Always packed on weekends and evenings so I usually call in. Food is authentic and good only thing is i feel sometimes the meat is dry and no the most juicy burritos or tacos. Also if your not hispanic it takes a while before there polite to you

Just had the worst experience! The food is delicious but the customer service is the worst. I was on hesperian and called for pick up and I was placed on hold. I got to the restaurant, got in line (there was 3 other customers in front of us) I can hear Maria (Cashier) taking orders, singing, and laughing. When I got to the counter I asked her if she had someone on hold she said «no» and I told her to put the headset in her ear and when she heard me talking she started laughing and blamed the other lady (Karla) and they both started laughing in front of me. I explained to them that I was on hold for a long time, no apology, Karla just started taking my order very rudely. Will I be coming back? Not sure

Definitely one of the best top 3 taco joints in the bay! I haven’t tried anything but the tacos. I get the carne asada ones and the meat is so good! Seems that the menudo is poppin’ though. People are in here everyday grubbing on that soup!

The five stars are just for the weekend menudo. Best I’ve ever tasted in a restaurant with hand made tortillas. I really haven’t had anything else. But the menudo is enough to come and after your meal go next door and get a mocha or latte. Those coffees are better than Starbucks or Peets hands down!

How this place has 4 stars is beyond me. The food is super greasy and the carne asada has tons of fat on the meat.

Their food is very delicious and authentic. This place is not like all the other mexican restaurants all bland and stuff. This place is really good.

You wouldn’t believe this place would be a popular restaurant looking from the outside. But it is! Authentic Mexican food with great service! I had the taco plate and it was a fill-​up! It came with toppings, a side of a whole baby grilled onion and raw radish (which I wish was pickled! Yum!), Mexican rice and mashed pinto beans. One taco was enough but I couldnt resist the second! The rice was a great addition and gave it more flavor. The grilled baby onion was interesting! Just by the look of it you could have already tell that onion was juicy and it was!
Will come back to try more!

Dont go here. I bought some tacos for me and my dad. We brought them home and when he opened his food. Two fat roaches sitting on his plate. Ive heard bad stories before about this place but nothing bad to me until tonight. Im disguisted and i hope the health inspector stops by and shuts them down. Fuckd up ass service and roaches in the food. Im cool off this place. Que chingen su madre.

Best damn Carne asada burrito! Yummy salsa Roja too. Only thing is, it’s kinda dirty inside restaurant, but there burritos are really good!

I love coming hear for my birria especialy after a few drinks a night before. I love that they do orders over the phone but please give some help. My hisband usuly orders for all of us at my house and for today I took that first step OMG was it that complicated to help out I ask for a order for 4people and the ladys respons was o no its four plates you cant have one order and I say again a order for four I really dount care for plates just make shure its Inof for four people she was rude and clearly I. A rush to hang up so I learned something new La Placita need better customer service especially if I am going to make the trip from fremont to hayward I do not care how good there food is (may I say its perty good but again I only go for the Birria) I will not accept rudeness especially if I am gonna pay you. Thank you very much

Good food, customer service is iffy. I live 10 minutes away and I love ordering for pick up. But more than once they have said a time and when I got there my food wasn’t ready. They even ‘lost’ my order once.
I know to give them 5 – 10 extra minutes to the 15 minutes they always say, but if I show up 30 minutes later and I still have to wait 10 minutes? That isn’t okay. If it’s going to take 30 minutes, say 30 minutes. I do not want to get there and have to stand outside waiting for my order. That’s why I called in.
I would wait inside but it’s a constant struggle having to move because all tables are taken and the aisle is just big enough for one.

Best mexican restaurant ever! The food is amazing, as well as all the employees their all very lovely!

! A big plus was that they gave me avocado when I asked. Great service though if you come in the weekend be ready to wait a little.

I love this place! The only thing I don’t like is I can’t eat tacos or burritos from anywhere else because they are just too good !!! Anywhere else doesn’t compare at all. Try it and I know you’ll love it!

Been going here since high school! Love it! Their remodeling and it looks nice. its best if you take out and pre order, it can get crazy busy on the weekends

This place does not deserve anywhere near the high rating that alot of people are posting. The food is decent two starts. that’s it. For the price there are many more places in hayward that serve food equal or better for same price or cheaper. They also need to update the menu. …Actually.. They need to update the whole place. start by adding air conditioning cause its hot AF in there. Their booths seats are messed up. I sat down and had the table to my cest. Hella uncomfortable. I won’t return.. I rather go to a taco truck.

Best hole in the wall place for authentic tacos… Tacos de asada and a super burrito de asada is LIfe!!! It’s small and sometimes crowded but so worth it. I usually call mine in and take it home to eat but it’s always best when hot. So if u find a seat sit down and enjoy the orgasmic food. Been going here since High school. If you’re from Hayward and never tried these then you’re missing out.

This is La Placita to be! One of the many hole-​in-​the-​wall places I just can’t stand to live without. I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD. This place has one of the best tacos I’ve ever had. To top it off, they have grilled jalapeños and grilled onions to eat with. Drool!
You seat yourself. They bring your order to you. Might have a tweaker homeless outside from time to time. Or even fresh made churros by some dude with a cart!
I love the carne Asada tacos the best. Make sure you add their sauce, ask for their grilled jalapeños and onions (which are soo deliciously sweet).

Si quieres tacos… tienes que venir a este lugar!!! The best y el servicio al cliente no es el mejor pero es rápido y eficient, por la demanda que tienen esos puntos son favorables, sigan así o mejor jejeje

Authentic tacos for sure. A very hole in the wall joint, so don’t expect a very clean taqueria. You order at the front, they hand you a paper with a number order on it, and the ladies bring you food when they call your number. When we were there the ladies were calling out the numbers in Spanish, so just a heads up for those who don’t know the numbers in Spanish.
I had 3 tacos for about $ 2 each. A bit pricey than the taco trucks’ price of $ 1.50. I had 2 carne asada and 1 carnitas. Quite frankly the carnitas were over cooked and tasted funny. Had too much herbal minty flavor to it, which I didn’t enjoy. A huge chunk of meat was hard to chew so I had to spit it out. The carne asada were okay, not worth remembering though. The cool thing about this spot was that one of the condiments was hot chili cooked in oil. Pretty spicy and tasty to add on to the tacos.
Overall, would we come back here? I don’t think so, but this place is worth trying. Maybe I just had the bad batch of carnitas.

Wow, authentic Mexican food!
Honestly I have never found a Mexican restaurant that serves chili oil, yes like the kind you eat with dim sum!
I tried the steak super burrito and I fell in love! They don’t use the shredded cheese here but actual Mexican cheese. Mmm!
I also ordered the 3 tacos plate, chicken, pork and steak. The steak is the only meat that I would come back for. I’m not a fan of beans, but their terrier beans melt in your mouth good. The extra cheese on top helps every bite too :)
Unfortunately, there isn’t a salsa bar here, or free chips so I deducted one star. They do have some green salsa and res that you can ask for. Other than that, the food is excellent, packed with flavor and authentic.
