Always a blast on the weekends. After 7 pm its karaōke time! My kids and I sing. The regulars are very nice. Usually we are the only people singing in English but everybody has fun. I love the Sunday night server. She is so nice to my kids. The food is pretty good for seafood. Decent for everything else. Good prices. It’s the atmosphere and entertainment we really dig though. Bare bones and singing.

Have not tried the traditional Mexican food plates but what I can say is that the seafood is great. I just had a tostada mixta a la diabla en la parilla, the best! Very spicy and hot… Oysters, fish and the shrimp here are also very good.

Searching for the perfect taco hasn’t been easy since I moved into the area. I went to taco place just across the street from this place(they had greasy tacos and rude employees). I didn’t realize that just down the street from me was this hidden gem! Perfect large carne asada tacos for around two bucks each, no grease and perfectly seasoned. Service is great, we were seated instantly, grea chips and salsa and the waitress was really sweet. We each had three filling tacos, my mistake was not capturing a photo so you can see for yourself. I will be back and update soon. trust me, these are good, my search for the perfect taco is over!

I kept going back and forth between 3 and 4 stars. The décor and the environment were a little unwelcoming. I probably wouldn’t have tried this place out but my gf likes going here. She works at Hawaiian Gardens and someone at work introduced this spot to her. I don’t know about the rest of the food. The nacho/chips were fresh and crunchy, the ceviche was delicious and the michelada’s made it all go down so easy. My gf told me at night on the weekends, people go up and sing karaōke. Lots of people drinking and socializing. All and all, definitely will come back and check out the other items on the menu. Until then, I’ll stick by 3 stars

I expected to write a review about the piercingly loud music or the jovially drunk clientele, maybe the massive amount of food that I accidentally ordered. But I got back to the car and dug into my delicious meal and couldn’t stop thinking of the homeless guy at the gas station just a few feet away. «How can I, a guy who has been blessed with so much abundance sit here and not offer that guy some?» So I got out and offered him some. He seemed relieved and was so very grateful and so effusive in his thanks and for a while we both sat down, me in my car and he next to his shopping cart and we dug in. A few minutes later he gets up and starts waving at me and pointing. I get out and he explains that his friend lives in the dumpster 10 feet from us. He says his friend is sick and that he was cold last night and he loaned him a blanket and asks if it would be alright if he shared his meal with his friend in the dumpster. I was floored. I enjoy so much ease and so much abundance and am sometimes so idiotically tightfisted and here this homeless man who owns nothing of value is sharing one of the best things he has with a friend that would never have known had that generosity been withheld. I stood and talked with Mikey for 20 minutes more and when I eventually mentioned that I was getting cold he began to unzip his jacket and he offered it to me. I began to tear up. It was incredibly humbling but it was good to be reminded of how generous God has been to me and to consider how tiny and inconsequential most of the things that I worry about really are. 2013 #83 /365
