Service is always excellent and the food is fantastic.

I think I really like this place. Pleasant décor, friendly and efficient wait staff and delicious food make this place somewhere worth returning to.

Great place to have Indian food. The only things I have ordered every time I came here was Sweet Corn Soup, followed by Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan. I was just lazy to try for new things. Whenever I came to Copper Wok, mostly was just I was craving for their Chicken Tikka Masala. The waiters are extremely nice, they are very attentive. There was this one time we dipped all the sauce in the Tikka Masala, and they asked the cook to do a whole new batch of the sauce for us for free. I thought that was nice.

Sadly, this place does not seem to be as good as it was. The buffet value has declined. Chicken dishes are still excellent, but lamb/goat seems to be MIA from the weekday buffet. Also, where less expensive neighboring places offer two desserts on their weekday buffets, Copper Wok just offers one. Also, today’s bhindi masala tasted more salty and oily than fresh, and one of the«chicken» dishes appeared to be more potato than chicken: such a pity where chicken is a strength. Even more sad was that this dish did not appear on the buffet until around 12:15. I am thinking and hoping that this was just an off day for Copper Wok.

Our second time here with a big family group, the food was definitely not as good as it was the first time, which was a year ago. We ordered ala carte items — the basic Indian-Chinese items were Ok — the sweet corn soup was great, probably the best thing we had — and the Singapore noodles were good. Lamb vindaloo was tasty and spiced well, but a bit too rich. The kebab platter was a good value too. Most of the other entrees we ordered were off by a bit — Copper Wok Chicken would have been fine if they put a little less sugar in it, the fish kebabs were fresh but rubbery textured — maybe they over marinated the snapper? — and garlic eggplant was way too rich and oily. The rasamalai was probably the best dessert choice — payasam was super sweet, and coconut icecream came with pineapple in it, which for some reason was over sweetened as well.

I’ve been to many different Indian buffets and this one definitely tops them all. I’m really picky about Indian food, even being an Indian myself, but this place definitely impressed. The food is rich and flavorful. It’s perfect for first-timers and seasoned Indian food enthusiasts. There’s more South Asian than East Asian food, so it’s not as «fushiony» as it seems, but everything they have is cooked well and tastes great, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant and I’ve been to many! The décor is terrible but if you look past the lack of ambiance ANDLIKESPICE, then you have to try this place! The place is a LITTLE inconsistent. I say a little because I’ve been there about 20 times and the spice level varies from REALLY spicy(just on the verge of being too spicy but it has never been inedible) to exactly the right amount of spice and then twice I was like«Is the regular chef on vacation?!» because there was very little spice. When they are«on» no one beats them so I continue to go back and really enjoy the experience. Just an FYI, I have only been the buffets that they offer. On the weekends, they also have someone making a fresh«pancake»(crêpe?) with potato inside that is pretty good. I don’t think they make them on the weekdays but I could be mistaken. Also included with the buffet is soda. They don’t make that known for some reason. Iced Tea is not included. The service is always excellent. I know there isn’t much service on a buffet but they keep the water glasses filled and are VERY nice. I’ve recommended this place to so many people and all of them have loved it.

I used to love this place, it use to be our Sunday lunch joint but that was 2 years ago . I am highly disappointed with the food, I’m not into the whole buffet thing if its freshly made ill eat it. We ordered the basic indo Chinese entrees most of them were swimming in oil. What the hell happened to this place? We use to have family parties here, they need to work on the quality of the food to say the least. I hope I didn’t go too far but I pay top dollar for food it better be good. I hope they read this and work on it promptly because masala wok across the street is doing wonders.

There seems to be 2 entries for this place. I’ll copy and paste my review from the other one to here. Be aware, this is not a chinese place, it’s an Indo Chinese place, which is a variation on chinese food developed by ethnic Chinese who have lived in India for generations. That being said, here’s my review from the other Unilocal entry for the same place, same address: 16 W Marie St Hicksville, NY11801 (516) 681‑1947 Copper Wok Categories: Indian, Asian Fusion, Chinese 6÷5÷2012 In brief: Fusion food good, Indian food good, thai food not so good. The food: the fusion indo-chinese dishes were excellent. you get what’s advertized. However, I decided on a whim to get a thai curry dish. Didn’t like so much. the service: Inattentive at best, but not too big a deal because we went on a Monday night, where it was light. We just had to stand up to get wait staff’s attention. will go back.

Highly recommended — Best service, warm atmosphere, spacious tables, good food and price appropriate to the portion served. Tried: Sezuan chicken fried rice(5⁄5): one of the best I have had. Hakka chicken(4.5÷5): delicious and was a perfect combo with the fried rice, hot Teriyaki salmon(5⁄5): just right and quite impressive for an indian fusion restaurant Masala tea(2⁄5): could hardly taste the flavor, disappointment Madras coffee(3⁄5): again sub par Would I go there again? Most definitely Overall: except for tea and coffee extremely satisfied Liked: Food, Atmosphere, Value, Friendly staff

They have some amazing food here. All chicken items are so tender and delicious. The shrimp appetizer(dont know the name) that has this reddish color was amazing. All Indian food was just go tasty. As for the Asian side I did not try it yet. Damn Hicksville and why do they have so many great Indian restaurants. You make it so hard for me to choose.

The review is only for the catering service provided by Copper Wok on my cousin’s marriage(not for dine in). So we had the occasion where we were supposed to get atleast 50 people. Everbody suggested and we zeroed on Copper Wok for the food. We decided to go in for the Indian Chinese cuisine for which Copper Wok has great reviews. The menu included appetizers withGobi(cauliflower) manchurian, Panner(Indian tofu, made from milk) machurian, Chilli Chicken and Chicken Lollipops and maincourse included ginger chicken, thai curry, chicken curry, chicken schewan rice and veggie rice. Everything on the menu was mediocre and nothing extra ordinary. We had great expectations from copper wok but we were disappointed with the food.

Copper Wok is by far one of the best Indian restaurants in the Hicksville area(and there are a lot of Indian restaurants!). I’ve been here for both the lunch buffet and for dinner and have been thoroughly impressed each time. Love that the lunch buffet includes a free drink(beer/wine) and they bring out piping fresh naan and chicken tikka for the table instead of letting them get cold/dry out at the buffet. Nice assortment of the standard Indian fair with a little bit of Asian fusion to kick it up a notch. Now I’ve got myself craving something spicy… mmm!

Came here during lunch on Mother’s Day. The wait was very long. Host told us it would be about 20 minutes, but it took around 40 minutes or so to be seated. Decided to go for the lunch buffet. They had a wide variety of food at the buffet. The place is supposed to be «Indian-Chinese», but honestly, it was all Indian food(which I wasn’t too dissapointed about). The food was good. Some of the items I liked a lot, and the others weren’t that good, but it was mostly on the good side. Their lunch buffet is normally around $ 11, which isn’t bad considering it comes with a free drink(even alcoholic drinks are included). For Mother’s Day, the buffet was $ 17(with no drinks) which is a little pricey for Indian buffet.

We went to this place for dinner a couple of days back on my colleagues’ recommendation and quite frankly, the place lived up to my expectation — not that it was set very high ! The ambience is nice, the lights are dim and you can have a quite dinner with family or friends. It’s definitely not a classy place, so even if you like Indian Chinese, I wouldn’t recommend this as a date-night place, unless you intend to send that message. They have bar seating at the back of the restaurant and though there were people there, it wasn’t that crowded but then again, this was an icy weeknight. Overall, the place was clean and well arranged, decorated with some sense — not over the top classy nor gaudy nor spartan. There seems to be some issue with the thermostat though cos when we went there, it was cold enough to keep our jackets on but the manager set up a couple of room heaters and it was fine. The food was tasty and in good proportions. We ordered the sampler platter for Appetizer and a mix between the classic Indian and Indo-Chinese. I liked the Coriander Ginger Chicken and the Schezwan noodles, though the Chicken Tikka kebabs in the platter had something amiss and I kept myself to just a half morsel. The staff was fine and was in line with the overall stature of the restaurant. It seemed more on the lines of a family restaurant rather than professional service. A bit slow at times but they got the message and once the food was at the table, our server was always around to get us that extra rice or ask us if we needed anything. I would visit this place again if I craved some indo-chinese around the area and I was just out to fill my tummy or a dinner chat with colleagues.

My wife and I started coming here when they became Copper Wok. I usually order from the Indian menu, which is usually good. Weekday lunch buffet is always a winner — they have a great selection to choose from. I’ll admit, the wait staff has gotten a little bit sloppier the past few times we were here, but the manager’s amazing and the food hardly disappoints. Looking forward to my next visit to Hicksville. Will definitely be stopping here to eat!

I really had higher hopes for the Copper Wok, and I still really want to like it but perhaps it was a «off» night for me and my party. We had dined on a Friday night and the service seemed somewhat confused and a bit out of step, as for the food it came at different times and was somewhat cold when it made it all out at once. The flavors were decent but not the best I’ve ever had, all in all it wasn’t bad but I will need to give it another shot. On a plus note they actually got the lighting down nicely! It’s dim and quite cozy feeling without being dark, that’s a nice touch.

I have been to this restaurant so many times now and I like their Indian and Indian-Chinese food as well as service to the customer. Ambiance is also very pleasant. Always came out happy with their food.
