REVIEWER # 60 THEBEAUTIFULVIEWSMAKETHISWINERYALLWORTHIT! But I have to admit… I am still disappointed about this winery. Okay, let me explain! I really dislike giving this winery 2.5÷3 stars but I left this tasting knowing completely nothing about this vineyard. All I know is that the ladies and I were going to a black winery. Maybe other people tour the vineyards for just the wine but I personally tour for the history, view, hospitality and the wine. Let me be honest… We got the view and the wine but nothing else. Our server Bob was very pleasant while very pleasant simply poured our wine and refilled our cheese puffs. Now I know what you’re thinking… cheese puffs? Don’t knock it till you try it! The view is spectacular and tremendous from their large deck. Bob, our pourer for the visit, was funny and generous. If we weren’t there at the end of the day, we’d have spent several hours on the ample deck doing a tasting plus a few glasses more. Outside is massive brick oven pizzas which is used for parties and get-togethers — the size of it alone made me want to come back for sample. Most of the wines here were very low cost. The staff was sweet and gave a genuine effort to serve us; as well as the view from the patio being far too BEAUTIFUL not to mention After going through 7 absolutely unremarkable wines, I finally made up my mind to choose the 2013 Riesling-Cole Ranch. I also liked there 2013 Dry Riesling-Cole Ranch but didn’t buy it this time around. TIP– Each bottle purchase waves each person’s tasting fee of $ 15 DIDYOUKNOW: Everett Ridge wines were featured at the White House State dinner! I was impressed to hear that. Would I go back? UM. Probably not, as I didn’t feel that this winery stuck out to me as I would have liked. Review 27⁄196

Pains me to give ER such a low rating as it used to be one of our favorite wineries. So much so that myself, a friend, and other members of my family were members here a few years ago. Staff used to be super friendly and knowledgeable and we loved the ambiance and killer views of the vines and hills. Sadly, we went here on Saturday and had made an appointment for 9 people. We were shown a table outside and then had a sub-par tasting experience. Two women poured wine, very sporadically and barely a big enough sip to get a feel for the wines. At one point, we had to prompt the second woman to even explain what wine she was pouring. We had to wait about 15 – 20 minutes between pours. Only saving grace was the views and that they gave 20% off the tasting or wine purchase(dry Riesling was still delicious as always so we bought a bottle). Will not be back anytime soon! Luckily we had another winery to visit after which led to a better experience for our Midwest guests!

Staff was very friendly but not super knowledgable. The wines were just ok. Mostly a bit sharp for me – tasted like they should have been half the price of what they were.

I do not require 5 star services at a winery tasting room. However I do expect common courtesy and at least an understanding of basic hospitality. This review is about the tasting room and the horrific service received and is not about the quality of the wine. The wine is good — the service at the tasting room not so much! My wife and I arrived at the Everett Ridge tasting room at 430 — knowing that they closed at 5. Being wine club members at the winery we figured we would have time to have a quick tasting and to pick up our latest wine allotment. When we arrived we were told that the patio closed at 430. The patio btw was nearly full with folks enjoying the great weather and fabulous view. The woman working said that she closes the patio at 430 to prevent people from staying past closing at 5(horrors that people might stay and buy something — you wouldn’t want that!). We told her that we were club members and that we were there to pick up our wine allotment. She said we could go inside to taste and that someone would help us with our shipment. BTW inside is exactly two feet from the patio. The tasting room inside is pretty basic. Stand up counter, no tables but a few chairs lined against the wall away from the counter. I mention this because I recently had Achilles surgery and am wearing a humungous walking boot. Standing for any period is not comfortable. We stood by the counter for about 10 minute before a different woman showed up. I didn’t think it would be possible to find someone more unwelcoming and unpleasant as the first woman we encountered but low and behold a person like that does exist! And what do you know; someone thought that the tasting room needed another unresponsive and clueless employee and had these two women working together! The new woman spent about 5 minutes trying to figure out how to find our names on the computer. When she finally found it she noted that we had wine to pick up — something btw we had already told her! She printed out the receipts for us to sign and was walking off to get the wine before we stopped her to remind her that we would be tasting wine. She plopped two glasses on the counter and a capped bottle of rose and walked away. By this time I needed to sit down and did so in a chair that was a fair distance away while my wife remained waiting for service at the counter. Their were 2 other people besides us in the tasting room so it wasn’t like these people were overwhelmed. The first woman returned and ignored us until my wife asked if we should just be pouring our own wine. Finally the woman poured two tasting glasses and walked away. My wife delivered the glass to me. After some time the second woman returned with our allotment. The second woman then walked away without a word or asking if we wanted to taste another varietal. By this time we had enough and left. The whole experience was comical. Every step of the way we were treated with rudeness and ineptness — and we are proven good customers!!! Needless to say we are cancelling our club membership. As I stated earlier their wines are good. But there are plenty of good wines available. Maybe I’m funny but I prefer to do business with people that appreciate my business.

Absolute Perfection! We had a really wonderful day here touring and tasting wonderful wines. It’s not often that I go wine tasting and LOVE everything I try. We tried the Riesling, Rose, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cab(Mario’s Blend) and Zin. Everything was great! Complex yet drinkable – I could see myself having any of their wines at home and bringing it out for dinner or special occasions. Really versatile wines! We had a group of 11 and our vintner Steve was so gracious with his time and told us a lot about the history of his family and the vineyard. I learned so much about not only wine but also the rarity of African-American vineyards. The grounds are beautiful and there are really nice rose bushes and scenic spots to walk and take photos. The staff is lovely and the Wine Club they have is a great deal(reasonably priced, free tastings for friends, and lots of awesome events). I can’t wait to return!

Beautiful views, good wines. I especially liked the Riesling and the rosé. They are both very drinkable and refreshing. Delicious summer wines.

This was our first stop today for our day trip to Healdsburg wineries. Bob was the person who served us our tastings. He was super nice and accommodating. We ended up taking home a bottle of rising and sangiovese. We really enjoyed our time there. We were hoping to sit outside and sip wine but it was still a tad foggy and cloudy when we went. Anyways, we are definitely coming back :)

My Asian wife convinced me to try a wine tasting afternoon while we were staying at our time share in Windsor. We aren’t big drinkers, but bought two bottles of good wine while there. Bob made our visit relaxing and humorous. Having lived in Windsor as a child in the 50s, I was there out of nostalgia; so I enjoyed the patio view very much. No, this winery isn’t pretentious: nor are we. Try a visit here, and leave your yacht cap at home. .

Wines were yummy. I only tried the reds but liked the Pinot, cab and Syrah the best. Wine club seems like a good deal so I might need to give it a try.

Thank you Everett Ridge and THANKYOU to Bob — you saved our wine tasting anniversary celebration ;-) This was our 4th stop on our wine tasting day… and I am so glad we made it here. It totally saved our experience. We had just come from 2 nice but overpriced and pretentious wineries, and we were looking for something more down to earth. This was it! Beautiful view, friendly staff and some pretty darn good wines are to be had here. Avoid those places that put all their money into the«tasting experience» where you pay out the nose and do not get any credit for buying a bottle and come to places like this. the wine is awesome and the experience is even better.

Was up in Healdsberg for the day and only had time to stop in at a couple wineries. My friend really wanted to try Everett Ridge as she’d heard great things. Upon arrving, you really are taken by the gorgeous setting. It’s a bit up high with wonderful views of the valley. They have a lovely patio where you can sit and do your tasting. They also have an indoor AC’d space but it was a nice day when we were there so we opted for the patio. I have to say the service here was amazing. Our pourer timed our tastings perfectly and kept an eye on us to gage when we were ready for the next taste. He was also super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The wines were also pretty delicious and we ended up purchasing quite a few. I’d higly recommend ER as a stop for anyone visiting the area, and definitely plan to stop in again next time I’m there.

Beautiful surrondings and grounds. Awesome wine. One of the best tasting room staff I’ve ever met– they always remember us, always happy and smiling, always fun to talk to. Everett Ridge is my destination every single time I visit the Sonoma County area– which is a few times a year. Often times we go for a short tasting but usually end up staying for hours, chatting with the staff, learning more about wine production, and just enjoying the views. This is the best spot for a picnic outside OR attending one of their wine club events– which is loaded with wine and outstanding food. Thanks, Everett Ridge!
It takes an awful lot for me to write a bad review but when I feel wronged and/or disrespected. I simply must. Background– I was a former wine club member a few years back and have purchased roughly 10 cases over the past 5 years. Always HAD been a fan of Everett Ridge. The View gets Everett Ridge the 1 star. Service is 0 stars– The server was arrogant, charged $ 15 for 2 sips of Diablita that we were considering purchasing a couple of cases of… a full bottle retails for $ 18. We did not have the«tasting’ menu but came in to specifically purchase wine we had bought in prior years that was on sale. Furthermore, the server implied we were there to drink for free like back in the old days when the winery gave away wine for free to people… when it was supposedly more of a bar atmosphere. I had no idea what he was talking about but his drift was clear, he thought we were free loaders. My Solution– Mazzocco Winery where we purchased 4 cases of top rated wine that very day.

I was referred to go to Everett Ridge from some good friends. Finally took a trip out to taste the wines and got a chance to meet one of the owners. One thing about this winery… it has a wonderful view of the entire valley. Whether you are sitting out at the tables or inside doing a tasting. Staff is very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. I was a fan of quite a few of the wines. What stuck out for me was the Zin-a and the Diablita Red Blend and the Diablita Blanca. It is very rare that I go to a winery and from day 1 join the wine club — I did here! I was surprised not to see too many awards, but found that the family does not focus on the competitions. One thing that is unique about this winery is that it is owned and operated by an African American family(4 brothers and their Dad). I also liked their port, which was fortified with grappa made from grape skins. This is my favorite type of port, and only a select few wineries fortify with grappa.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Everett RIdge WInery is Walmart. If you are a big fan of Walmart, then perhaps you will love this place. It’s cheap, it’s cheesy and way overated(at least according to Unilocal) Not to be a snob, but if you put a pile of Cheese puffs in my face, and tell me how each wine is tasty, how could I ever distinguish what I like and dislike? We were hoping to come out of there with at least one– two we liked to compensate for the tasting…(Each bottle purchase waves each person’s tasting fee of $ 15). After going through almost five or six absolutely unremarkable wines, we finally came across their 2007 Anniversary Blend for $ 42, which was the only decent thing that was served to us. so we bought a bottle. Everything else didn’t even deserve an honorable mention… or perhaps even to be bottled? Most of the wines here were very low cost and it seemed like they were more concerned with selling to you by the case or two cases and shipping it out. then quality. The only reason why Everett got a second star was because the staff was sweet and gave a genuine effort to serve us, even though they had no idea what they were talking about; as well as the view from the patio being far too BEAUTIFUL not to mention…

Great views and very good wines! Try the Dry Riesling, it is unique for the area and a world class wine! The staff is friendly! It is a great place to take a lunch and enjoy the view! The cheese puffs are their signature palate cleanser! Cheese and crackers all in one! It is a fun and friendly place to visit!
