The restaurant appears to be closed and phone is disconnected! Oh, no– I loved their ultimate margaritas and enchilada verde. Anyone know of a status?

Excellent burritos, especially the Famoso! Service is great and fast. This place has been around the neighborhood for a while and I am glad to see that they are still open for business.

OK. I work in that run-down business park surrounding Fiesta Mexicana. So, this place is handy for lunch or for picking up dinner. But we have actually driven here on the weekend because their food it really good. Love their chicken soup, chicken salads, green enchiladas, famoso burritos and margaritas. They recently remodeled the back room where the bar is. Looks great. Their prices are super reasonable for the food you get. Love the Guzman brothers who own this place. Nice guys.

Went here with my friend about a week ago to check out the happy hour and it was A-OK. There is a lot of space here, plenty of parking across the street and the HH drinks were decently priced and good. It’s not somewhere you go to impress anyone but if you’re looking for good drinks at a decent price, it works. There is a pool table, mariachi band, a tv playing Mexican soaps, a juke box(I think) and apparently you can bring kids here. It’s directly across the street from the Hayward Police Department, so if you’re the type that likes to drink and drive, DON’T. Get yourself a DD. =)

I ordered the menudo, and my friend ordered fajitas. My menudo was average and my friend’s fajita looked dry. It was OK, nothing special. Service was good, they were very friendly and checked in often to make sure everything was going fine. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

It’s not exactly clear if the semi-seedy vibe of the run-down business park surrounding Fiesta Mexicana helps or hinders the overall«diamond in the rough» vibe of the place. From the parking lot you can enter through the rear door into the bar area and just sort of wander into the main dining room. The ambiance is odd, I can’t say I’m much of a fan of cock-fighting décor or optical illusion Jesus«art.» On a Saturday early evening when my wife and I visited, the sounds of a soccer game playing on a TV in the non-bar dining area seemed a little low-rent to me. Nonetheless we were instructed to sit and our drink orders were taken by a polite young woman who knew sufficient English to serve as hostess but was stumped by my wife’s request for a recommendation from the Margarita choices. We settled on a house ‘rita for the sake of simplicity. That margarita was pretty bad, really, almost entirely cheap-tasting and very sour lime mix. We politely requested a replacement and the waiter(possibly owner) was very accommodating, even going so far as to try the first one himself and report back that something had indeed gone wrong. The top shelf we settled on was much improved and a fine drink in its own right. For food we had combination plates, very reasonably priced by Bay Area standards. The chips and salsa were quite good and served well as we enjoyed our drinks and conversation; the wait seemed just about right for freshly prepared food. My pastor chicken taco was not the wet marinated meat I expected(I’m not exactly an expert on Mexican cuisine) but rather a very dry, salty and spicy chicken chopped fine and cooked crispy. I deemed it chicken bacon and found it actually delicious despite the busted expectations. One mild complaint was that they(as most places do for my taste) went heavy on the cilantro, though mercifully it was on top and fresh therefore easy enough to pare back. My carnitas burrito was flavorful and substantial without being obscene and rice-packed the way some places tend to(over)do them. The meat was tasty and had the right amount of crunch to it. I know my wife got a combination plate as well, but I never had much of a chance to see what was on it since she cleaned it practically before I had made it through the taco and she’s the slow eater between us. She tells me at one point there was a quesadilla single item combo on it, but I guess I’ll have to take her word on that. Overall the service was excellent, the food had very little to complain about and the low traffic time we chose to visit gave it a very intimate feeling. A very positive all around experience and I’m sure we’ll be back.

Decent Mexican restaurant. Good service. Somewhat unimaginative menu. Pretty busy at lunch time. On my last visit, I had the carnitas plate which I enjoyed. Didn’t think much of the pre-meal chips, which didn’t stop me from eating them. Watch out when you enter the restaurant. It’s about a 2 – 3 inch step up and I’m surprised that I haven’t seen more people take a tumble when entering.

Last time i was in Hayward’s jail i remember rolling by this place in the backseat of a black and white and thinking, «a taco, a margarita and a shot sure wouldn’t suck right now».”. Fast forward eight hours and I get my O.R. papers(own recognizance) so i walk across the street to make my dreams come true. Unfortunately it’s eight a.m. and its breakfast time so no tacos, no tequila, no margarita. Have no fear there would soon be a mexican sausage party in my mouth. That sounds obscene. The Chorizo with eggs, refried beans and rice was good enough to wipe the taste and memory of my jailhouse bologna sammie forever. Hopefully next time eat here will be because i’m hungry and crave some delicious home style mexican food and not because i spent the night in stone city. P. S. there’s no cavity search for a misdemeanor.

I LOVE fiesta mexicana!!! My now husband took me their 7 years ago for our first date and I’ve loved it ever since! We always get the burrito famoso because it’s HUGE and fills up the both of us; and sometimes we have to take some of it home! And the prices are very reasonable and the chips & salsa are the best! Try this place and you won’t regret it!

This little spot across the street from the police station is amazing! Boasting a full bar and restaurant, it serves up quality food at a very reasonable price. The bar has a happy hour that lasts from 3pm-7pm every weekday and also offers drink specials every night between 7pm and closing. They have a huge selection of tequila and mix some pretty tasty margaritas. If you’re looking for good food an drinks served and made by friendly people, you’ll be as big of a fan of as my friends and I have become. Oh yeah, the chips and salsa are top notch

Good Gravy! This place is amazing. One of my local haunts in the«Heart of the Bay», yeah that’s Hayward’s official motto. Food is wonderful and really cheap for what you get. They’re fast and don’t make mistakes on orders. And best part is the bar stays open a little later so my friends and I can sneak in for a night cap every now and then. One of the best in the area!

This place has definitely become my go-to place for a quick burrito fix. I work in the County building on Winton and often only have a few minutes for lunch and this place is within walking distance. I’m able to get in an out quickly if I place the order there but can also get They have great deals and are cheaper than the other place next door. I can get a wet burrito for $ 6 and it’s enough for lunch and dinner. The staff is always helpful and the food is always fresh and yummy! If you’re ever in the area, for whatever reason(I won’t judge) come get your lunch here!

I’ve often gone here for my lunch, and always it’s been swell: the salsa is delectable; the horchata as well. The specials menu boasts a combo, the grilled chicken breast which can’t be beat for price, or taste, or portions: it’s the best! My only reservations are the service, which does vary; the waitstaff is quite friendly and does try, but can be fairly forgetful, particularly when there is a bigger crowd… and hey, how come at 1pm the music gets so loud?

Okay. So I’m no longer a Fiesta Virgin. I was welcomed to this easily overlooked oasis– in fact, had I not been following my coworkers, I would have kept on driving toward the freeway! Anyway, that first experience was heavenly, and it’s name was the Fiesta Margarita. Good conversation, a happy hour and a Fiesta Platter that won’t quit– it is something to look forward to after a rough day(or week) at work. I will be happy to award Fiesta it’s 4th star once it’s waitresses are consistent in their knowledge of what is actually in their drinks! They are very nice though, and don’t mind our loud and spirited conversations.

This is my FAVORITE Mexican restaurant in Hayward(and there are about 1000). Their Carnitas Plate is AMAZING! Their salsa is spicy and flavorful. The service goes up and down — and sometimes the mariachi band can be a bit much. But — love their food.

This is my friend’s favorite Mexican restaurant. She goes to Fiesta Mexicana every time she is in town.(Overall grade: B) I’ve been here many times and they are always consistent. They have good food, quick service, and good prices. I usually order a chicken burrito and a quesadilla, both a la carte. They never let me down… both are always good! The portion sizes are good too.

Reasons my review may skew high: 1) I work across the street from this place. 2) Once I find a parking spot for the day, I am not a fan of losing it. 3) I like to stay«on campus» for lunch. 4) I loves me some Mexican food. When you add up the above, you can see I am basically a captive audience, so maybe I should go three stars. However, they earn the fourth with some of the best hand-made corn tortillas I have EVER had, along with consistent salsa that you know is made on site, on a daily basis. Their lunch special grilled chicken breast has passed my lips more often than I can count/more often than is probably healthy. I like the service a lot, but again, I go there probably once a week, and I bring lots of other people with me, so the wait staff knows us pretty well. I am not sure I would drive here from very far away, and I doubt I would go for dinner, but as a lunch spot in close proximity, it is hard to beat.
