I only give it one star but it should have been no stars… once you pass the vomit and trash in the parking lot you find yourself in not so clean building .the cashier was a woman who looked like she was bothered to take our order .we were the only ones in there and it took her over 15 mins to even take our orders. I ordered the nachos and got a plate of plain chips with some chopped tomatoes on it .when I asked the girl if a mistake was made she was beyond rude and said«Those are nachos«then walked away .we asked if it was missing cheese and she said that’s extra .so apparently nacho are now cold tasteless oily chips with tomatoes and that’s it.

I love coming here for Mexican food. Never got my order wrong. The food is always full of flavor. It’s well balanced. All of the food is freshly cooked. I come here with my fiancée all the time every time we crave for Mexican food. We love the fact the are open practically 24-hours a day, which allows many people who come home late and want a quick fix. Even my nurses where I work at often comes here for a late night dinner. Even though it’s under a new name, the food still is the same. I hope the quality of the food never changes.

As a connoisseur of carne asada burritos, I have long maintained that there is a direct correlation between overall quality of said burrito, and the proximity to the geographic center of San Diego. In general terms, as one ventures away from San Diego, the burrito experience fades: meat flavor and consistently slides downhill, tortillas go from that glossy semi-translucent to chalky and undercooked, pico de gallo says«hay the huacho!» and by the time you’re in Culver City, your«carne asada burrito» is mostly beans, rice and lettuce, and costs $ 11.99. There are exceptions, and one would think that Santana’s, located approximately on the border of Hemet and San Jacinto, would deliver. While their carne asada burrito is one of the better ones in town, it is still no comparison to a good«tortilla-meat-guacamole-pico-salsa-and that’s it» burrito from down south. Overall it was fine– and they gave me a lot of salsa containers– but it didn’t curl my toes or make my eyes water. On our recent drive thru visit, I also ordered two kids bean and cheese meals, and they were enjoyed by my offspring. The burrito comes with fries, a juice bottle, and a hot churro. Two extra style points awarded for that!

It feels like they cut corners. I ordered a chorizo burrito and its mostly egg and a little spicy sausage with some chorizo flavoring, not very Mexican more gringo style. $ 5.50 wasted. The California Burrito $ 7.10 and no sour cream one of the main ingredients, but for $ 1.00 they will add it. If I wanted to spend $ 8.00 on a burrito I would have gone to Chipotle. WTF? They still have a $ 3.50 bean & cheese burrito and open 24⁄7 so that’s a plus but damn Mexican food in Hemet is getting crazy expensive.

Now called Castañedas…Umm yum! Carne asada fries! The meat flavored so well. I asked for extra crispy fries, I don’t like flimsy carne asada fries. Guac is kind of different… But still, very very good. The waitress was so nice and patient when I called asking 21 questions about their carne fries.
