The staff is friendly and accommodating but the price is way too high for the portion size. It’s not going to keep me away but I know I can travel a bit farther and get a cheaper larger meal. There are not many good choices for lunch in Hayward, so this is my go to place when I don’t want Mexican or fast food. If they brought the prices down to meet the demographics, I am sure the would get more customers and another star from me.

the sandwiches were ok. they place was empty and there was a hair in our turkey sandwich… like threaded into the turkey! GROSS but they remade it with no attitude. But it was very fresh. WE would probably only go back cause its close to her work.

This place is a solid choice for lunch in Hayward. I almost always order a falafal wrap, and it is HUGE. It comes with hummus though, and not tzitzki(?) sauce… I always ask for a side. Yum! They have a lot of variety though, and I am confident you could come here and find something for your taste buds.

I came here for a GYRO. Sigh. Where do I start? The portion size was significantly smaller than it had been in years, the taste was bland, and the price was higher than expected. Seating was also on the mildly dirty side. I will abstain from visiting again. I’d rather turn to other gyro shops in the bay area, thanks.

We were in need of immediate food intake and Zorba’s was today’s random choice. Their separated«vegetarian» menu made finding our options quick, but had we planned on looking for anything else we would have been looking for a while. Menus, drinks, and all sorts of packaging and condiments were deposited about the entire establishment like someone had decided to open a Greek café in an old convenience store. I ordered the $ 6 falafel wrap. It’s shear size made the price very reasonable, not to mention the spicy and intensely peppery hummus that accompanied the falafel balls. It was, however, on the dry side and required the white«tahini» sauce that came with it. The sauce wasn’t the typical sauce you get with falafel wraps; it appeared to have pickles or cucumber in it as well. The falafel filled me up and peaked my interest, so I hope to return soon to try other items on their mammoth menu.

Dropped by for a spur of the moment lunch. I ordered the tuna and cheddar panini. I like my tuna with a lot of mayonnaise so I found the sandwich very dry when eaten with the thick foccacia bread. The flavor was decent but I could barely eat half of it. Kyle ordered the falafel wrap. It was a good deal for 6 bucks. I found the falafel to be soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. It was pretty spicy too. Almost too peppery but Kyle loved it. I’ll give this place another chance when Kyle wants the wrap again.

I have tried their fallafels and they were too salty for my taste. It didn’t come with that greek yogurt sauce I am use too getting when i get fallafels so that put a damper on my meal. I want to try their sandwiches, they seem yummy!

Zorba’s is my go-to lunch destination in Hayward. The staff if friendly and the food is great. I usually order the Falafel Wrap, which comes with the yummy yogurt dipping sauce. Or, I go for the chicken kabob plate with rice, pita and the greek salad. I can always turn the kabob plate into 2 meals. If you find yourself in an unfortunate city like Hayward, you can at least count on some good food at Zorba’s!

This place specializes in Greek food. Since its just down the street from my work I’ve been here a couple times. Never had I once tried the Greek food yet. They have sandwiches and burgers and a pretty good lunch menu. They also have hot foods and good thats already prep. The service is good and the place is clean. The food though to me is just decent. Nothing that really exciting that stands out and excites me. Maybe I need to go back and try Greek food…

I had no idea we had Greek food so close to home! I came here on the fly with my favorite roomie in the whole wide world and our homie Dan! I thought Zorba’s was all deli sandwiches, but this past Friday we discovered this hidden Greek gem to satisfy our flatbread and kabob craving. I enjoyed my Mediterranean Plate, it was huge! Came with Samosas, Hummus, Flat Bread, Chicken Kabob, Dolmathes and Salad. The three of us could have probably split this dish and been full! MmmmHmm.

I have only been here once, so I don’t have much to write about. That being said the gyro was very good. The hummus was also pretty good, but they did not give enough pita bread to accompany it in my opinon. The outdoor seating area was definitely nice, for you to sit back and take in the Hayward scene during lunch(which can be a riot at ANY time of day…) I will be back to try more on the menu.

I work in the Hayward area, and there are a lot of marginal choices out that way. Zorba’s gets my business for a couple of reasons. First, the people there are friendly and engaging. They care about the place and its patrons. There’s a difference between people who have been trained to be nice, and those who live their lives that way. Second, they make a mean Texas Chicken Sandwich. Bacon can always make a day better.

I’ve been going to Zorba’s for many years. I have eaten only sandwiches there, but they have plenty of other things like salads and pastas.(Overall grade: B) Their sandwiches are excellent! I love the Hawaiian sandwich(ham, pineapple, and cheese) and the turkey sandwich with stuffing and cranberry sauce. They are my two all-time favorite sandwiches! If you are looking for a sandwich, definitely try one at Zorba’s!

Zorba’s is legit. I used to live around the corner, so I’ve been here a lot. It’s never disappointed either. I’ve tried many different sandwiches, their burgers, and their fries. All good! Go ahead and take a chance on something; I can almost guarantee you’ll like it. The atmosphere is inviting and functional; and the staff are helpful, if not business-like. Meaning: these people are on a mission to provide the highest-quality, best-tasting meals they can. So, no messing around, see? Anyway, I don’t live near Zorba’s anymore. But, if I was ever in the neighborhood again I’d definitely have to stop on by. It’s delicious!

I was hoping that this place was going to be scrump-diddly-umpcious, but I was sadly mistaken. I had the chicken gyros. and I don’t even recall seeing the meat on the metal vertical roaster. the chicken was dry and it looked like it had packet seasoning on it. AND it was kind of cube cut. This does not seem like an authentic place to your mediterranean cuisine. but I’m sure that they are great at their american menu. the crisscut fries were good. my sister had the chicken club wrap. but it was OKAY. I just really liked the avocado in it. so i’m still on the search for a great gyro.

I come here because of their Falafel. I may have tried their burgers and one of their sandwiches(the crab one, nothing special), but I don’t remember how they tasted. The things I have to complain about this place is that the dining room should have a better layout, the sandwiches should come either as a la carte or have the option to make it a meal, instead of charging separate for fries, chips, drink, and needs to be cleaner.

There menu is very confusing to new-comers(i.e. me) and it’s kind of expensive(for stereotypical broke college students; i.e. me). It’s a nice change of pace from the normal fast food that’s near campus. Fresh ingredients which is well-prepared in a tasty Mediterranean fashion. I came here to try their falafel sandwich which is $ 4.25 according to the menu on their website. Apparently, they only have falafel wraps(despite what their website says) which is $ 7.50. Quick broke-college-student-math concluded that I could/should go to a buffet for $ 7.50(or 1.4 super burritos), but I really wanted to try a falafel so I bit the bullet and ordered one. I thought it was very good; very spicy and filling, but again, a bit much at $ 7.50(1.4 burritos could fill me up for a whole day!!). I’ll likely be back though since I did enjoy it. It’ll be my «special occasion burrito.» They have a nice selection of beer which is a big plus in my book. Unfortunately, I’m two abs away from a six pack so I’ve sworn off beer/alcohol to avoid the inevitable beer-gut. That and I’m too broke/cheap to pay $ 3-$ 4 for a single bottle(broke-college-student-math concludes $ 4 can buy two 24 ounce cans which translates to 4 bottles).

If I could give 3.5 stars I would. Zorba’s has a diverse menu with plenty of different kinds of food to select from. Their sandwiches and hamburgers are consistently good but the deli salads are just so-so. I like their Chicken Kabob plate but it could use a bit more spice. If you’re looking for quick service this is not the place to go. They are VERY crowded at lunchtime, partially because of their close proximity to the courthouse. You wait in line to place your order, then you wait, and wait and wait until your number is called. If you’re starving the wait just seems longer. There’s no such thing as a fast, cheap lunch here but if you want variety and don’t mind waiting then this is your place.

I was so in dire need of a place w/shady umbrellas outside. And i had no choice coz i had to be within the vicinity of my sweat-out place. Ding! Here comes Amador to help. Just right behind 24-hour fitness. If you just need to sit and chill for a little bit and youre not in your sassy clothes on, this might be just your place, Might. They offer Panini breads and some caribean stuff which I know nothing about, looked good to me but – sorry, I just wanted a drink. At first I was tempted to buy some vegetable thing with their spanish rice, but I wouldnt hold up for another thirty minutes with treadle-max for sure, so i just got myself an anti-oxidant drink. It was a 70-calorie blueberry white tea. Drink prices are Ok. $ 2 – 4, and lotsa choices. I think Ill be back for some tea next time– I wasnt really after the food. I just needed seats to finish my notes on, and a place that’d be legal for my nicotine units. hahaha. So i paid 2 bucks for the seat. The sitting area is kind of hidden, just as how i like it. And parking view makes you feel, ok– public. Its a lot worse than Union landing’s starbucks for nic sessions. Oh I just wish The Fort or Town Center be relocated in Hayward.(Festival pride) Can somebody tell me which cool places to just sit and hangout in.

Zorba’s is a pretty good place if you are looking for better than average Greek food. They are not the best I’ve ever had or anything but if you get hit with a craving for something Greek and you’re in the area, this is the place to go. Their portions are quite generous and they have always been friendly to me. I have yet to have a bad meal there. The lasagna has good and bad days, but overall the food is great. The beverage selection is unrivaled and has many cool drinks to choose from. This place is an awesome community deli and it will probably be there for many years to come. So again, if you’re in Hayward check it out, it may become something to stick in your mental rolladex for later. CHAD
