Burnt lion king. Duck is flavorless and accompanied by wrong sauce… hm…not very happy with the food… kind service though but that wont cut it.

Sometimes when nothing changes, it’s a good thing. I’ve been away a while, and when I walked back into this place, the person behind the counter actually welcomed me back, and said that it had been a long time since he’d seen me, and asked how my girlfriend was. Either this guy is good at guessing or has a great memory. Either way, he’s personable and has great customer service. I got a mess of food to bring home. A bento box, unagi roll, and beef and broccoli. Easily could have fed 4 with that list and cost about $ 25. For us, we had leftovers for lunch today. I still recommend them to anyone.

Pretty displeased with them. We ordered chicken katsu super bento box which should have come with chow mein, katsu and gyoza. They gave us white rice. Doesnt feel fair for the price we paid($ 20.02). We also bought a lion king roll. Won’t be going back. 2 stars bc the people are nice and interior was nice.

Foods are on point, another hall in wall that has to be notice. Try it and you’ll never reget about the taste and prices.

Didn’t realize there was new spot in Hayward so I called in for a pick up order based on all the great reviews from Unilocal. We ordered the Baby Lion roll, Summer Roll, Cal Roll, Salt/Pepper fish and a Thai Ice tea to wash it down. All the food recommended was good and super cheap. This is a hole in the wall. Not alot of tables to dine at, but pick up is always a good option. Will definitely order from here again!

This place is not good at all. I ordered the Tiger Roll and I could only have two bites because it was drenched in teriyaki sauce, avocado was going bad, the salmon was not fresh at all, and to top it off… I found 2 pieces of plastic in the roll. This will be my first and last time ever eating here.

I tried this place for the 1st time. It’s a small hole in the wall spot but it was pretty tasty. There are a few tables but it’s mainly for take out. They cook to order, there’s no ready items that I could see. They have a nice variety of food selections both Chinese food and sushi. I ordered a couple of meat and veggie mixed dishes. In my opinion, there could’ve been a lil more meat. That’s the only reason I didn’t gice it 5 stars. However in their defense, the price was fairly cheap. So I should’ve expected that. Next time I will order meat and veggies separately. The service was really good. The guys working were very nice and polite. That goes a long way with me. They also have a variety of smoothies with pearl drinks that I want to try. I will definitely go back to try other menu items.

3.5 Stars. Lots of variety of food: sushi, chinese food, gyoza, even fried tilapia(!) If you’re in the area and can’t thing of what you want for dinner — this is a good spot to pick up from

The hubs and I came to grab a bite here the other day and I’m so glad we did! The service is great and food was good! We had the baby lion king roll and the soy garlic chicken over rice; both were delicious! The soy garlic wings were perfectly crispy, with a soy garlic sweet glaze… yum! Craving them again at this very moment. I did notice the avocado in the sushi was a tad unripened, but overall it is pretty good sushi. Prices not too bad either(Most if not all rolls are roughly under 10 $). They have more selection of rolls that you can choose from and I can’t wait to try more of them! For being an Asian Fusion/Chinese joint, the sushi was pretty impressive. Parking was a bit complicated, since it’s a small lot reserved for about 3 places, but you can also park along the street. If you’re in the area craving some Asian food, come to this place!

My sister and I have been craving sushi all day and we wanted a change from chef teriyaki so we decided to go on here to find a good sushi spot and Munch! Appeared. First of all the name is legit. It reels you in because your like«ooooh what kind of food is it?» We drive down on Tampa and find it at the corner. Not a huge parking lot but it’s not too packed(at least when we came). The sign was big and bright red with a ! This is a true«hole in the wall». They don’t have a bathroom and it has like 3 tables that fit like 4 – 5 people each table so it’s small. But they have EVERYTHING! Hella Chinese dishes like broccoli beef, salt and pepper shrimp, orange chicken, to like katsu with curry and wonton soup, to like boba and smoothies, but the best things are Munch fries and the sushi! It was decent size and like 2 – 4 dollars cheaper and just as delicious. Super friendly service, like for example I ordered a Lion King roll and when it came it didn’t have salmon on it so he gave me money back plus a coupon for a free roll. Best part about that was that I didn’t even notice that it was missing salmon because it still was good. I’d come back for sure.

4 stars just for Gyoza Roll because it’s truly spectacular. Maybe other sushi rolls are good as well. Other things we tried were the peach smoothie, chicken katsu curry and chicken teriyaki, all average and not worth eating. But the Gyoza Roll is worth it. Get it.

This place deserves a review, and I really don’t write reviews. But every time I come here, I am always CONSISTENTLY impressed. The food is made to order — piping hot and fresh, just the way I like it. Expect a bit of a wait when you order, but WORTH every minute and penny. Order over the phone if you don’t want to wait. They are a family-run business and very friendly. Nice to chat with when you’re waiting for your food… very humble people. All the food I’ve tried is really good. I’ve never tried their sushi, so I can’t speak for that. Their chow mein is delicious. My favorite… three words — soy garlic fish. Just perfection!

Munch, I love you, man. I love you so much that I wish I can take you back with me to NY. This is not your typical Chinese takeout spot; it is what an awesome small business is all about! The family who runs the restaurant is super courteous, friendly and attentive. It’s a tiny place that offers an overwhelming range of delicious options, including Chinese stir-frys, Japanese rolls and Asian jelly drinks. In fact, the whole menu is laid out in colorful pictures lined up all over the walls and at ordering counter(so Asian hahaha!), along with a white board that lists out the prices. The girl at the cashier explains that because it is more convenient for international customers to point out what they want with the photos. However, they are really flexible and will customize the dishes as you like and I thought that’s cool. Now on to the food… All dishes are fresh and made to order, none of those nasty, overdue steam table leftovers that had been there for god-knows-how-long. The portions are huge and super affordable. I have had both the Chinese and Japanese dishes in separate visits. The sushi rolls are definitely the winner. I’ve been told that the brother who prepares them worked under a chef who cooked in Japan. I swear, their lion king roll tastes as satisfying or might even be better than Sushi House in Alameda! And you know what the best part is? It is only half the price of Sushi House! I’ve had the baby lion king(you can add salmon for $ 2 more) and gyoza roll(which is surprisingly filling), they are equally tasty. Personally, I find their Chinese dishes a tad too salty, perhaps to cater to the neighborhood taste palette. I could order their chow mein again though, the noodles are thick and chewy. I can eat that over and over again. Seriously. Yum. While waiting for my food, I saw a lot of people ordering this fried whole fish with rice and veggies that looked so so good… It’s supposed to be one of their best selling items. Gotta try that next! Munch is a sweet, little gem that is packed with lots of love and care! Don’t miss it!

Spending my life in SF has skewed my perception of reality and this lil’ piggy is unapologetically spoiled with an abundance of food options. I will admit that when I go visit my gf in Hayward I end up sticking my nose in the air and settling for Taco Bell way more often than is allowable for a man with such refined palate and discerning tastes as I… but this isn’t about me. Or is it? Impossible to be sure. Thank the devil there is Munch just three minutes from her apartment. This isn’t fast food. This ain’t no stinkin’ franchise. It’s a small, family-run business with a plethora of amazing options COOKEDTOORDER with love and care. You have your choice of bento boxes, standard chinese entrees with chow mein, fried/white rice, sushi, katsu(with curry!), tempura, miso, fried chicken, and pretty much everything in between. They have super-healthy and overly-indulgent options. Their sushi is solid and they have tons of original rolls which I have yet to fully realize the greatness of. Tea drinks are amaze-balls. We always get the lychee tea with lychee jelly, only lightly sweetened. Lychee x Lychee = Happy! Mostly what I love is the lady at the counter and the service she provides. She is always so helpful and will basically make whatever you ask for. She is always customizing the menu for us and making great suggestions(my gf tips huge, like 30%, because of this). The portions are incredibly generous and always super-fresh and piping hot, plus they take great care to include the correct sauces in correct ratio to the food you ordered, and even include special treats like their homemade pickled cabbage, which is sort of like kimchee. There are many chinese-type restaurants that take the all-in-one approach, but no one does it with pride and love quite like the folks at Munch. Their selection is unique, but most importantly, they treat their customers like they are special. I would be equally stoked on this place if it were in San Francisco, but if it was the line would be out the door full of people who read my glowing Unilocal review. ps. Secret Bonus: The dude with the churro cart across the street makes the freshest, bestest churros I’ve ever had. Nothing in the Mission even comes close!

We love this place. Everything is cooked to order, and you can tell. Our favorites are the BBQ Pork and Teriyaki Chicken — though everything I’ve tried has been delicious. The chow mein is AMAZING. The vegetarian in the family loving the Salt and Pepper tofu.

Tiny but holds many magical things. Definitely not a sit down, more of a pick up take back home and enjoy in your jammies type of spot. Definitely coming back to explore the rest of the menu. Ps I never write reviews, so that’s saying something. :D
