Price-wise, it’s average. Food-wise, it’s…average. The sweet and sour chicken was dry and chewy and the shrimp in each dish it was in tasted foul. The only redeeming part of this meal was the chicken chowmein. We ordered on the phone for pick up, so we weren’t able to express our concern over the strangely flavored shrimp, but I definitely would not eat here again.

A couple of friends and I just finished class at CSUEB when we decided we were hungry for some Hawaiian food. I looked up Frannie’s and appealed to the big portions and great reviews! Unfortunately, I was not happy with the service of this one lady(she had short hair) who was extremely rude from beginning to end. Not only did she walk away from us before we had the chance to say that we weren’t ready to order, but she really was not friendly at all. I ordered a mini chicken katsu plate which was a really good price for how much food they give you, but the sauce it was served with is not the traditional brown sauce you’d get from L&L and the chicken was a little too crunchy and hard and the strips are thinner so there was a lot less meat. I think if I were to come back, I would definitely get something different. And hopefully I won’t have to deal with that one lady again.

Look what I found! A piece of shredded steel. Hmmm… Iron, yum. The place smells like dead rat. I have hard Time believing a 4 star overall review for this place. Portion, well, if you want bang for your buck and doesn’t care about some unexpected added ingredient, this is the place to be.

Frannie’s is my go to place now for take out. The Hawaiian chicken combo is so delicious. Also I am a huge eater, I can eat some bitches under the table but even I can’t eat it all in one sitting. The staff is nice. Seriously what a great deal and it tastes really great.

I agree with the many Unilocalers who say that Frannie’s is a hidden gem. It’s a restaurant that many CSUEB students have passed on their way to campus, but it’s a spot many students have not yet tried. They have a really good deal for 8 pieces or chicken wings for $ 4! And their portions can fill up one really hunger person or two people. Personally, I like getting the pad thai to go. When it’s fresh and hot it’s not as good, I usually like to wait an hour before I eat it. For some reason the taste of the pad thai is overwhelming when they serve it, but after letting it cool and the sauce settles in the noodles it’s super good! It sounds weird but you should Check it outtt. As always, call in advance so you don’t have to wait when you order to go.

Had a really bad experience at this place. The owner lady Frannie is the worst person, I have ever met. Very bad service. She needs to assimilate better and learn from Americans what customer service means. Won’t recommend.

I am SOOOOO full, I Unilocaled this place from work and I went straight there. At 2pm on a Thursday there were around 16 people there eating. It’s a nice little setting, customer service was great. Wor Won Ton Noodle Soup. OMG, I ordered a small and what came out was not a small in my book. They are trying to make me gain weight. Overall though this dish was really good. Nice balance of saltiness too. A couple next to me was watching me eat this slowly because it was hot and they asked me what it was. They said that they would try it next time they came in. Fried Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings. Mon through Thurs these puppies are only $ 3.98OMG!!! So crispy and juicy. The spiciness was not to harsh. I added a little bit more salt but that’s me. The bill came out a little over $ 13 because of the Wing’s deal. If not it was supposed to be like $ 15.78 or so. Cheap place but not cheap tasting food. And for the money you get 2 maybe 3 meals. I am coming back for sure with my family to get those wings again! Go eat and gain weight at Frannie’s, it’s really GOOD!!!

Starting off soon as I walked in the restaurant I noticed fish fish tanks very exotic but then I noticed the smell which smells like homeless people. The food is disgusting. I order broccoli with chicken the rice soup chow mein. I never had food taste with no flavor and very blend. Panda Express will put this place out of business. I rather have quality over quantity. Zero stars for me. Please fyi stay away better chinese restaurant and Hayward.

I was chilling at the pad recharging my Ankle Bracelet when my Favorite Uncle called and asked what I was up to? I told him I was getting ready to go out and get some dinner. He mentioned that he was hungry so I told him to roll by and scoop me up and I would take him out to Dinner . So he rolled by in his Fast and Furious car and we zoomed to Frannies. We were able to park in their large Parking lot. We rolled in and we were Greeted and Seated. We were presented Menus, Tea and Glasses of Water. Frannies is an interesting place as they Serve Chinese and Hawaiian food. They also have 4 large LCD TVs for Entertainment. There also is 2 Large Fish Aquarium’s with Tropical Fish . My Uncle and I each ordered a Hawaiian BBQ Plate and a order of Fried Shrimp. The Hawaiian BBQ Plate is a Scoop of White Rice, Macaroni Salad, Steamed Broccoli, Teriyaki Steak, Short Ribs and Teriyaki Chicken . Frannies is a very Popular Place. Its a Hidden Gem in Hayward. A lot of Locals eat there. They are Popular because the use Fresh Ingredient’s, Big Portions and Fair Prices . We had our food in 15 minutes. I hadn’t eaten all day so I wolfed down my plate lol. Great Flavors. My Uncle usually has the Appetite of a Starving Grizzly Bear could only Wolf down half his plate LOL. He took the other half to go. Portion sizes run big . Service is Very Attentive and Nice . I paid the Tab with my MasterCard and we rolled out . I liked Frannies so much I’m adding it to my Restaurant Rotation list.

Great portions, well worth the money. I can feed a family of 8 under $ 45 here! So of course when we are craving Asian, this is where we go to order out. I really love the chicken wings. Best thing ever. The BBQ chicken is bomb too. There’s parking, though shady area. I think it would be cool when/if the drive thru starts working.

I’ll keep it short and simple… The portions that this place gives you for the price they charge is well worth it. They give you basically a serving of two meals for the price of one. I came here on a Monday afternoon for lunch and ordered the prawns in chili sauce. All lunch special come with soup, a side, and a carb of choice, I chose the chow mein. The noodles of the chow mein very chewy and flavorful. The prawns were a good size and were very well sautéed. The soup was chicken breast and was very hearty and filling. The total came out to be 6.95 for the entire meal, can’t go wrong with that. They also have a 8 wing special Monday-Thursday for 2.95 and service Hawaiian and Japanese food at affordable prices, like how can you get better than that? I’ll forsure come back and try everything else because its quality food and affordable, especially for a college budget.

Finally came here to check out what all the fuss was about. Ordered the Chicken Katsu(breaded chicken white meat) it was literally 32 oz plus steamed white rice and macoroni salad. I definitely will be back to try the other items on their menu.

As we were driving down the road I saw Hawaiian Bbq. I thought let’s check it out. It actually was something like an L&L bbq. It was okay. Busy yes. Service not so great. Stopped in cause of reading all the great reviews and thought looks good but the waitress that helped us was in some sort of rush and never came back to give us a check or asked if we needed anything else. I’ve been to better restaurants that served the same food and this was no where 4 or 5 stars that’s rated here on Unilocal.I’ll keep driving next time I’m here. Not impressed. Not even a Hawaiian Bbq restaurant just another Chinese restaurant branded with Hawaiian bbq on its name. Not Hawaiian at all.

1st time here so I haven’t tried the Chinese food yet, but I’ve had the Hawaiian bbq. It’s excellent! Tender, juicy, correctly cooked Hawaiian bbq. I got the combination plate. Tasty, fresh food! They give you large portions of everything(meat, rice, mac salad) at a great price. I also appreciate that they put some brocolli on the plate. The food tastes better and is a way better value than the Hawaiian food chain restaurants I typically go to. This place deserves a better rating just based on the Hawaiian bbq alone!

We went during lunch hour. Got the lunch special that came with soup, chow mien or fried rice, and one main dish ! We chose spicy eggplant with chow mien! We also ordered cream cheese wontons soup appetizer: I think it’s some Type of egg tofu soup. It was decent. 3.5÷5 eggplant: it’s ok. Kinda on the soggier side and it wasn’t even that spicy. The texture felt gushy ! I def tried better at other places 2⁄5 Chow mien: abit above average. It was good but needed more flavor; more on the plain side. The noodles were perfectly cooked though. 3.5÷5 Cream choose wontons were on point !5/5 I would come back here to try their infamous honey walnut shrimp and other dishes !
