All the times that i’ve eaten Bonchon, it is through carry out. Usually during peak hours, it will take about 45 minutes whereas during not so busy hours, it will take anywhere between 20 to 30 minutes. So yes, this is a place where you most definitely call in ahead of time. I always get spicy XL wings for a family of four and trust me, they will be the best hot wings you’ll ever eat! The only side i’ve tried from them is the seasoned fries which are good if you eat them as soon as possible. The pickled radish side dish that comes with your portion goes so well with the chicken! Overall, this place is a must go to. And if you are wondering why the 4 stars rather than 5; it is because of the pricing and the time.

Who doesn’t love bonchon. I only come here every once in a while because of the high calories and fat content from double frying their wings, but when I indulge it’s delicious. We always get a bunch of wings and do half and half so you can alternate between spicy and soy garlic to balance the heat waves. This location is tiny with like 8 tables so I wish the servers paid attention more in such a small place and would notice my obvious need for water… But that’s my only complaint.

I really hope these guys can get it together. Tonight I ordered 6 strips half-and-half. All 6 strips were under-sauced but that can happen to tossed bufallo wings elsewhere too. Two of the 3 spicy strips were on point but one was extra spicy. I love hot food and I just wish all 3 were the same level of heat, whatever that may be. Of the 3 soy strips 2 were excellent but the 3rd was tough as leather and I didn’t want to finish it. Bottom line: I want to like this, and want to support a neighborhood enterprise, but I always feel a little reluctant to return. I have a feeling a real manager in charge of the front of the house and the kitchen would go a long way here. Rumor is they will move to what was the chinese restaurant a few doors down but without someone at the helm I don’t know.

Not sure what happened to everyone else, not caring either! My service was great, and food was even better! With two young guys running the place the night I went in, they seemed on top of all to go as well as the dine in patrons! 5 stars on calamari, med combo half n half, and the japchae!

I dined in. Their chicken was on point and the seasoned fries were good. Thankfully, otherwise this would be a terrible BonChon. However, I ordered a bowl of rice to go with my meal and it was gross… it seemed like the rice was a bit wet and smelled/tasted funky. Like they hadn’t washed the rice scoop in a while? Did not eat more than 1 bite of my fishy, soap water rice. Beware, this location is tiny! There is a small bar and a handful of tables. We had to deal with people walking in and out behind us to get their to go orders. The service was also meh. The server never checked on us and spent most of his time on his phone at the bar. I’d only come back here if I was desperate for Bön Chon.

The BonChon in Fairfax is the best one. This place is way too small and their menu other than the fried chicken is just off and bizarre. I didn’t like it very much. Their seasoned fries aren’t as good either. They don’t even give out the sauce on the side for the seasoned fries either. When I came, I got the edamame, and the seaweed salad. My friend ordered the potstickers and they were okay. Your best bet is to just get the Korean Fried Chicken. But mind you, this place is incredibly small and crowded. The waiters are pretty good but I guess I’m just biased to the Bonchon in Fairfax. I really like that one!

If you want to order for carry-out, call 30 minutes in advance — this stuff isn’t fast food. The restaurant is very small with very limited seating — not good for groups. There is a tiny bar area with beer and wine. It’s smell great inside, especially if you like batter-fried food. Their seasoned fries were good the coleslaw was not. The wings were the stand out of our order. The BULGOGISLIDERS were okay. Kind of expensive for what you get. Not really all that special. We got the half & half sauce.

Great chicken. Love the atmosphere. One thing to note is they have an in house reverend or something like that I don’t know… He asked me if I have a relationship with Jesus Christ. «Bruh, I just came in for some chicken and fries. That’s it.» Classic. Still a great place though.

I was able to find an alternative location to the Centreville stop, as I was driving home today. Centreville’s Bön Chon phone continued to ring busy after 5 minutes of trying. I dialed up the Herndon spot and the guy on the phone took my order and quoted me 20 minutes. I arrived after about 10 so I squatted at the bar while I waited. Much of the day’s business was takeout orders, as three pickups came in for their items after I arrived. The two servers in the restaurant were friendly and we’re happy to chat while they worked and packed up to-go orders. The SoyGarlic wings are fantastic, the same recipe as the other locations, and equally as delicious. The pickled cabbage is a nice adage and I always eat it all at the end once I’ve demolished the stack of wings. I like the overall scene of the Herndon location better than Centreville, and will be returning.

This is the worst bonchon in Northern Virginia area. The food is different from else where. The waiters are so rude! I tried to order the food by phone today and someone picked up and asked me to hold up for one sec! Then he just dropped the phone and I tried to call back several times, nobody picked up! The waiters here are liars and I will never come back to this place any more!

I rate this a 4.5(This review is for Dine-in.) I have been to the Bön Chon in Annandale and this location did not quite meet the expectations of that location. The main reason is I found myself waiting for almost 35 minutes. The location itself is very small. There is very limited seating but that was not an issue at 9pm. The waiting staff is very alert and came by every few minutes making sure if we had everything we needed. They have a couple TVs and a bar area if you are just trying to catch a game. I also saw their happy hour menu with generously priced beer and rails which seemed like something to revisit. We had ordered the Chicken wings, Strips, and Legs. For all of them we did the Half and Half(Half Soy Garlic and half Spicy). The chicken was crunchy without feeling too oily and very flavorful. I was also pleased that I received wings that were all relatively the same size unlike some other establishments in which you may get a small deformed mystery wing. Overall my experience here was great. The wait staff was very nice and the chicken is cooked to perfection. I will definitely be visiting frequently.

So far I have only ordered take-out so I can’t comment on the restaurant experience. I do notice this location is smaller compared to the Centreville and Fairfax location. I always order wings and they have been fresh and delicious every time I order them. Try it out and you won’t be disappointed!

I’m a big Bonchon fan for years! These are independently owned so although the chicken may taste almost the same, appetizers and other entrees are different. Yes, centreville location has a lot of appetizers and they are my favorite place since Annandale one closed by but it’s out of my way. I’m still so happy Herndon one got opened up a couple of years ago. Chicken wings are always good and service is okay. I mean nothing was outstanding but have you been to Buffalo Wild Wings in Ashburn or wing factory in Reston? Lol to those who aren’t impressed with their service here, I strongly encourage you to visit other wing places I just mentioned. They are going to show you what bad service is. This place is small and has a cute little bar area too. I’ve only been here for lunch on weekends so not sure how busy they may get at night but times I have been they are always slammed with phone orders and oncoming customers. Their chicken wings are the best and so cheap! Who needs to go to Popeyes when you can get the same here! I wish they have one in Reston

It might be because today is a Sunday, but my service was great, the food came out really quickly, and the food tasted great. I’ve been to other Bön Chon locations, so I know the tastes. There was nothing I could find fault in when it came to their food. My mom, sisters and I ordered the seasoned fries, tteokbokki, and Large Combo. I don’t believe I need to go into details about how good the food was other than to say that they tasted like what you would expect(in a good way). The drums were slightly smaller than usual(which is my only complaint). I want to point out that I actually made a pretty ridiculous request with our chicken and they actually did it! I asked for 3 of 12 the wings and 1 of the 4 drumsticks to be spicy(exactly ¼th) and the rest Soy… It was ridiculous & honestly I was joking, but it happened and they did it with no complaints. I think some of the people on here are being a little much. Someone complained that her food wasn’t ready for pick up at 12:15pm when they clearly open at NOON. Other people are complaining about orders not being ready in time for pick up. The place is SMALL. With 5 tables and maybe 5 seats at the bar. If you’re ordering at peak business times, you should just wait. Would you rather go back to driving to Centreville? My sister has been here several times(a few times during busy hours) and said she never had a problem with the food itself. And she’s pickier and a bigger Bön Chon lover than I am. We have done take out from there as well but didn’t have a problem.

Went for lunch. Sat for 45 minutes. Never got my food. They never checked on me. We did not get refills until we flagged one of the servers down and asked for them. When we asked where our food was, he said that our order was canceled somehow. Never offered an apology or to comp anything on our checks. Was an absolutely ridiculous experience. I’ll keep going to the one in Centreville. They’re not idiots there.

I would never go out to Chantilly or Herndon unless it was to play a soccer game… That said, I drove out here on a Friday around 1:30pm to meet up with a friend who was visiting family in the area. I think the the main lunch crowd was already gone, so it was a perfect setting for us. My friend who had a four year old and an 18 month year old. The servers were nice, and one got a highchair and booster for us. We ordered drums and wings, ½ and ½…SUPER tasty — crispy outside, tender inside. Bulgogi, coleslaw. Bulgogi, portion was HUGE. Coleslaw portion was tiny. Everything tasted great, so maybe go when it’s not rush-hours.

Surprisingly good and quick on a Saturday lunch– they must’ve had piles of fried chicken already in the fryer because our wait was maybe ten minutes, tops? Reasonably sized inside, but definitely a bit crowded when all the tables are full. Service is quite decent, and the chicken is typical Bonchon– quite good for the soy and garlic, you’d better like a little heat if you like the hot(not bad tho). The only really mediocre thing was the salad we had…

BonChon is the Peking Duck of chicken wings. I was hesitant to try this location based on the reviews, but it’s so close to my house and when you’re jonesing for BonChon, nothing else will do! My fears were alleviated with my first visit. My carry out order was available immediately when I arrived and the wings were of comparable sizes to other locations. The space is small, but clean, and I think it feels a bit like a Japanese noodle shop. True story: I had a dream about BonChon wings that very same night. These things are crack.

I finally came here after hearing all of my friends tell me how good it is for the past 2 years. I ordered dumplings, drumsticks and chicken tenders. I got ½ and ½ for all orders. First of all, I was confused about ½ and ½. They have 2 flavors, soy garlic and spicy. I thought ½&1/2 meant they mixed the 2 flavors together but it meant half of the order is 1 flavor and half of it is the other flavor. The spicy is very hot so all you gringos beware. Anyways the dumplings were great but it was weird not having some soy sauce/vinegar to dip in. The chicken tenders were whatever but the drumsticks were amazing and huge. Very very deep fried and greasy but delicious. Also, very good kimchi.

I rate this place a 3.5. The soy garlic flavor is awesome. The wings are good but not great like Annandale or Centrevilles location. The wings are smaller. The strips are good. They also have soy garlic calamari! But I think the idea of it is better than it taste. Slightly too over cooked and the fried to calamari ratio was too much fried to calamari. And I like fried food so that’s saying a lot. The Parmesan fries were good. This place doesn’t give you a side of rice like the other locations either. Why!!! The service is ok. Overall, bon chon is a 5 star place to me. But this location is just a 3.5.
