Always a great time here. Having different floors with different vibes is a huge plus. The bathroom attendant the two times I came was quiet, didn’t bother us when we wanted to use the soap and handed us hand towels to dry off. Very nice and didn’t pressure us into tipping her. The bouncers do a great job of making sure that there isn’t any trouble. There were several heavily inebriated men that got too sloppy and the bouncers were quick to get them out and into a cab. And, when you’re done dancing and enjoying yourself, there’s a great pizza spot down the street within walking distance.

Ocean Bar is a great place to hangout but«Greg» the manager there has no respect for this customers. Bunch of friends went there on 01÷24÷16 to watch football. Arrived there at 4.30 and sat on one the tables. Greg — The Manager came up to us and very rudely told us that we have empty the table by 5 pm. We were about to order drinks and spend some $$ but i guess he didn’t care. He could have nicely accommodated somewhere else but didn’t even bother. I guess he has nothing but attitude. once again, the place is great but the Manager doesn’t know how to talk to customer. I have been to this place million times on Friday and Saturday but never has such an experience with Mike who works at the door or another Managers.

The Place is not bad but Greg who is one of the manager is an extremely RUDE person. Yesterday evening while the game was on everyone hooting and screaming enjoying watching it. We were there for less than 5 mins and were in the process of ordering some food and drinks. While my husband was saying Hi to his friends he met there after a long time, Greg walked up to us… in a very MEANTONE told us get up from the table(which didn’t have any sign that it was reserved). Then told my Husband out of the blue «Can you yell at me little louder… Oh I was just kidding». And then Rolled his eyes. We were shocked by his rude behavior. Extremely mean person. You guys have lost your big deal customers… Good luck

Don’t not come here. Dont waste your time here. These workers think they’re all that pushing you thinking it’s okay. It is not okay. Dime a dozen. There are plenty of plenty of places around.

I came here last night with a group of friends for the first time, and for the most part I enjoyed it. Reminds me a lot of PJ’s on Belmont Shore. The three floors make it awesome. Aside from having to escape for fresh air every 20 mins, the music was good and their prices are decent. I would give this place 4 stars but it’s only getting 3 because the bathroom attendant last night was discourteous. I didn’t even have a chance to get a pump of her scented soap before she shouts across the bathroom from her chair near the door; I can’t use her soap without tipping. And she still continued to complain to the other ladies in line about people using her stuff and not tipping. I was very offended and embarrassed because I have common decency. I used the pink bathroom soap, and still left her a couple bucks. Get friendlier employees.

We arrived at 12:15am we waited in line for about 10 minutes. When we arrived to the front there was a woman and a male. The woman had long dark hair, light skin and was young and the male claimed to be a manager; tall white male. Several males in front of us didn’t pay anything but the woman told us that the men in our group had to pay 5 dollars. There was 4 girls in our group and 2 males. And one of the males asked the young woman why was it that they had to pay if the males that got in before us didn’t lay anything. She walked away and called him a bitch. This is so ridiculous!!! How can a host from a bar call a customer a BITCH!!! This is in all shape and form unacceptable. Please don’t go to this bar if you are a minority. They are extremely racist and rude. I still can’t believe they called my friend a bitch to their face.

Ocean Bar is one of the nicer bars in the Hermosa Beach area that I have been to. This tri level bar has great food and pretty good service. It’s a great place to have appetizers and drinks for any occasion, date night, birthday, or girls night. The brussel sprout appetizer comes highly recommended by me. If you decide to get the cheese balls, make sure that they are warm and not cold. That makes the difference ! The top level is the best to overlook the beach area as well.

Ocean Bar is great if you’re into dangerously good looking bartenders and delightful moscow mules. They have several options for infused liquors, beautiful rooftop view and they often provide live music. Also, solid venue choice for private parties,

A great place to meet friends, has a great selection of drinks at reasonable prices. On the downside, it can take a little while. But the marvelous view from the rooftop overlooking the pier makes up for the wait.

Round 2– I hope Unilocal likes this review!!! Been here a couple times with a friend for hanging out, or her birthday. It’s close by, to where she lives, and she’s young, so what the heck. The view is nice from the roof top area. The bathrooms could be cleaner, and better music could be played. Their drinks aren’t very«strong»… The bouncer, tall one sticks to the rules, so no cutting in line. I saw him give a stern talking to a group of people. He was good looking, so that always helps! The music is played way way way too loudly.(I sound like an old lady)

Poppin bottles lol! I had to giggle when I saw their Bottle Service Menu and the has tag they have at the bottom is #PoppinBottles. I’ve been to Ocean Bar for events and parties and never knew till recently that they actually serve the same food as Abigaile downstairs. Ocean Bar is primarily though a bar area with outdoor seating and a indoor lounge that includes dancing on Friday and weekends. I can’t comment on the #poppinbottoles because honestly there’s been no poppin bottles for me here since my visits here have consisted of making quick stop after a Abigaile dinner to hang out and say hello to friends. I will say however that the rooftop area is amazing. It has a really pretty view of Hermosa Beach. Some times the top level is closed off for VIP parties but if it’s open, I highly recommend to check it out especially right at sunset. It’s also nice that it’s not too cold because they have fire pits going. I can see why many folks stop by here‘after dinner at Abigailes or even just to hang out. With the nice ocean breeze flowing and the ocean view, Ocean Bar is not bad at all. Lastly it can get pretty busy on a Friday night, I was so surprised how long the line was to get in when I left one night. I guess all the finely dressed folks were out to enjoy a night of pretty views and poppin bottles. Haha.

Good drink menu, with reasonable prices. Nice selection of draft beers. Sometimes can take a little while to get a drink but once you do, the views are great, and the outdoor fire pits are a hit.

Omg!!! One of the best service I have ever had and any place! Server was very attentive. Made reservations at head of time so seating was great! Lucked out and got a good spot with a view. Food was good. Most of the stars were for the awesome service!

We popped up after eating at Abigale’s and were upset to find that we couldn’t go on the roof due to a private party. The area is fairly small inside and gets hot and is too loud to chat so standing awkwardly by the fireplace is always a weird option. It makes for great people watching though. The DJ choice could use some help too…

Been here many times as a Hermosa local but went back recently now that I’ve moved. Was there for Superbowl Sunday w/3 gfs. I did expect it to be more crowed but we were treated exceptionally well. The in between menu from Abigales down stairs was excellent. The truffle fries and Vietnamese chicken salad was a show stopper. They really needed to market Super Bowl better because there were $ 5 well drinks, a dj and much more. They should’ve had a beer bucket special. & let all of Hermosa know. They was a 3 bottles of champagne per table special but you wouldn’t know about it right away because those signs of specials should have been all over and at the tables. Also offer not just dry but Brut Champagne. & sparkling wine like Stella Rosa in that special. Juliana & Mikaela the waitresses are stellar in every way. Ocean does need some fine tuning and follow through on reservations.

I don’t come here often because I live in the area. And its true you won’t find a lot of locals at this bar. Ocean Bar is definitely fun I had to admit. Moscow Mules seem to be the«in» drink right now and they make good ones. My favorite drink there has always been the Lemon Drop cocktail. There is a high point and that is usually around 11pm-12:30am. Anything past that point, this place gets too crowded, too loud with too many drunken people. It’s a disaster waiting to happen. And the security is a lot tighter and you can’t really blame them. Our last visit I came with a bunch of girls. One of my friends(unfortunately) got butt drunk… started passing around free drinks from some guy’s VIP booth and picked a fight with another girl. We got kicked out and I was glad… lessons learned. Pls do not bring a crazy drunk friend or your night will be ruined. We came early for dinner next door so parking was a breeze outside on the street. But most of the time, parking can be a hit or miss.

So I joined my friends for a birthday party and ended up with a minor concussion and pinched nerve. Honestly the night started with a glass of wine and light dinner before having bottle service and it was fine. Until 2 men got into a fight at the top of the stairs and fell right on top of me from the top, crushing me and knocking my head against the wall like a basketball!(I’m a 5’2″ 110lb girl) It’s a bar so it’s understandable that people would have disagreements. I’m a bartender myself so I get it. However I was disgusted at how the situation was handled. First when I told the bouncer(a fairly tall Caucasian make with glasses) what had just happened to me, he rolled his eyes before I let out my 3rd word and walked away! Unbelievable!!! He jut assumed I was some drunk girl mad that my show broke.(as a result of being pummeled) In a state of panic by the throbbing in my head and numbness of my leg as a result, I proceeded to talk to another bouncer(a much shorter, bald African American guy) thinking that he would help me figure out what to do. But no, instead he assumed I was some random drunk girl and just shouted at me to calm down and ignored my pleas. An ambulance was called for the two men involved in the altercation who refused to be treated and the management at ocean babe failed to get any information for the two men. So after calling an ambulance myself at the suggestion of the manager Greg(who claimed he saw the entire argument yet failed to see the men land right on top of me), I’m now on my way to the hospital. Liable for the trip on my own due to their incompetence. All I have to say is get it together! The 1 star left was for Barry! He’s amazing and if for nothing else make sure you go and get taken care of by him! He was the only one to even showed concern for the incident and that went a long way. Thanks Barry!

Oh Ocean Bar, why must you be so LOUD!!! I swear, the owners must be sadists, because all they seem to want is to torture their staff and customers. I had to scream(yes, scream) over the ear-peircing house music in order to get a drink. I think a few guys asked me to dance, but I wouldn’t know because I couldn’t hear anything. What a great vibe, right? The cover charge is bullshit. It’s the main reason(aside from the volume of the music and the drink prices) why my friends and I don’t go. On the off-chance that we’re in the area, we might stop in. However, we always regret it. Did I mention the drinks are completely watered down? I know because I watched a bartender splash less than half a shot of vodka in my mixed drink. There goes your tip, honey. The only saving grace is the rooftop section, which has nice breezes and a great view of the ocean. In spite of all the criticisms, I would actually party here on a regular basis, if they would just turn the damn music down! Geez– I sound like an old woman.

Came here for the fourth of July with a big group of even ratio guys and girls. Didn’t wanna wait in line so we gave the line guy some cash, paid cover, and got tf in there. I have no idea about the lower floor but the tops were the tits, everywhere was bangin. We ended up getting a couple bottles(250/bottle fyi) but had great seats and a perfect view so it made it up ok. Bottle service was very attentive and nice all around! The very top is probably the place to be. Great lights, great music, not AS loud though it’s still crazy loud, and pretty good. Cash only at top, however. Why isn’t this place four stars? No one polices the bottle service area for girls/guys who think they get to drink for free cuz they’re chicks. Ridiculous sense of entitlement — it’s NOT vegas(girls) and if we don’t want you drinking out already overpriced bottle that we drunkenly spent on, then please leave. No free cards. It shouldn’t be our job to kick drunk dudes swiggin the bottle they didn’t buy off the area, and girls who think everyone wants them there just because they’re girls. Maybe we’re in a minority, but we had who we wanted with us already. I digress — it’s not ocean bars fault. The place is great though and a solid break from the craziness of the younger crowds on the pier.

Ocean bar is a 3 level bar above Abigale’s restraurant. As the name suggests, you have a panoramic view of the ocean from the bar. We enjoyed happy hour on the top level of Ocean bar, which is open air(complete with a fire pit and heat lamps if it gets chilly). We got there around 5 and it wasn’t crowded at all, things started to pick up around 630⁄7 so if you want a seat come early. The band also started around then so things started getting loud! Instead of a traditional happy hour menu they have what they call an R&D menu which is where the chefs try out some new menu idea. They also have the regular dinner menu available. All the food comes from Abigale’s downstairs. The pricing on the R&D menu is the same as the regular menu, the only real specials are the drinks. We tried the kung fu chicken tacos and the hummus from the R&D menu and the Pao de queijo and Pig pop tarts from the regular menu(after seeing them getting delivered to the table next to us. All our food was delicious, though I recommend sharing the pig pop tarts with a friend, they are rich! There is a parking lot next door, and they do validate so the first 2 hours are $ 2.50. Fun place for happy hour, especially on a nice day!
