Remember back in the ‘90s…you’d need to copy some important documents, maybe your classmates notes, a book, etc… there were huge signs in the windows of your local drug store, video store, even liquor stores advertising copies for as little as 3 cents(most were 5 cents). You’d make your copies and go to the cashier and tell him«14 pages»…he’d total it with tax and you’d be on your way. What ever happened to that? In 1994, I made a lot of copies… and the Carson Pioneer Market was one of those spots… Making copies got me there and then I’d grab a 1 liter bottle of Pepsi and be on my way… I went 2 weeks ago looking for some thug necessities… They didn’t have what I was looking for. In 2009, this liquor store still sits here, however there isn’t much there to draw me in. Unfortunately, the only thing that makes this liquor store unique these days is the parking… this liquor store is neighbors with a medical clinic and shares it parking lot with the local hospital( ), so it is filled with tons of dips and speed bumps. The agressive use of speed bumps may also be to slow the Asian and the elderly traffic coming from the Hawaiian Gardens Casino as well as the Hawaiian Gardens Bingo Club which used to use this parking lot in the past. OK, back to the liquor store… The place is dusty and could use some work. Although there are some off brands of liquor that I’d be curious to experiment with, I really have no interest in going back here. This store, this plaza and this city could all use some work!
