There is some type of casing on the chicken lule. It was chewy and dry, I would have tossed it if I wasn’t as hungry as I was.

Excellent food. and service. The chicken and beef(#26) combo was truly exceptional. The hummus was the best I’ve ever had. This place lived up to the 5-star rating. Try this place!

Excellent catering service and banquet facility! They hosted our daughter’s baptism party. Food and service were superb especially the very juicy boneless chicken and tender koobideh paired with the fresh persian salad and tasty hummus. Mike, the manager, even provided additional food like fettuccine alfredo for the kids, chicken fajita, extra basmati rice(to rice lovers like our Filipino guests) and a lot more! Everybody enjoyed the chocolate fountain with fresh fruits and other sweet treats! They catered to all our needs and made us feel like we were having our own party at home. All the staff were very accommodating and friendly. And Mike gave us the best deal ever! I would highly recommend Peris restaurant!

I used to come here all the time. The manager is super nice. But last time I went I got food poisoning from the free hummus. I noticed that it tasted sour but I ate it all anyways. Few hours later I had a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and felt weak. I used to love hummus. Now the thought of eating hummus at all makes me sick. I was sick for about 3 – 4 days.

My favorite place to get Persian food like Shish kabobs and hummus. A wide variety of people eat here so don’t think it’s a Persian only spot. The prices are very reasonable and portions are good. I really like the beef Shish kabob or chicken kobideh. Don’t forget to ask for the garlic spread. Makes the delicious food even better.

I am going to post a very honest review. The food here is very unique. We ordered the Salmon plate, Chicken Kabob plate. The Salmon plate– Usually salmon is served as a 1 – 2 inch thick piece of fish. Their salmon however was served as a very thin square like looking piece of fish. I had never seen this before. It was not very juicy and was in fact on the drier side. There were no significant seasonings or flavors that stood out to me other than that it was grilled. On the menu it states that the salmon comes with soup or salad so I opted for the salad. I did think it was strange that it did not come with rice or anything being that this is a Persian/Iranian restaurant, and I LOVE rice. I made sure to tell the Manager(who was also out waiter), that I had a severe dairy and egg allergy. I am not sure if he was listening to me, because even after the second time I mentioned my allergy and asked what dressing I can order with the salad he offered me: RANCH, HONEYMUSTARD, ANDBLEUCHEESE. REALLY? The salad that came out I am 98% sure was an Iceberg blend of lettuce. You know, the kind that you buy from Ralphs or Vons in the plastic bags that has the carrots, red onion, and radish in it” The Italian dressing tasted almost identical to Wishbone or KRAFT store bought dressing. YUCK. Right before our food came out the manager came out and said«Do you like rice?» «I am giving you rice with your salmon» and I said okay sure, and appreciated the complimentary gesture. When the rice came out I realized it was a rice pilaf blend? With carrots in it and other veggies and chicken broth? I was a bit confused, I thought I ordered a Persian salmon plate, so I expected the white/yellow rice, not American tasting rice. I guess that is my fault for assuming. He also brought me a DAIRY based dip. WHY??? Chicken Kabob plate– Seemed to be juicy, although the manager did admit that they put butter on their chicken kabob. WHY? Juices from chicken give a natural seasoning. To put butter on it makes it unhealthy to me grilled Persian or Iranian food should not be slathered in dairy. Or at least the Persian food I’ve had before did not come with butter on the meat. The meal came with the white/yellow rice that I tasted and was actually pretty good. No veggies though(expect one large under grilled tomatoes), which is disappointing because I think the meal should have come with a good amount of veggies. The manager was extremely nice, and offered complimentary Persian salad, which was delicious, and hummus with the Unilocal check in offer. The hummus was DELICIOUS!!! He also offered ME complimentary BUTTERED garlic bread, which was nice but I told him already three times that I have a dairy allergy. Again, being friendly is appreciated but make sure you are really listening to what your guests are telling you. The garlic bread smell completely threw my taste buds off. I may be ignorant with Persian food and Iranian food but garlic bread just reminds me of Italian or American food. He also offered complementary dessert which was good. All in all I think this place needs to find an identity and really take note of what customers like and re-order. I felt that he should have acknowledged my food allergy the first time I mentioned it and he didn’t. The friendliness will not cover up the poor quality of food and dis-organization. Good luck!

Very glad to have found a good Persian restaurant near our home. We were greeted by Mike, who is very warm and friendly. We ordered two appetizers and two chicken koobideh meals. The hummus and eggplant appetizers were delicious, and Mike brought an extra appetizer(gratis), which was a cucumber salad. All three were delicious. The chicken koobideh also was great, At the end, Mike offered dessert, which we passed on. He still brought us some baklava to take with us(also gratis) which was very good too. In the end, a very good experience not only with the food but with the staff as well. I read some the reviews for this restaurant before we came, and am glad I did not pay much attention to the few negative and off the wall reviews some people gave. I understand some people may not like something about an experience, but I find it hard to believe that an experience could be bad from beginning to end, as previous reviewers have described. With our experience, the food was delicious, the environment was very clean, and Mike and his staff that were there were prompt, courteous, and what you would hope for when you are out to eat. Don’t hesitate to give this place a try!

I came here at about 11:21am to get some food to go from a favorite place before I take my kids to LA. While I was looking at the menu, I asked for the lunch special or lunch menu. The server pointed out the menu and kept pointing out the breakfast menu. I informed him i do not eat that and Im not interested, I want lunch. He then flipped the menu to the chicken and beef section. The server behind the cashiers desk gave me another menu and he stated its for dine in only and its only Monday to Friday. I was letting him know why I cannot dine in and if there are any other options he can help me with. He kept talkin over me and does not stop. He wont even let me choose what I want from it. I then told him«let me choose and please stop I dont wanna hear anymore explaining or talking». He then said«ill get someone else to help you».I was upset because I have 2 toddlers running around, driving all day already no sleep etc and the last thing Id need is a server who talks more than my mother! Another server explained the boss is not there and I told him about the argument. Every server was speaking in Spanish which made me feel like they must be talking about me. We got our food and left. When we opened it, the rice was overcooked, slimy and almost smelled rotten. My daughter found 2 strands of hair on her rice too. I didnt get onions. Very bad service. The man who usually serves I believe was the owner always give excellent service. I hate throwing food away but I had to. I almost threw up. I didnt expect this at all. Very disappointed.

This is to update mt recent review. I believe the event was something that is inconsistent with how management would normally run their business and a single one time incident. Management immediately addressed the concern that my we had on that Sunday and promised to ensure that there will be consistency on the quality of customer service given going forward. It was due to a server that is not well acquainted with how customer service should really be. The manager is familiar to me and I know for a fact the kind of grear quality service he provides to everyone, making sure all that comes out from his restaurant is well prepared and delicious. My family continues to patronize their restaurant and the delicious favorites are the same juicy tender koobidehs and fluffy rice. My favorite borani did not change. All is well. See you for my big order for my meeting in few weeks. Thank you.

I may be exaggeration but honestly dinner here was amazing all around. The owner Mike made sure to welcome my friend and I right in. My FIRST time here btw and I have NEVERRR experienced such great service. Not even Disneyland can beat this kind of service. I got the charbroiled chicken breast and rice it was delicious. The rice nice and fluffy, the chicken cooked nicely, not tough at all. Juicy chicken and I asked for a grilled jalapeño because I need my food spicy. Great job Mike you’re doing it right by asking your customers if everything’s alright which is an open door to those«tough customers» that way they can be heard right off the bat in case anything is not up to the«tough customers» standards.

Came here today for my sister’s wedding dinner and everything was fantastic. It was about 15 of us and they started us off with water and tea. Shortly after they brought us our appetizers. Everything came out quick and delicious! The hummus and pita bread were exceptional. The owner mike was fantastic with us– very funny and welcoming. He informed us on the most popular food items and even brought out complementary rice pudding dishes for each of us when we told him we were celebrating. The service was over all great and so was the food, just wish it wasn’t so far it we would definitely be regulars!

This place is so insanely good I had to write an update. I get the filet mignon and koobideh every single time because it’s so amazing. Great price — especially when it comes with filet mignon in nice, big juicy pieces. The owner is so friendly and nice, he makes coming to the restaurant a pleasure with his welcoming nature. The hummus is a must order — tastes so fresh and smooth. There is also a great amount of pita to go with it so it’s worth ordering. I’ve never been able to finish an entire meal there, so really, you are paying a good price for dinner and getting a leftover lunch out of the deal. We live near CSULB and drive all the way here when we are craving Persian food. So happy I found this place through Unilocal

I started coming here since they opened not too long ago. Their prices are higher and their portions are smaller than other places. Their food has just gotten bad now, the rice seems like there is water in it, ghormeh sabzi had no flavor at all and tasted old with 2 small pieces of meat for $ 12 and then we got a burned piece of kabob how does that even happen… with half a container of rice. Even my grandma started complaining and she loved this place. No more, I’ll take the trip elsewhere.

What a great find! If your looking for some great kabobs, look no further. Peris is the place for some of the best tasing kabobs! I’ve been coming to Peris since it’s original location in Norwalk. I was pleased when they moved to their new location in Hawaiian Gardens and the food was still delicious as ever! I’ve ordered so many different entrees here and I have yet to be disappointed. Everything is always so fresh, hot, burst in flavors and trust me when I say it lives up to Unilocal 4.5 star rating review. My favorite entrée is the steak and chicken kabobs. The hummus is excellent and you can’t go wrong with any appetizer. The service is consistent and the prices are great. For the low prices, you are definitely getting your money’s worth. If you haven’t already been here, it’s a must!

I like the concept of this restaurant. Full American menu and full persian menu. The persian food selection was better than I anticipated. I have been here multiple times and I am always satisfied when I order the persian fokd. The American menu is not bad either. It’s the same type of food you would find in any mom and pop diner. Nothing special. This place is awesome for the simple fact that they offer full menu of two different types of fare. That’s a stoners paradise

Perhaps my favorite Persian restaurant because of their exquisite preparation of the chicken kabab and beef koobideh dishes. Even the barberry and saffron mixed basmati rice is amazing! Infused with flavor and a wonderful aroma. The koobideh kabab — which is a Persian minced meat kabab made from ground lamb, beef or chicken, then mixed with minced parsley and chopped onions — and the boneless chicken are my clear favorite dishes. Chicken is a hit-n-miss dish at Mediterranean restaurants, where it is cooked on a spit or charbroiled, because it tends to be dry. So it is a rare treat to find chicken this tender and juicy, especially with boneless chicken. And the flavor is out-of-this-world! My recommended dishes would be any one of their nine combination plates: #25 Koobideh Combination, $ 11.49 and the #26 Boneless Chicken and Koobideh, $ 12.49. All combination plates are delicious and could easily feed two people. The appetizers, a choice of seven, are superb. My favorites are the Persian salad, hummus, borani and falafel. Prices range from $ 4.99 to $ 7.99. A Persian Platter, $ 11.99, gives you a choice of three($ 16.99 for five choices). I would avoid the beef shish kabob. It is a lesser quality meat: a much chewier consistency and tougher texture. The boneless chicken barg also lacks the flavor and juiciness of the koobideh. The Vegetarian Fesenjoon, $ 11.99(boiled chicken could be added for $ 12.99) — cooked walnuts in pomegranate sauce — is a type of Persian stew that was sweet and tart like the fruit it is made from. A unique dish, especially in the form of a soup or stew, was not at all bad but I did not quite acquire a taste for it. There are also a wide menu of items you would often associate with an American diner: including breakfast staples like pancakes, sausage, bacon and hashbrown, plus hamburgers, sandwiches, soups and salads. There is something for the entire family at Peris, from the Mediterranean cuisine enthusiasts to the non-adventurous looking for familiar American comfort foods. Service is friendly yet can improve. Staff is very warm and gracious. The owner and manager Michael will always make certain guests feel right at home. I personally feel, however, that they are in need of more servers. My guess is this would cut the wait time and speediness of service, otherwise excellent hospitality. The restaurant is big and roomy, able to accommodate large parties and has a private room for banquets. There are a few large widescreen TV’s mounted throughout the restaurant and even offer free Wi-Fi. From Long Beach to Anaheim, you will not need to travel far west of the 91 Freeway to find some of the best in Mediterranean food and Peris Restaurant should be in the conversation as one of the top choices.

Five stars for the food. Three stars for the service equal four stars overall. Let me say right off the bat that the food was excellent! My wife and I even asked for a salad that was displayed on the menu, but not on the menu and they were happy to make it for us. Other than the delicious salad, I ordered the dark meat chicken with a chicken kobideh and an extra beef kobideh on the side. The dish came out fresh, hot, and delicious! Complimentary pita bread and butter was good too. Would have been even better if they had brought out some raw onion with it next time. Will have to ask since most Persian places don’t seem to do that anymore. My wife and I will certainly be back for the great food as this is a local spot for us and a perfect place to get some really really good Persian food. My three stars on the service is due to the fact that we sat and waited and waited and waited to have our drinks refilled and I ended up having to get up and go find the waitress to give her my credit card to pay. I prefer a server to be a bit more attentive and not have to feel like I have been abandoned at the table! In her defense, they were getting ready for a really big party /event. She was friendly when we did see her.

Chicken Kebab are so juicy and tender and AMAZING! Me and my bf’s first time and he was impressed by the persian plates. The humus and pita was pretty good. The bolani was very flavorful and yummy with the pita bread. The food took a bit while to come for only two tables at the time. However our server was very kind always smiling, we loved it! Service here is beautiful! The baklava didnt impress us however and the alfredo fettucini was soupy and not flavorful with it’s sauce. So I had to knock off a star.

Delicious food, but service was so slow! We came in for lunch after seeing the great reviews on Unilocal.Because I checked in, we got a free hummus and pita appetizer, so that was nice. I ordered the koobideh combo, which was a chicken koobideh skewer(ground chicken) and a beef koobideh skewer(ground beef) with saffron rice and a grilled tomato. For $ 11.49, the portion was massive and it was delicious! My mom got a chicken shish kebab and really enjoyed it. Our only complaint is the service. We were only 1 of 3 occupied tables in the restaurant, and it took a long time to have our order taken, and then to get our food, and then to get the check. I didn’t see a lot of hustle from the waitstaff. The food was definitely good, but I probably wouldn’t bring friends here, because they’d be too aggravated by the slow service.

In my last visit, I came on a Sunday night, and the place was far from jumping. I was really hoping for success to come to the place, as the food was good and affordable. Fast forward almost year, and I came here for lunch on a Saturday. I was so happy to see the place pretty filled up with groups of people in the main area and the back dining area. As we were getting seated, owner Mike came out of the banquet room and warmly greeted us. What a surprise! I think he remembered us? If he didn’t, he sure gave us the warmest welcome ever. We sat down and I ordered my usual«go to» Persian combo: the number 26, the boneless chicken with the beef koubideh and diet coke. Stephen had the chicken and beef koubideh combo. While waiting, Mike came out with a plate of hummus and a huge basket of piping hot pita bread. The hummus was so good! We had to stop ourselves from scarfing down the bread and hummus. Moments later our lunch came out. The boneless chicken was so juicy. I gave Stephen a bite and he commented that the kitchen really stepped up their game since our last visit… it was THAT good! We were really impressed on our lunch. While waiting for the check, we shared a baklava and Persian tea. An excellent lunch with affordable prices AND great portions!

«Peris the love we have, for as long as we both shall live. Peris the love, Peris the life, Peris the love.» — Parody of «Cherish», Kool & the Gang Peris Restaurant is a Persian restaurant which also offers up American comfort food — burgers, sandwiches, classic dinner entrees like chicken fried steak & all day breakfast. Previously located nearby Alondra & Bloomfield, Peris Restaurant now occupies the former location of Phở So 1. Whenever I drive by, I notice Peris Restaurant’s signage displaying their French toast special for $ 3.99, M-F till 11am. Having the urge to dine here since many moons ago, I finally two-stepped my way in for a meal. French toast special /$ 3.99(hash brown substitution for $ 1 more) — 2 eggs my way, sunny side up, 2 bacon & hashbrowns. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the crispity crunchity strips of bacon providing the unctuous fat & saltiness & the filling starch of hashbrowns bringing it all home. A great deal for a hearty breakfast. Add a liberal slathering of Cholula & breakfast was on! Free hummus or maust’khiar with check-in! Per the recommendation of the owner, I went with the hummus. Good thing I did! A very generous plate of creamy hummus, accompanied by pita bread, welcomed me. The texture was angelic & went well with my meal. Coulda used a little more brightness, but tasty nonetheless. Red & white wine, along with beer, are the available libations for those that want to partake in a tipple. Service was great! The owner was very friendly & hospitable, constantly with a smile on his face. He checked up on me repeatedly, making sure I was having a pleasant experience. Ready to refill my drinks, he made dining here a joy. Plentiful seating, with comfy booths & tables for groups & bar seating available as well. A free banquet room for up to 200 people is available to reserve for special occasions. The owner invited met to have a look & I was impressed. I can visualize using the banquet room for future gatherings. Parking is in a private lot. Peris Restaurant is located on the corner of Norwalk & Carson, next to Plato’s Closet. I Peris the opportunity to dine at Peris Restaurant again. The $ 3.99 French toast special w/hash brown substitution was a delicious breakfast for cheap. The complimentary hummus with check-in could be a meal unto itself for those with smaller appetites, which doesn’t include me ;p I’m eager to have a go with the enticing offerings of Persian cuisine on the menu. I’ll be back! Highly recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
