This place is amazing! I don’t even know what we ordered exactly but all 3 dishes were off the hook delicious. I still haven’t been back only due to the fact that there are so many places to eat in this town, buts its definitely on my list~Two thumbs up!

A GO-TO for my boyfriend & I — be it just to relax with a good cocktail or treat family/friends in town for a special occasion(brunch or dinner!) — the food and service we get is consistent and delicious! Greg is very accommodating and hands on with the business and customers, and seems to go out of the way to make sure diners are having a great experience — & you can feel that! It’s the little things that make a dining experience great as a whole, and Abigaile has a whole hell of a lot of little good things(largely TAPASSTYLE) going on for it! OURFAVES — Brunch: * Chicken and waffles * Frittata * Buddha Belly Feast * BOTTOMLESSMIMOSAS — Dinner: * Scallops * Asparagus * Mushroom Risotto

This place is really great in so many ways. Excellent atmosphere, really friendly and helpful staff, and very short wait on a Saturday night at dinner time. We had Miguel as our waiter, he was so helpful and gave us plenty of suggestions. Very attentive and friendly. I had the bar’s own version of a Moscow mule… A must have if you come for drinks. We split the Phở Salad which was unreal, I love how spicy it was. My fiancé had the lamb and I had the prawns. Both dishes were so good. Smaller portions than a regular restaurant with American portion sizes but the quality and taste of the food was well worth the price and size. For dessert we had the house’s version of the snickers bar. SO good, like eating an elevated snickers flavored flan. I wouldn’t change a thing about this place. A+

Scallops, slab bacon, red-wine mushroom risotto. Excellent. They’ve got pao de queijo with an interesting twist — a cream & honey dip. That’s not normally how I have my pao de queijo, but kudos for creativity. The place was pretty lively and had a lot of people there on a weeknight. I was a little concerned however, that they didn’t have a greeter at the front, leaving the iPad there for anyone to grab. Kind of regret not getting the bone marrow while I was there… If I’m in the area, I’d definitely consider coming back to Abigaile.

Came here for my girlfriends birthday on a Friday night and the food was amazing but the service was pretty bad. There were 8 of us & they took us a little after our reservation time(which was at 830pm), not a big deal. But once we got seated, I felt like we were constantly waving down the server which was pretty frustrating. Food was great though. Everyone loved the dish I got, pork bim bap. Also, the appetizer, pao de queijo, OMG amazing. They are like soft, sweet cheese balls that you can dip in honey *DROOL*. I would come back again & hope the service was better!

Pretty cool place with some good beers. The walls in the restaurant and restroom have been restored with punk rock flyers and paint. The music they played however, was lame… metal. The food looked good but we didn’t eat.

Great live music for a relaxing Sunday brunch. The dirty bird benedict was delish. The sage biscuit and shoestring onions were a great touch. Got the sauce on the side. The bloody mary bar is totally impressive and they have a selection of flavored vodkas. I went with cucumber! I love that the theme is like a mix of swanky and punk rock. A fantastic upgrade from whatever this place was before. Also, they brew beer! Beware though today(Sunday) they close from 2 – 5.

I came here with a group of friends for a surprise party last week and this place surpassed my expectations. Abigaile is located on the corner of Manhattan and Pier and you can park in the underground lot to the right of the restaurant. It’s a valet building but street parking is very limited and the meters run until midnight here. So if you’re unable to find a spot on the street, this is your best bet. This place is much larger than it looks like from the outside. It’s three stories tall with the top story being an outdoor patio. There’s a bar on the first and second floors and once nighttime hits, the second floor bar area turns into a club-like feel. We had a reservation for a party of 20 at around 8 p.m. and they sat us upstairs in this large u-shaped booth with three separated tables. It was a weird setup so we all ended up just standing around one table because we wanted to talk to one another. The service was great and the food was amazing! It’s tapas style, so be prepared to share. It’s better if you come with a larger group and get a few items because then the bill doesn’t end up being so big if you split it. If you come with two people and get a few items, it’ll likely feel more expensive. We got so many things on the menu: brussels sprouts, bone marrow, escargot, tuna poke, cheesy poofs. Everything was delicious. The one thing that was in really poor taste from the restaurant was when our friend who was there for his surprise and his girlfriend checked in for the reservation. He didn’t know that he was having a surprise party here, obviously, but his girlfriend called a few weeks ago to make the reservation and she let them know that it was a surprise party. She said that when they went to check in for the reservation that the hostess asked«with the party of 20?» And she responded to her, saying«no» and giving her those eyes trying to hint that she’s giving away the surprise. But apparently she didn’t understand and kept saying«yeah, for the party of 20.» And our friend eventually just said yes it was a surprise party but not anymore. And the hostess didn’t apologize or anything. She only said«they’re upstairs» and didn’t lead them up. We all did a wonderful job at keeping the party a secret for weeks but a stranger who was supposed to know it was a surprise party ruined it… who would’ve guessed?! Aside from the surprise party mishap, everything was good. The surprise guest still had an awesome time and we had great service from our waitress. The restaurant has a beautiful view and I believe they also do brunch! Also, if you have a large party, the cap is 20 and anything over that becomes a private party. If tapas is your thing, you should definitely check this place out.

My company had its Christmas party here this year, so I can only speak for the catered menu and experience here. The ambiance is hip in the main dining area. There’s a fairly big bar with a number of seats, and the bartenders were very attentive and nice. The dining area or banquet hall upstairs is just as lovely. There’s an open terrace with indoor seating as well. So, you can choose to sit out on a beautiful, warm day or night, or choose to go inside where there’s another yet smaller bar area. The buffet we got was pretty good, and we were able to use their sound system for annual speeches and fun. Overall, I think this would be a great place for a nice, casual dinner but also a great venue for a corporate luncheon, dinner or party.

I’ve been here several times and have been happy with both the service and the food. However, nothing was just amazing. The food quite good. Served in a tapas style, the food was cooked very well. However, the meat choice was lacking. There were almost no chicken dishes. The pork and beef were pretty good. I’d say they could have been a little more generous with the spices on a few of the meat dishes. My wife thought the cheesy poofs were delicious. The service was very good every time I’ve been there. I thought the servers were very knowledgeable about the food and gave great advice on the food. I’m sure I’ll be there again frequently!

Abigale is a trip; both as an experience and a concept. So what happens when you open a microbrewery in a building that used to be a practice space for the seminal west coast punk rock band Black Flag and then add a kitchen that is headed by the former Executive Sous Chef at the acclaimed St. Regis Hotel and Resort in Monarch Beach(Chef Tin Vuong)? Apparently Abigale. Firstly, I have to wonder if Abigale is located in the right spot. Hermosa has gotten itself pretty high up the douche ladder as far as beach cities go these days and I think the restaurant’s concept would be more feverishly embraced in say — Huntington Beach — or even Long Beach. It is odd seeing women in their Loub’s, holding Prada handbags being hit on by greasy-cologne-bombed-men while listening to Operation Ivy, The Misfits and Fugazi. Imagine 924 Gilman Street circa 1990 being packed with the current day Newport Beach bar and club revelers. It is just… bizarre. That said — This place is special thanks to the brews they create alone. The Drop it like it’s Hops IPA is a marvelous flavor sensation featuring a potent blast of pine coming out of the shoot that mellows into a floral and bright finish that lingers. I was smitten by this IPA I found myself stuck on it during my entire visit. With an ABV of 6.3% it is nearly a session style IPA meaning you will not wake up in a strange person’s bedroom if you have too many over the course of the night, yet it remains full flavored. To soak up the suds we ordered the Pao de Queijo which are billed as Brazilian ‘gooey’ cheesy poofs that are loaded with butter and honey and come to you at a wallet friendly $ 5.00. I rather liked these umm. poofs… and would order them again in a heartbeat as the surprisingly spicy notes paired perfectly with my IPA. We went through 5 orders on my last count. Other favorites at our table of 15 were the Fried Green Olives, 626 Prawns(and accompanying garlic chips) and the Roasted Bone Marrow. The menu is Tapas-esque and seemed perfect for our crew thanks to being easy to share while we were screaming into each other’s faces. In fact, I really enjoyed the inventiveness and creativity in each order that came to our table in chronological waves. Hermosa Beach is pretty lucky to have a spot that offers both incredible brew alongside thoughtful tapas and hopefully they realize it!

Little Sister in MB is my favorite restaurant, so it shouldn’t be surprising to add Abigaile to my list of favorites. I’ve come here many times and each time was never a disappointment. I’ve reserved the upstairs rooftop/Ocean Bar portion for a big going away brunch and it was perfect. The people that work here are awesome! The pao de queijo is amazing, and you can get it for both dinner and brunch(with maple syrup and bacon butter). For dinner, I love the Tin Tin Noodle, Lomo Saltado, and Buddha Belly Feast. For brunch, the Dirty Bird Benedict and Chinatown Steak & Eggs. Til next time!

Its more like 2.5 stars… Abigaile is like that hot boyfriend you dated on and off again for a year. When you break up you know why you’ve broken up, but after awhile you start to daydream about how hot he was and forget all of the reasons he just wasn’t the man for you. Abigaile has got everything. Good location, nice décor, great menu, and so in a moment of weakness I go back. This last time was no exception. My friend and I went in to enjoy a restaurant week dinner and was sorely disappointed. The service wasn’t really that great, which normally isn’t a problem here, so I let that slide. The drinks were well made as usual and our server, while a little foggy on his job description, was super nice. The food took forever to get to us, and when it did they brought my friend the wrong dinner. She was nice and more importantly starving, so she just ate what they brought. I did not eat the prime rib they brought me however because while it was what I ordered, it was a very salty version of what I ordered. The snickers dessert was fabulous! I highly recommend that if you’re looking for a fun and unique dessert. I’ve been to Abigailes many times, which is why they don’t have a one star review. Because I know that though this place is hit or miss, when its a hit, its a really enjoyable experience. Brunch there can be fantastic! On those«miss» days however, you end up wishing you’d saved your pennies for another establishment.

Abigaile which I call the big sister of Little Sister, is one of chef Tin Vuong’s great restaurants in the South Bay. This restaurant which is located a block from the Hermosa Beach pier, is great for a date or to hang out with friends. I’ve been coming to Abigaile for two years since a friend had her birthday celebration here. Ambience is casual, food is always delicious. Portions are tapas size. It gets busy during weekends so it would be good to make a reservation.

Torn. The service is perfect, but the food always disappoints. First time I got the Dirty Bird Benny and it was underwhelming. Then I got the Big Poppa(prime rib, grilled cheese, quiche, small salad)– I liked everything on the plate EXCEPT the star: the prime rib was suuuuper tough. Yesterday I got the Mc Abigaile Breakfast Sando and was not feelin the sandwich– kind of dry and super bready. I ended up snacking on the tots and left most of the sandwich. I do, however, enjoy their bacon bloodies along with the garnish boat(only $ 4!) and actually wished that I had just ordered the garnish boat as a meal bc I enjoyed that a lot more. We ordered the pao de quiejo and Cinnamon Toast Crunch as apps and those were delicious! Supes disappointing that everything is awesome except the main dishes. Servers are very professional and friendly, one of the managers came by last time and chatted with us– also super pleasant. Parking is an expected pain in the ass if you want street parking, but valet is well priced. We got validated and paid $ 7, plus tip, $ 9– not too shabby. Atmosphere for brunch/lunch is super loud– def need to raise your voice to have any type of convo. Bars are right there in case you want to continue day drinking. Bottom line– come here for drinks, atmosphere, and service over food. And boo! Per our server they discontinued the Bloody Mary bar, that thing was the best!

Abigaile has a special place in my heart! The reason being, it’s where my hubby and I had our very first date. After that, we’ve been making reservations at Abigaile for special occasions(ie. Anniversary, Valentine’s, etc). The ambiance is very laid back and fun during the day – weekend brunch is the real deal with bottomless mimosas and delicious food. At night, the atmosphere switches over to a relaxing and intimate night out with a special someone – or a fun night out with friends & family. The bar is very popular. I’ve known about Abigaile for quite sometime now and they don’t disappoint. I have to give props to their Valentine’s specials each year because making reservations has never been so easy and legit. We always arrive on time & they deliver. We’re seated right away and a perfect amount of crowd. Parking is made easy as well! Seriously, we’ve found parking right at front every time. Hermosa Beach is a great area for night adventures – day also. You can walk over to the beach and be adventurous, or shop around during the day. FOOD&DRINKS: A solid 3.5÷5. Some are a «hit or miss» which I always think is their desserts. I suggest to skip out on that and go elsewhere. Salads and main entrees are the best! You’re at a fancy place so expect small portions and high prices! As for drinks, go for their mixed alchy. It does the job and you’d be set with 2 or 3! CUSTOMERSERVICE: I’d give 4⁄5. They are always on top of it with refills and asking how the food is or how we’re doing. I feel they’re so great and focused on their job that they forget to smile here and there. Little things I noticed. Overall experience: 4⁄5 Can’t wait for next year!

Most recently, I came to Abigaile for a birthday brunch. They did not skimp out on the bottomless mimosas at all! The tables are provided with bottles of champagne, that are quickly replaced when running low, and carafes of orange juice so you can make your mimosa however you like(for me its 95% champagne, 5% juice). The food was very good. The corned beef hash was delish, with potatoes, poached egg, and a tasty herbed sauce. The dirty bird benedict was out of this world, as well as the calorie content — a biscuit topped with fried chicken, harissa hollandaise, and maple syrup. Soft baked eggs — a lighter option that didn’t skimp out on flavor, and the vietnamese ‘phở’ poached organic chicken salad was good, although pretty typical. As far as location, Abigaile is conveniently placed near the Hermosa pier, making it a wonderful start to a fun day in South Bay!

I came here with a group of 7 for DineLA. We ended up not doing the DineLA menu because some of the people in our group wanted to just order off the regular menu and DineLA’s rules are that everyone in the table has to order DineLA menu if one person wants to do it. We decided to order and share. I tried: Brazilian Pao de queijo Scallops and slab bacon PIG pop tarts Branzino Fried chicken Octopus Bone marrow Unfortunately, nothing that I tried tasted amazing to me. The PIG pop tarts was recommended by our waitress, but I thought that there was way too much puff pastry in the dish and it overpowered everything else. I could barely taste the pork in there. Out of everything, I thought that the Brazilian Pao de queijo cheese poofs were the best. I also had a piece of fried chicken dropped on me by a waitress. Haha, it was quite an interesting experience! For dessert we ordered the snickers bar and the caramel and nutella crème fraîche(or it was more like a pannacotta? not sure). The snickers bar was way to rich for my taste! But I can see why other people like it. Anyways, I’m pretty disappointed with my experience at Abigailes because I really wanted to like this place. This wouldn’t be somewhere I would try again.

First visit on a Monday evening was perfect! We got there at 5PM and by 7, this nice place was already packed. I am totally grateful for that HAPPYHOUR. We got the long table for 12 people and no reservation was made prior to the visit. I have tried the Berry breeze, Moscow Mule and Callahan Old-fashioned cocktails. I thanked the bartender/mixologist for making all of my drinks strong. ;). The Moscow Mule was refreshing! We started with HH menu with steak nachos and beet salad and they were super tasty. We have also ordered Scallops red wine risotto, fried chicken, burgers and truffle fries and spring rolls. Risotto was outstanding! PAODEQUIEJO. These little Brazilian cheesy breads with honey and butter are the best yet by far! Pay $ 2.50 for the basement parking or street parking for free during the holiday season. Parking staff are courteous. Manager and the servers were all excellent that night! Will come back for sure!
