As a Hayward native — for this town, Buffalo Bills is pretty good. I mean, it’s a definite staple of the downtown nightlife scene. But in the grand scheme of things, the place is begrudgingly average. Buffalo Bill’s definitely has the type of cool-bougie-hipster feel that a lot of the newer casual-upscale restaurants tend to have. Their branding is really good, but the place falls flat in terms of service and food. Though hiring young, alternative teeny boppers may provide some cool vibes, service can be lackadaisical; it took my friend and I 20+ minutes after we finished eating to be offered our check. The pizza I had was good, but good in the way that ALL pizza is good, if you know what I mean. It’s pretty damn hard to make the food of the Gods taste bad. But what was disappointing is the fact that this pizza had no factor that set it apart. It kinda tasted like a very good quality frozen pizza, which is of no comparison to a good quality fresh pizza. I had a bite of my friend’s fries and they were COLD and flavorless, adding to this running theme of food that doesn’t quite appear to be too fresh. Buffalo Bill’s certainly isn’t a bad place — quite a few of the other items on the menu that I’ve tried in the past have definitely been hits. And, to be honest, I’ll probably come back sometime in the future just because there aren’t a whole lot of nicer restaurants in Hayward. If Buffalo Bill’s takes the effort to smooth out the edges and commit to improving quality + service, this place will be golden.

So many empty tables, and the hostess had to sit us in the sun after waiting 15 minutes. It’s about 80 degrees today. The other staff told us it’s too late to move to another table. Our waitress still gets 20% tip because she’s nice, and we’ve been coming here for 10+ years. #MillenialProblem #NoCommonSense #LackOfDecisionMakingSkills

They’ll sit you in the sun outside so place looks crowded, common restaurant tactic„ we always ask for indoor, hostess gave wife a big sigh=strike 1 Strike 2= expensive beers, $ 7 – 8 for a pint with giant head on beer learn to pour properly Strike 3= around $ 5 to add a scoop of meat to nachos Wife’s burger over cooked Went on a Saturday around 1pm and 2 other tables had people, guys are doing something wrong for such a decent location

I’ve been here several times to give this place multiple chances but I’ve been disappointed every time. The food is way overpriced and isn’t even that flavorful. I was impressed by the oreo banana cheesecake they had but their execution is inconsistent because when I ordered it the second time, it tasted like they left out the banana from the filling and just threw a bunch of slices on top.

I’ve had some issues with this place in the past but either they’ve really improved their food in the last few years or I’ve finally figured out what’s nice to order. They brew their own beer and there are options on tap and in bottles. I usually pick one I think will be good and ask for a small sample of it, and then if I like it order a glass of that. I love that they will give you free samples to figure out what you want. You can also get a flight of beer which is fun too. The nachos are huge and loaded with toppings! It’s an extra $ 4 for chicken or $ 5 for steak. I got the chicken but I don’t think I would next time, because they don’t give you much chicken and it was so much food already. It was really good. The husband got a bills burger with pepper jack cheese and it was delicious! He also got mushrooms added and that turned out to be an extra $ 2.50, so that’s another not worth it for next time. All-in-all it’s a fun place to grab a beer and American food, and the perfect location to pair with seeing a movie at the theater across the street. They do seem to up their prices every time we go, which is my one qualm about this place. This time the pints were $ 7 and some change and each dish averaged $ 14, although I guess this is becoming normal these days.

Beer always gives me a headache. I couldn’t figure it out after going there three times for the decent food they offer. The last time my beer cup smelled and tasted like bleach. Ahhh haaaa I get it now. They suck at rinsing off the cleaning solution behind the bar. I I asked told our server please smell this glass because I smell bleach. He disagreed at first… Then I was like cmon man you gotta smell it. He then said«ohh ya a little bit… You must have pissed off one of the bartenders» then walked away! Not funny bro. I’m done here. Brats and brews across the street has way more beer selection and way better beers! That’s my new spot! Then our server had the nerve say ”

It was my first time coming here and I was pleasantly surprised! First off they asked for my phone number so they could text me when our table was ready– and get the opportunity to download an app which would show what place we were in line, so cool! The waitress/hostess seemed very kind but were in a rush and didn’t come by much if at all. There was also a waiter who was waiting tables next to us and he was awfully rude to our waitress. The food was AWESOME! We ordered the sweet potato waffle fries which were amazing! So tasty and came with ranch to dip which made it that much more amazing. They were super crispy and flavorful, yummy! The pepperoni pizza was awfully greasy– which is to be expected considering all the pepperoni grease. Sprite was a bit off but that’s pretty typical. Anyways, overall amazing food– ok service. Planning on returning very soon!

Not bad. Came here with the family for a Father’s Day lunch. It was busy but we got there early enough before the crowd came. The sweet potato fries as the appetizer was delicious and the food as well. I got the pastrami and it had thick bread and so so good. The only negative, again since it was busy, was the waitress didn’t stop by too much but anyway food is good and ambiance is okay too. Would recommend for lunch so you can sit outside on their umbrella tables.

First time here! Located in the downtown area of hayward, and surprisingly good food! Must try the Devil wings and Sicilian pizza, and pair with the Johnny Midnight Oatmeal Stout & Tazmanian Devil. Bartender was attentive and friendly :) Highly recommended!

This is my second time here. As a new resident of Hayward, I rely on Unilocal to find amazing new spots! My sister came into town, and Buffalo Bills was the choice for tonight’s dinner. She got the beer sampler and loved it! I got a glass of their Sauvignon blanc. Appetizer: 5⁄5 pita chips and hummus. It’s legit pita bread in an oven. Crispy, warm, delicious. Turkey, bacon & avocado sandwich: 5⁄5 I got it with a side of chips. Delicious My sister got the chicken pesto sandwich with fries, she also gives it a 5⁄5. The food is fresh, amazing, delicious and overall outstanding! Give it a try!

So this is the local«watering hole» for Hayward. Great place to hang out and have a beer, the appetizers are good and some of the dishes. Service tends to be slow for the most part when I have gone. The best thing here is the beer.

Sitting on the patio is quite pleasant. When it’s sunny it’s my favorite place to go. The heaters don’t always work and the staff don’t sometimes know how to make them work. Service is generally ok but not perfect. The food is nice — I like the pizza and the sandwiches. Salads could be better. Nice selection of food.

I got an allergic reaction from their combination pizza. I’m allergic to olives and I told them no olives. The waiter said they didn’t put olives on it but explain to me why my whole body broke out in hives??? My breathing was obstructed but not enough to get sent to ER. I’m so upset! I could’ve got sent to the hospital if it wasn’t for my sister(RN) treating me when I got home. Clearly shows how they cut corners or bad communication within their employees to cooks!!!

It’s been years since I came here to Buffalo Bill’s. It’s pretty much the same as ever, except not really. The biggest difference was the area got a lot busier over the years. I remember Buffalo Bills was a one room restaurant with a bunch of brew kettles in the back. Then, they took over the next door, then, outside seating. The food and the beers however, had not change, still great. The service was still good, even though I thought our server probably was about 4 deep by then. We had pizza and sandwiches all the way around. My son had a kids pepperoni pizza, which was almost as big as the regular size. Cheese board, homemade potato chips, pastrami sandwiches, more pizza, all of it was great. Please come with an open tastebuds for beer as they have great beers only for their brewery. I had a hard time locating their beers elsewhere so I was great getting a couple of different ones I haven’t had in a long time.

We rolled in here with a party of eight. They have an extensive beer selection, many brewed there and typical bar fare. The wait staff is friendly, but the attentiveness isn’t consistent. We ordered the fried zucchini, nachos with steak, chicken wings and a slice of cheesecake. The zucchini and chicken wings were awesome. Neither was super greasy. The chicken wings were juicy, flavored mildly and didn’t need sauce. Cheesecake never disappoints. The nachos were good too but nothing really special. They had black beans, cheese, tomatoes and jalapeños– pretty basic. The servers were friendly, but I noticed empty tables loaded with dirty dishes from customers who’d left long before we were seated. That is pretty much what happened to our table too. Every plate and dish we ordered was left on the table at the end of our meal. I felt like we were at a crappy Chinese restaurant where they wait until you’re finished consuming your meal and THEN proceed to buss the table. Good luck trying to get a refill on your water. Buffalo Bill’s has potential, but I have no reason to return with better alternatives in the vicinity.

Jalapeño poppers, OMG the jalapeño poppers, I am drooling just thinking about them. They are wrapped in puff pastry and baked instead of breaded and fried, then cut in half and served with ranch dressing. I could order just a plate of that and have it all to my self for dinner. They also have several different burgers and pizzas offered. The carne pizza is super meaty, smoky and salty and has a big bacon punch. The burgers they actually ask how you would like them cooked, which already sets them apart from most places. The burgers are messy not super juicy but loaded down with toppings, personally I would prefer fewer toppings and a juicer burger. We also ordered a flight of on tap beer offerings, they came in cute little glasses. They are barley large enough to split between two people, only a two sips per person but it is a good way to figure out what you like best. I like how you are also able to buy six packs of the beer of your choice to take home. Try the pumpkin beer it is one of the best out there. This is the first microbrewery pub I have been, it was neat that you could see the tanks and they have labels so you know what they are working on. Neat little place that has that comfy slightly worn in feeling that feels like you have been coming here for years. The place is a bit expensive I felt like each dish could have been 1 – 3 dollars cheaper or at least have a lunch menu.

I came here with my girl for lunch on a Saturday. When we first walked in the place was busy and lively. The place has a lively and energetic feel to it. We sat outside on the patio to avoid the wait inside. It was a cold and windy day but they had tons of heaters and a liner around the patio so it was nice and toasty. The service was very good and upbeat. We ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and the bacon onion burger, both were very delicious and filling, plus I thought portion sizes were generous. Our server checked on us regularly and made sure our glasses didn’t stay empty for long. We definitely enjoyed our lunch and left very full and content. Prices are a little high but I feel like you get what you pay for. I am looking forward to coming back and trying something else. Almost everything on the menu looked delicious.

Great place to talk. Meet and see awesome middle class people. Laid back, casual and people usually spend two to three hours at a table. Ordered the calamari appetizer and friend ordered the jalapeño poppers appetizer. Both were excellent. Also ordered the jalapeño burger and beer. Friend got the devil mix beer and I got the hefeweizen similarity. Had a great time! I got to air out life :)

I’ve only heard of this place like twice in my life. It’s located right in the heart of Hayward, along a street lined with many other eateries, a movie theater and shopping. There is plenty of parking right behind the restaurant and a unmarked entrance through the back. The restaurant is decked out with beer brewing tanks and barrels. To go along with this rustic refinery look are wooden tables, a sports bar top with television sets all around and outdoor seating that lines the front and one side of the restaurant. The lighting is warm and dim and sets a casual, yet intimate dining ambiance. We came by at night when the streets were lit with white string lights and decided to sit on the patio to enjoy the view. There were heaters everywhere which kept us warm and cozy. The hostess and servers were casual and non-intrusive– they didn’t push the over-accommodation as other restaurant servers do, but still got all of our order and food out in a timely manner with no hassle. We ordered a sample/flight of their tap brews, which is always a good idea if you’re dining at a brewery restaurant. They had their regular beers along with seasonal beers in the sampler, which was nice. All excellent! Food was delicious! We ordered Devil’s wings that came with two sides of sauces and garnished with cilantro/parsley(couldn’t tell). These all paired so well, along with the beer! Savory heavy Sicilian pizza topped with sausage and nice juicy slices of tomatoes and to cut this greasy deliciousness with a fresh and crisp Gogonzola salad with mixed greens in a nice vinaigrette, topped with fresh apple slices, walnuts, chunks of bleu cheese and red onions. Drown all of this down with a Buffalo Bill’s IPA and you’re good for the night! This is a great place for dining out with friends! I will be coming back to try everything else on the menu.

November 13, 2015 Friday — 9:15PM for drinks 4 adults Atmosphere — 5 star Food & Drinks — 4 stars Service — 4 stars Background — Our third brewery tonight! Atmosphere — Old school brew pub. Friday night had a wait to get a table, even at 9. Mix of booths and tables, in a dimly lit. Food & Drinks — Started with their Alimony Ale, solid beer. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich. It had a feel of you eating a steak sandwich, it is a good size piece of chicken. I love buffalo chicken, you know the stuff on the bone. This is a good sandwich to replace that need for the chicken wings. Service — They were solid. A little hard to ding the staff on this but service is all aspects. The menu color is poor choice in a dimly lit place. Best way to understand this issue is that they use a white font color. Future — Love to.

Food: 4 Service: 4 Cleanliness: 4 Atmosphere: Casual, loud and very masculine Buffalo Bill’s Brewery and I were established in the same year. If you asked me, I would say anything born in 1983 is golden in my eyes. In other words they can do no wrong… …ha! I’m only kidding. Seriously though this place has got it going on for staying in the game that long and still having a ton of tables full on a Tuesday afternoon. So a few things I would tell you about dining here, if it’s your first time, the portions are large! So far, from what I gather, you can split a salad with someone else or take the second half home for a second meal. Also, don’t skip the sweet potato waffle fries. They are worth every single bit of calories that you’ll end up consuming. They were either super fresh or smothered in a ton of cooking oil. I’m not sure which, but I enjoyed them thoroughly. The butter lettuce mixed in the Caramelized Peach salad was heavenly. Tasted like the lettuce was just brought in from the farm. Wow. Our waiter was nice and so were the other staff. Apparently they were all established in 1983, because it said so on their shirts– once again they could no harm. All wonderful and amazing with good vibes. Would I return? Not while I’m trying to keep my body toned and slender! But very good food. You could probably modify orders to be healthier, but those sweet potato waffle fries were so good, I just wouldn’t be able to resist… Enjoy!
