I would try and order food from here at lunch… They were not open!!! And this was around 1pm… their hours clearly say they open earlier.

I’ve gotten take out from this place several times over the last 2 months, and ordered the same 2 things almost every time. I have paid a different price for those 2 items every single visit. It should be ~$ 14, but I’ve been charged anywhere from $ 13 – 16. Once, the woman at the register tried charging me $ 35, and looked very confused when i told her that wasn’t right. It took 5 min of showing her the prices vs the stuff in my bag for her charge me correctly(i still have no idea how she ended up with $ 35). Also, you might not want to get the sticky rice. It’s good, but they give you a saran wrapped rectangle of rice that’s literally the size of a deck of cards. It’s probably about 1⁄3 pint for $ 2. All that being said, the food itself is very delicious, and it’s enough for me to ignore the weird pricing issues

I’ve eaten here a few times over the years, however my past visit was horrible! I ordered take out. It took an hour and 15 mins for my order to be complete. I ordered shrimp and mushroom in coconut milk with white rice. I informed the woman who took my order I am allergic to any red curry she assured me this dish didn’t have red curry in it. I also ordered chicken and jasmine rice. Well my dinner was completely incorrect, we rushed home and I opened the container and ate a shrimp from the dish with in 2 minutes my entire face and neck broke out in hives and I started having an allergic reaction. After looking at my dinner closer it was wrong and had red curry in it. The chicken dinner I ordered was still raw! I called to tell them, and the woman started flipping out screaming at me telling me to just shut up and eat the food. She then said pick out what you don’t like! I explained I’m allergic to red curry ! I can’t eat it and what I did made my have an allergic reaction. I told her the chicken was still raw! She told me to stick it in the chicken in the microwave until it’s cooked. Then she hung up on me. I called back she again started screaming at me telling me to suck it up and eat the food we ordered. Again I explained it’s not what I ordered and I’m having an allergic reaction to the food. She hung up. I had my fiancé call and she was like fine I’ll give you your money back. Our dinner was about $ 40.00, when we arrived she inspected the food and deducted $ 10 from it because of the one shrimp I ate! To top it off this place is disgusting inside they don’t even cook in the actual restaurant but in a garage in the parking lot! The department of health should take a visit to this place. Especially being I informed them of my allergy numerous times !

I have been eating here for more years than I care to remember. Ordered three lunch dishes for myself and my brother, Thai spicy. We got the drunken noodles, pad prig khing, and red curry, all«Thai spicy, not white boy spicy». All with tofu and no eggs, as my brother is vegan. The food was very good, as it always has been. And it was spicy, we barely needed to add any red pepper powder ot sliced jalapenos to it. In any case, I ordered a Thai iced tea and it was great! The thing is, I think the waitress made it «wrong»; with less ice than usual, and it was awesome– intense but not too sweet. I have seen several reviews complaining about the service. It is true that the staff is very lean– Ms. Mukda herself, her husband, and usually 1 waitstaff. This is not a humming Elmhurst eatery with four waiters rushing back and forth. So they don’t always have someone waiting at the counter. And when the restaurant is really full, which as far as I can tell does not happen often, they can be a little overwhelmed. Having said that, our service was excellent today. They took our order right away and we got our food within 10 minutes. I’ll keep coming back to satisfy my yen for Thai food when I am in the area.

Tasty but small and slow… slow… Slow… The chef’s special are always good. And I also love the coconut water here.

I am still exploring my neighborhood and this was one place I bookmarked to visit. We came in on a Friday night that turn nightmarish for the waitress. For some reason they are really uncoordinated and it looks like she was the only person allowed to serve their customers. She was very slow and at times confused. After the third table including ours her productivity went down hill. I ended up getting up and paying at the counter because I was sick of waiting for my check. The sad part was it wasn’t that busy maybe 5 tables and some takeout orders. Overall, the food was great. The curry and pai thai were enjoyable. I would skip the spring roll and calamari. Your typical pre-cooked frozen appetizers. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Not many options for Thai in this area. Walking into the place it was empty… not even a waiter. After shouted out for someone, a woman emerged from the kitchen. She was very nice and polite. The menu was average Thai food fare, and I ordered my usual salmon choo chee and basil fried rice. The shrimp were a bit small and the salmon didn’t have much choo chee sauce. It also was cooked with jalapenos which a bit different than what I’m used to and they didn’t include any firm vegetables(carrots, broccoli, eggplant) in the curry which made me think they were too cheap to add it. It was still good but I would have liked more substance. The fried rice was nice, but nothing special. Shrimps were kinda small. My husband had some pork entrée but didn’t know it was fried until it was brought to him. I think that’s something you should write in the description but he did enjoy it anyways and loved the sweet and sour sauce on it. I’m still torn if I’ll come back again. It wasn’t spectacular but it’s convenient and the prices aren’t horrible(60 bucks for 4 things) but if you are in the area and want some decent thai food stop by.

We came here for the first time and tried the Thai tea. It was very unique and delicious. Our dishes was hot and full of spice. For dessert we had their sticky rice and mango. Just like dinner, it was a home run in our book. Thumbs UP

First and foremost, let me say that the food is excellent. The food gets 5 stars, but the service(or lack thereof) brings it down to a 2 star overall rating. When you enter the small restaurant, there is no one there to greet you. On my last(and probably final) visit there, there was one other couple in the place. They looked annoyed for some reason(we would soon find out why!), and so, we sat down and waited for someone to show up. We waited for about 5 — 7 minutes, no one acknowledged our presence. Now WE are annoyed! I asked my wife if she wanted to leave. In the meantime, the other couple left the restaurant. My wife went to knock on the«employees only» door where the young girls had been chatting all this while. Our waitress finally comes out and takes our order. She then gets a horrified look on her face when she realizes that the other couple walked out while she was chit-chatting with her friend. Apparently, that couple got so tired of waiting for their check, they just upped and left, but they did leave enough money for the food. We finally get our food and then our server disappears. No «how is the food, do you need anything?» No refills of water, just the sound of crickets. We’re done eating and at this point, just want to get out of there. The girls are busy chit-chatting again behind the door. They can see us thru the window of the door, but they are too ensconced in their conversation. My wife knocks on the door again to ask for the check. The waitress has to look up the prices in the menu in order to create the bill; I guess they don’t have an electronic POS billing system like every other restaurant who does business in the 21st Century has! I’m annoyed and my wife is beyond annoyed, but she pays the bill. We leave and I ask if she left a tip and she gave them a $ 2.00 tip on a $ 24.00 bill. That works out to an 8% tip. She was way too generous. I would have put a $ 1.00 bill on the table to symbolize my frustration with their service. If I come back, it will be for take-out only. Again, food is excellent, but it seems that no one cares for your patronage. I don’t know how they have stayed in business so long.

Review is based only on the lunch specials. Came here twice; had lunch specials both times. Got the pad see you once and the green curry once. Both dishes are tasty and flavorful. It was also cheap; about 7 – 8 bucks without tax. But the portion sizes were pretty small for my liking. Thus, 3 stars.

Good quality thai food is hard to come by on The Island but Mukda does a wonderful job of have quality food at very good prices. The competition si pretty steep in Hicksville for cheap lunches but for $ 8 you get a massive portion and a side salad. Their padthai and drunken noodles are great. Large flavorful portions that can be as spicy as desired. The staff is very attentive and the food didn’t take long to be made and while there isn’t much ambiance to speak of this place has quickly become a staple of my lunch time hit ups.

Sad to right this review, as I did previously really like the food. Mukda is close to the office and we’ve come here several times. Today, for a second time, there was a long thick black hair in my food. When I pointed it out, they took the plate and said they’d make another. It was pretty clear the hair was removed and the plate thrown back in the stir fry for a minute then replated. Ate a few bites and left the rest… couldn’t do it. Friends were already long done, so we just asked for the bill. Still charged full price. Doubtful we will return.

Best Thai food i have had on Long Island, hands down. Try the Pad Ke Mao or the regular pad Thai. You really can’t go wrong with some type of flat noodles and chicken. You can tell each meal is prepared as you order just for you. No mass preparation like other chains. Food comes out HOT! The spices are excellent. The chicken is well cooked and seasoned. This place rocks my socks. Been here about 8 times.

I’m writing yet another review and the stars just keep diminishing. I’m conflicted. I love the mango salad with raisins, cashews, & peanuts. I also really enjoyed the spring roll. The Pad Thai with shrimp had 4 small shrimp with their tails on still & the noodles were quite dry. The curry puffs were not as good as I’ve had before & two out of the four were soggy. I stopped in on a Saturday night right before 6& although it was still early, there was no one in the restaurant. The woman charged me $ 37. I thought that was expensive but says nothing. Then I thought about it more & went online to their menu & added it up. Spring rolls-$ 5. Curry Puff-$ 6. Mango Salad-$ 8. Pad Thai-$ 11. That’s a total of $ 30. When did NY tax get so high that I payed an additional $ 7? Um yeah. Learn how to add. I’m not coming back anymore. There are tons of thai restaurants out there & Lemonleaf is down the block & just as good & always busy & doesn’t over charge. I’m sad. I’ll miss the mango salad but I’ll get over it.

Good, affordable Thai food in the Hicksville area. It looks like a dump on the outside but the inside is really nice. I ordered the basil fried rice and fried ice cream and both were very good. Yes, there is better thai food out there but if you are in the area, it is a good neighborhood spot.

After many months of not coming here., we went to all thai restaurants in Long Island and nothing could come close to it’s authentic taste. So hubby ordered to go and all of the items he ordered we’re spot on. Crispy duck in panang sauce, shrimp roll and shrimp pad thai are simply amazing., and it even taste better the next day. Service may be slow but very polite.
