Great views, quality pub food, the bungalows are a must for large group parties, terrific service. A little hard to find but aside from that I had no complaints. :)

The tacos were amazing!!! Between the 4 of us we had 3 orders of tacos which comes 2 per order. We sat at the deck which was nice since it faced the beach and the waiter were very nice and very knowledgable of the menu. The halibut was a little bit overdone but still very good overall.

I wish it has 0 star so I would rate it 0 unfortunately I have to give 1 star! Husband and I came to see sunset around 5:45, I was told that the wait list is one hour. We went to get some drinks from the bar. After one hour I went to check if my table was ready, but hostess guy said there are 2 group in front of me. Hubby and I met a couple, they came to the bar may be 30 minutes after us. guess what happened after? they got sited right before us. poor quality of service. I am not coming back. so disappointed i wasted my time driving to that bar.

Very cool & laid back. Grilled cheese & tomato soup was delicious. Mojito was awesome as well.

Good draft beers and they play Pats games on Sundays! Nifty little taco cart outside to ease the pain of your hangovers. Pool table… can’t go wrong really… just do it!

The service is horrendous here. You will strain your neck and and your arms trying to catch anybody’s attention to get service. Thought it was just a hair pricey but I wouldn’t have minded if the service was good. Sorry it took away the nice view of the sea.

Service was slow and I was verbally and mentally abused my a bar tender named max. He had no dignity or respect for the work he was doing and told me to shut up while Trying to explain white wine to a few women I had met there. Unpleasant experience

First of all I’d like to let it be known that this is called«POOPDECK» even though the name change was not great, other updates have made it easier for bar transactions and opened up the beer/wine selection. The staff are the same fantastic gentlemen the«POOPDECK» has always been known for.

Decided to stop by because it’s on the beach and has good reviews. My tab was $ 14, handed the bartender a $ 20, got $ 4 change. I had planned to tip $ 2, so I didn’t say anything… But it’s the principle. Did he think I was stupid, too drunk to notice? Who knows, but I was insulted. Same thing happened with my friend… $ 12 tab, handed him $ 15, no change. We drank our beers and left.

Hadn’t been to the Deck in years(back when it was the Poopdeck, of course). While they’ve scrubbed it a bit, added a new coat of paint, and brought in better wine and beer, it’s still mostly the same place. I say that as I watched drunk customer pour all the ice and water from a bucket of beer over his head. Why? Because it’s still the P-Deck. Did he get 86’d? Nope – they just got a mop. Why? Because it’s still the P-Deck. The big appeal is that there is a direct view of the volleyball courts in Hermosa, and because there’s a little patio in back to get some sun/sneak a smoke. Inside, they’ve resurface the floor, but there’s no mistaking that nautical theme running through the old wooden interior. Well shiver me timbers and piss in my scupper – welcome to the new Deck.

So… what happened to the«poop» in the«Poop deck»…im not sure. The result is still a fun little beer bar that’s right on the beach that gas overpriced beer with a great view of all that is happening at Hermosa.

See I remember the Deck from pack when it was called the poop deck. I guess we have gotten so PC as a society now what we can’t say«poop» in a business name anymore? Well poop, poop, poop, and poop. Ahh the Poop Deck nothing really special about this place just a little divey spot where you can stick you toes in the sand and play beer bong in December. I remember coming here one December from Jersey and being all like … Dude I cant believe I’m playing beer pong with my toes in the sand and its December and saying to myself I need to move out here. … fast forward 6 years later … The pool games can get competitive and its definitively a refreshing breather from the hoity toity popularity contest going on on the rest of the Strand and the drinks are just a tad cheaper. Its also quiet enough to open a conversation. On a final I love California and I shall always call this the poop deck.

One of my favorite spots ever. The Deck is the reincarnation of the Poop Deck. The Poop Deck had good karma and has been reborn with a cleaner, lighter, more modern feel and better selection of beer, now offers wine, and they have girlie drinks like Bud Light Lime Ritas. The regulars still come here and Bobby, the manager is still here, and Ryan, the new weekend bartender, is really nice. The new fish tank is great! Patio and bathrooms revamped, taco bar on the weekend. YESYESYES. So glad this place is still here. The view is amazing.

Good crowd, great view. I like that this place has regulars AND hasn’t been crowded. It really seems like an overlooked gem since it has great seats for the sunsets. We have been here a few times after work. Not sure of the standard food situation but the have beet and wine and that’s all I’ve needed.

Super fun!!! I had never been to the«Poop Deck» before it closed so I don’t have anything to compare«The Deck» to– that being said, this place is awesome! Right on the beach, but away from the general Hermosa bars. When we went it was a busy Saturday and the line for American Junkie was SOOO long! We waltzed right into The Deck and snagged some seats at the bar. A few minutes later it was PACKED(world cup USA game) and it got real rowdy real quick! The good kind of rowdy… not the fist fight kind. They have flip cup and cheap pitchers– what else do I have to say to get you down there?! That they have an outdoor area? CAUSETHEYDO! GOGOGO!

When I was here about a year ago, I was told that the Poopdeck was going to be torn down, and in it’s place would be another hotel. I’m so glad that didn’t happen. The Deck is still a dive bar, but with some upgrading. It’s like they got a little botox, but are still recognizable. As other Unilocal reviewers have stated, they serve wine now. The pours are decent and adequately priced. I believe they have changed their beers on tap from the last time I was here. I didn’t have any beer this time, but I will be sure to check it out the next time I am in town.

So there’s no more poop deck. But. There’s The Deck. And it’s fantastic. They take credit. Their patio is still above par. The staff is nice and enjoys all the loyal patrons. Flip cup. Pitchers $ 13. Come here.

This place has only been open a week and a half and it was packed! It used to be the«poop deck» and I was so sad when I heard that it closed! :(We went there today and it was a blast! They classed the place up and it’s better than before. They took the dive out of dive bar. They are no longer cash only and they still allow flip cup. Great service and now they serve WINE! A great list of wines to choose from too. Beautiful location on the boardwalk. Hands down the best bar in Hermosa! Will be back ASAP!!! :)
