Nation’s Giant Hamburgers & Pies

Come her every now and again mostly for to go orders. Phoned in an order that Jacob took. Very pleasant and helpful. Arrived and my order was ready on time and the staff was polite. All though they were out of my favorite pie their customer service made up for it. Love this location. I’d like to mention the owner picked a great location because the surrounding ones are to small for all the traffic.

They take a while to serve the good. Bit its always so delicious! The diner is nice and clean and staff is helpful and friendly! Thanks nations

3 stars for Justos Great attitude but every time I come the 2 lady’s on the grill always got a attitude ! Horrible makes me not ever wanna come back food is great but everything I ask for. Little something different of my my sandwich they get mad it’s not like I’m not paying for the shit! Irritates me when they have a bad attitude I think her name is Adeline or something

For years I have been recommending this place for the juiciest hamburgers around and my sons love it. One of the best compliments I had received was many years ago when my son had a sleep over with some of his friends and he complemented my hamburgers by telling his friends that my hamburgers were better than his favorite place «Nation Hamburger» I was glad they all agreed. The following morning I cooked 5 lbs of bacon with their breakfast and it was all gone before the eggs came to the table.
I will not go to any of rhe fast food restaurants because their hamburgers do not taste home made no matter how they make them and what ingredients they use to make them.

Bomb burgers as any typical nations. this is the spot to come to if your in Hayward for after hours and fast food chains won’t hit the spot. they get kinda busy but staff is always on point. they never let me down when I’m in the mood for a burger… beat spot for food after a night of playing softball. Pies look good too. They are always stacked with pies. nothing but goodness comming out of this spot. atmosphere is old school too and gives u that classic kind of vibe not a bad spot at all as far as burgers are concerned

The «cream» at any given Nations is something that haunts me in my dreams. I’m a coffee guy and every time I go to Nations I know that I will come face to face with the monster that is their pitcher of coffee creamer. It is this industrial size pitcher filled with white liquid. It isn’t refrigerated and it just sits on the counter next to the coffee and trash cans for hours.
The coffee itself is supposed to be Peerless coffee but it doesn’t taste like it. If you haven’t figured it out I don’t come for the coffee but I get it often since it goes well with the pies they serve here.
So why do I come? Its great for groups, the value is outstanding, you can hang for as long as you like without irritating a server who wants high table turnover for tips, the pies are good, long hours are convenient… I could go on and on…
I have probably passed this restaurant 5 times a week for 6 years on my way in the morning. As you could imagine I’ve been in here many many times. I remember having some friends encouraging me to do the chicken dance around this place 10 years ago. I remember many large groups hanging around here and the employees were always patient with us.
Its convenient to the freeway. Come give this a whirl… if you can remember stuff some coffee creamer powder packets in your pocket before you make your way over tho.

Rude. Poor customer service. Lack of quality control dirty and understaffed. Good hangover breakfast got them a second star.

Hamburger with lettuce, tomato, onion, bun, and green chili. I wonder if they would grill the onions and bun if asked. It’s supposed to be a ¾ lb. patty, kind of dry. Service is slow. Blueberry cheesecake was pretty good. I probably comeback for the pies but not for breakfast or burgers.

The best place to buy Banana Cream Pie! One for me and one for them. :) When it comes to Nation’s Banana Cream Pie. I’m greedy :)

Nothing wrong with the chef food was done at a quick pave, but when it was ready… i had to still wait another 5 mintues until they were done talking till my food was giving to us… i normally dont post Unilocal reviews… please the bathroom need improvement sorry for the comments but one other guest agreed with the bathroom aroma.

I come over this place near my place on a Saturday 10am after exercise. Double egger, with bacon, medium cooked, merfun bread. Wait there for 5 mins. Neighbouring tables are largrly latin couples with young kids and some white man singles. Its an old fashioned cafeteria or restaurant. Looks like people come here for brunch etc.

Food here is great
service is horrible they are too slow and if you want to place a phone order they put you on hold for over 7min and then just hang up on you. They need better service here.
And the pancakes tasted like onions

The salmon burger is great. It comes on a whole wheat bun.
Food takes about 6 to 10 minutes and they have amazing pies for dessert.
A slice of pie here is HUGE.

I played it safe with a burger and onion rings and I was surprised by how good they were. Our order came out fast and the burger was way better then I expected and the onion rings were real.
So, better then the fast food places but not quite as good as 5 Guys.
Try it and see.

I came here to try the highly reviewed grilled cheese. Figured I would try the chili and a shake. Came to $ 12.32 not bad. The wait was not too long. Here is what I got.

I love Nations! I live nearby so I usually call in my order and in to pick it up. When I go to pick up my food I pay and it’s ready in about 5 minutes if it’s not already ready. I routinely order root beer floats and chicken sandwiches with fries.
I love ordering floats from here because they fill up my cup with ice cream and they let me put how much root beer I want. Can’t go wrong with that! The cheesecake is always fresh.
The burgers and sandwhiches are always on point and the produce is fresh. I usually have to say I want my fries well done so I don’t end up with the soft ones at the bottom of the bag.

This was the second time I’ve been to this chain but I previously visited the Tracy location. 75% of a pound is 12 ounces of beef. Yes, it’s a lot. It’s also National Hamburger Month. I’m doing my part.
Two cheeseburgers (with a buddy, okay?), large order of fries, and two drinks. (Yes, if I weighed more, I’d be a heavy drinker.) It looks reasonably inexpensive until the total. (Is it any coincidence that someone pulled up in a Bentley?) It’s about the same as Carl’s Jr, which I like but I don’t visit so much because it’s expensive for frequent visits.
It was an extended time waiting for the food to be ready. That’s good and bad. They didn’t have many outstanding orders. Eventually, they called our number. I got the food from the counter.
They didn’t listen to my buddy’s no tomato, no onion request. I wasn’t thrilled that they had mayonnaise or special sauce on it, but I forgot to ask ahead of time.
The tomatoes were what I’ve heard called «winter tomatoes” – they were very yellow and not just firm, but hard, as though they were picked weeks ago, something I hated about Wendy’s. After a while, I removed the remainder of the tomatoes.
The sandwiches are okay. They’re not as good as Carl’s Jr.‘s sandwiches to me. It also doesn’t taste like grilling out in the back yard but you can’t expect greatness.

Open late !!
Their grilled cheese w/​grilled onions and extra slice of cheese is soooooo good! I always order that every time I go to nations especially on drunk nights. It’s a must try if I haven’t tried! ⁵⁄₅
Their ham and cheese omelette is okay. The hashbrowns were kinda soggy. ²⁄₅

We came here at 11:30p since we just got back from a trip. Their service was hellaaa slow for a no crowd Friday! Only one cook? This restaurant is pretty dirty. Many of their tables are not clean. We had to clean our own table. Yuck!
This burger joint used to be my spot when I was younger due to late open hours but was never my favorite burger. Their burgers always had way too much mayo and not much flavor but were big… I love their pies, though! Everything was made to order and maybe why it took too long? I just had the regular cheeseburger with chili fries and onion rings. The chili was pretty large size but it had a burnt taste and the fries were soggy. The cheese was just slapped on top. Kinda disappointing. The onion rings were pretty good though but was too large to eat. I suggest to cut it to smaller rings. Banana and chocolate silk pies are the best!
Not sure, I will be back except for the pies… there are better burger joints out there now.

There is a man who works here named George. I just want to take a moment right now to thank George for always being a gentleman and helping out even the rudest of customers. George deserves 5 stars and a job offer somewhere else because no one else working here has standards remotely close to George’s altitudes.
I should clarify that my review today is about a specific shift. Me and me SO went for a late breakfast around 11am just this past Valentine’s Day. Upon entering I first noticed two people at the counter with complaints, «everyone thinks they are princess», I initially thought to myself. We ordered one breakfast and one bacon cheeseburger along with onion rings and an order of frenchtoast. The onion rings where DELICIOUS and upon finishing my main course I was very happy to be jamming some familiar French toast in my mouth hole. I couldn’t swallow a bit of it. The face of every piece of toast facing the plate was burnt to black. These ladies thought I wouldn’t notice something so black and charcoal-​y.
I felt ashamed approaching the counter to ask for a new order. I wished I could of been the brave warrior that could eat such an atrocity but I wasn’t. As I shyly told the lady behind the counter a wave of awkwardness came over as she screamed, «So what-​do you want to wait for-​it because your just gonna have to wait for it!»
George the gentleman helped take care of the situation but we could all tell that whole line of ladies were pissed off and didn’t care. It was all of us costumers against the lady cooks and poor George was just running around trying to keep it together. Ill be back though… George and those onion rings are always on point.
