Panda Express is usually disgusting and a 1 star review would do but I wish I could give this restaurant a –5 stars because not only is the food incredibly disgusting but it’s foul oder it’s a distraction to everyone. Walk by it on your way to class and you’ll be repulsed by the smell. The Student Union it’s only worth going into after they close Panda Express for the day. Worst is when some someone start eating panda express in class or the library and they are Livius to all the dirty looks they are receiving from the other students. More than once I have seen teachers literally tell students to put the disgusting thing away. Seriously why do we even have this on campus as not only is the food the equivalent of vomit but it’s odor is a complete distraction to all who are trying to learn.

The worst customer service. It is always crowded. Do not try it. I think one star is too much for this branch.

Ummm… no. I made a decision to lay off fast food and this place is part of the reason why. Some of the student workers are rude and secondly their food is horrible quality as in meaning it goes«boo-boo bye-bye» within a matter of twenty minutes after eating it and my teacher wasn’t happy about me going to the bathroom every 20 minutes during, so yea… not good.

This is the worst Panda Express ever. No it should be way lower than 2.5 star rating, not kidding. They don’t even give people enough food. They always just give a little bit. Trust me, if you buy exactly the same food from other panda, the amount of food you will get is definitely 50% more than what this panda gives. Garuantee!

Definitely a place for some quick Chinese food. Please don’t expect authentic Chinese food here. Bottom line, it’s a fast food. I got string chicken with steam rice. The stream rice was mushy but the string beans chicken was pretty on point. The staff were your typical fast food workers and the line was long. You might be able to watch 5 or 6 YouTube vids while you wait. Try not to go around lunch or dinner time.

This Panda Express is OK, and I mean just OK. It’s not the best, but it’s certainly not the worst. It’s located in the Student Union towards the southwest end of campus. The seating is shared with Subway, and anyone that spills in from the other parts of the Student Union or the other food court. With that being said, it gets very cramped after 11 and it becomes hard to find seating during the lunch hour. It has about as much selection as any other Panda Express does, with the exception of a few specialty dishes. The quality varies, depending on when you go. I noticed some of the stuff earlier on in the day is a bit soggy and has a texture like it’s been sitting around forever. Later on in the day the food tastes a bit more fresh. The service is fine, can’t really dock them anything for that. They servers work quickly, while they really only have one person working at the register, not very efficient for the lunch hour. One time they didn’t have something I ordered so the guy gave me two free eggrolls, not a bad deal at all! There are plenty of options for food on campus, but I really don’t mind going with this one occasionally.

What was that? Yes, Shanghai steak please. for the third time, the server here needs to practice active listening. Whether it’s the noise level behind the counter or lack thereof understanding, both my co-worker and me had to repeat ourselves… SEVERAL times! Give my experience here, both from catering as well as lunches, the employees here need to listen to their customer’s needs. they waste so much time just repeating their questions that it’s not even funny. Give that, the food is consistently good here so no complaints there.

This Panda only has a 2.5 star rating??? That’s ridiculous!!! Hands down the best Panda Express I’ve ever been to. I eat here 2 – 3 times a week; that’s how good it is. I mean… there’s not many choices to choose from on campus, but Panda is by far the best choice. The food here is the best. Easily, 20 different items to choose from. They got everyone’s favorite orange chicken, broccoli beef, shrimps, string bean chicken, mushroom chicken, kung pao, beijing beef, kobari beef, hella different egg rolls, potstickers, my personal favorite eggplant tofu. There’s more but that’s just some of the things I like to order. And you know the food is always fresh because everyone on campus is hitting up Panda. There’s always a line, so they have to continuously cook more food because they’re always running out. 4STARS! NOTHINGLESS! PANDAOVERERRYTHANG! SUBWAYSUCKS!

CONSISTENT… consistently BADFOOD!!! The best description is Wannabe overpriced Chinese food made by college students who obviously hate working there. You’re better off driving down the hill finding a hole in the wall mom n pop Chinese restaurant because the food here tastes like a dirty homeless man’s bung hole.

It’s so sad saying the best place to eat on campus is Panda Express. Oh man, this place was good for like the first few weeks after it opened, but now it’s almost nauseating. It’s not cause the food is bad, which it is. It’s just cause you end up eating it so much cause of its convenience that your mouth gets tired of it after a week or so. This place makes me miss the diversity of food that was once there at CSU East Bay. There used to be a Taco Bell and a Subway. Now it’s been replaced by RAGING Burrito and Boar’s Head. Overpriced like crazy and not even flavorful. Ok but back to Panda. This place used to be really cool with portion sizes. The workers are college students and would give you a lot of food, mostly cause I think even they realized it was shitty food, so might as well get a lot of it. But now, they only give one scoop. Sucks. btw, Eric’s post down there is hilarious. So true about the International students. They’re the main reason the line here is so long. I really hope it doesn’t remind them of home…

Don’t you think that any business on a college campus would like to sell things at a normal or cheaper price? This place costs a little bit more than the usual Panda Express and their servings most of the time are small as well. Food is ok. Some of it looks old.

Having a Panda express on campus is convenient for many of us who only have a quick break between classes. Their recipes are consistent with other Panda Expresses, which is a big factor when you see people who look like students tossing that wok. Portions are fair, and service is quick. I’d only eat here if I have a short break between classes, otherwise, I’d rather drive off campus to eat real chinese food! Panda prices are not decent, and I feel it is overly expensive for steam table chinese food, so 2 stars =/

I work as a Building manager for ASI. I’ve seen the workers from panda going #2 and not wash their hands. I refuse to eat there now, even for free. Yeah, I don’t wanna eat poop. Unfortunately, you can’t give no stars or else I would have.

I’m a worker at the Union, so Panda Express is pretty much always there for lunch-o! Love the people that work here though(for the most part). Food is okay — be aware when you eat here on a Monday — the earlier you eat, the more likely it is that it’s leftovers from Friday. Best days to eat? Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Be aware that hours of operation change during the summer.

Yay, I can get orange chicken without leaving campus?! Lol, too bad they close at like four. And a Panda bowl for about five bucks; beats walking all the way to my car and driving off campus. I agree with Cobber lots of foot traffic outside to exercise the eyes: D heh.

Come visit this place to see the most hilarious scene ever. I personally have nothing against Panda Express, but this location is such an abomination. You see, back before Cal State’s shiny new cafeteria was constructed, the mainstay for Chinese food on campus had been an independently operated, dinky little shack on top of the hill. Sure, it wasn’t the greatest of cuisine around, but it was at least owned by real Chinese people, and proved to be a fan favorite for many years. With the opening of the new dining center, the trusty old tenants were run out of Dodge, and the position of sole Chinese restaurant at the university was offered to none other than Panda Express, which is almost downright sacrilegious in a school that is majority East Asian(aren’t they all?). Drop by the campus sometime during the lunch hour, and you too will crack up when bearing witness to the line out the door of East Asian students being served fake Chinese food by a bunch of white guys. Just chalk this up as another debacle on par with the ridiculous university name change.
