I have been to Water Edge’s brunch buffet several times. My mom is a Hitlon Vacation timeshare holder, so we come here once in a while when we stay in the timeshare nearby. Price: $ 29.99 for adults Best parts of the buffet: –omelette bar(be prepared to wait) — juice selection(3 – 4 to choose from, I thought the passion fruit orange juice was the best) — fruit offered like pappaya Mediocre: — salad selection(not much variety for veggies, and they have 2 dressings which were both empty the hour I was there) — bacon was ok, it sits in a tub under heat lamps Service was a bit slow, we had to ask for coffee several times from the server before being served. There’s nothing really special about this spot, they do try to cater to everyone by including rice porridiges that Japanese favor for breakfast. It be nice if they included salmon lox, ham, and more of a variety of hot foods. Hot foods included: scrambled eggs, sausage links, potatoes, and biscuits & gravy.

For the price of the buffet it should have a better selection, I also think if your staying at the resort you should get some sort of discount. We got breakfast vouchers which is the only reason we went here, other wise we wouldn’t have ate here.

We had breakfast here every morning of our stay at the Hilton. Yes it is expensive(as is most everything in Hawaii) but there are a couple of options to stay some coin here and in the end I thought we got good value for our dollar spent. If you arrive before 7am, you can get an early bird savings of $ 8 per person. I have also seen folks using some coupons but not sure where they got them. For us, we were given a conference discount for our meeting being held here. There are plenty of tables and no problem being seated without wait. Servers will hook you up with coffee immediately if needed and then you are on your own to grab what you want. In the far corner, they have a decent selection of fresh fruit(pineapple, honey dew, cantaloupe, papaya), yogurt, oatmeal stations with lots of goodies to add in and a wide selection of breads including home made muffins of various flavors(pineapple, coconut and mango). I tried them all and the coconut is my favorite. Along the adjacent wall is a toast/muffin area with various slices of breads and muffins to toast. My wife suggests using the conveyor machine as opposed to the toasters which are finicky. If you have some time and are seated close to the toasters, watch folks occasionally stick metal knives in these electrical devices to retrieve a stuck item. The main tables offer up scrambled eggs, various sausages, bacon, potatoes and on alternating days pancakes or french toast. Pro tip, go to the omelet station if you want scrambled eggs. Close to the main door, you can find the chef to get that custom made omelet. Out in the seating area is the juice station offering pineapple, orange, guava and POG(mix of the other three). There are also some options for Japanese visitors that I didn’t pay close attention to. I found the fruit to be fresh and enjoyed the different muffins they offer. I would load up on the bacon because it’s bacon and it’s delicious. I tried the pancakes and french toast but would probably skip those as they are pre-cooked and sit in a steamed drawer all morning getting soggy. My go to main dish was scrambled eggs from the omelet chef. There are kids running all around this place. I particularly enjoy the ones whose eyes are larger than their stomachs. I saw one boy with his plate stacked high of pancakes, english muffins and at least a pound of bacon. Hopefully others at his table could help him finish that off and not waste food. Service was usually quite attentive refreshing coffee and picking up used dishes. You pay your server when you finish and a tip would be nice for their hard work. We could usually get in and out of here in 45 minutes taking our time eating and making a couple of trips up to the food area.

To buffet or not to buffet, that is the important question. To make things simple, a couple of friends of mine and I dined here on Saturday, June 27 for breakfast after walking aimlessly around the Hilton Waikoloa Village resort. The Water’s Edge is a large dining room that chauffeurs many hotel guests of the Hilton Waikoloa to their many food desires and fantasies. However, I can’t say that breakfast here was all that. It was a conservative breakfast that’s basically upgraded with an ambiance that was nice and spacious. The restaurant space was quite nice, almost like the Oceanarium restaurant at the Pacific Beach Hotel in Waikiki. They have waiter service and all that, which was expected obviously. It was a casual Saturday morning and a great day to not be anywhere but here with friends who love to travel and rock marathons at the drop of a hat. We decided on the buffet versus ordering from the menu, as you can get greater value for the $$. The overall experience here was quite good, but can be as average and plain vanilla as you can get. As luck would have it, the server of ours was local and he engaged us in conversation about local area customs and other chit chat. It was cool to remember stories from my childhood about these things, but for my friends from the mainland, they love to hear these kinds of things. It added value to our experience here and that was fun and enjoyable. The Water’s Edge was as clean and meticulously organized as you can get. Quite swanky. The Water’s Edge is located near the convention center at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. We all had our Hilton HHonors food vouchers with us, so we used them for this meal. It would be weird to eat here and not be a Hilton guest, but stranger things probably did happen. They accept major credit cards here, so that’s always a plus. The public(paid) parking space near the hotel is good for both guests and visitors to the hotel. It was basically self service for the buffet, but everyone knew that. The buffet itself was $ 30, which included basic American options. Eggs, bacon, potatoes. Pretty much the works. They also had fresh fruit and pastries in the adjoining room for good measure. I found myself taking down two plates before calling it quits. They even had miso soup and other deliciousness nearby, but I didn’t get a chance to have that. The ambiance of the Water’s Edge was comfortable, nice, and inviting. For what it was worth, the buffet was of value, but kind of overpriced. It was nice to overkill in the calories for the day, just because you’re just on vacation and relaxing is the most important thing ever. Still, The Water’s Edge was a nice slice of heaven to be in, but for the price you pay, it will be worth it. It just wasn’t right for me — especially when I’m just used to McDonald’s, Denny’s, and other conveniently cheaper fast food diners while traveling and on the go. It’s worth it if you are staying here at the Hilton Waikoloa Village and don’t want to think where to go or what to eat, as the entire complex can cater to your every whim. Just gotta pay for it. I would say that it’s not worth the price you pay, but it’s convenient. 3.0 stars, rounded to 3.5. Nothing spectacular about this place. The food quality was okay and the service was better. This is SONOTWORTHIT! The food is sub-par at best, and the quality of the food is low. Hot foods are not really hot /cold foods are not as cold as they should be… frustrating! Positives: servers are all very sweet and accommodating(TIPTHEM, PEOPLE!), biscuits with warm strawberry syrup, miso soup, Japanese accoutrements, fried rice(some days, but not all days), fresh fruit(but not the watermelon) and the pineapple muffins. Don’t buy the buffet /hotel package! Save your money and go to the Waikoloa coffee stands(2 at the hotel) — I recommend the ice tea and blueberry muffin(ask them to warm up your muffin for and added treat!)…after tipping you will still have $ 20 more in your pocket!

Really expensive breakfast. About $ 30. The omelet bar was awesome!!! They set it up with spinach, mushroom, tomatoes, onion, bacon, ham, you can add cheddar, jack or mixed cheese to your egg or egg white omelet. The rest of the set up was pretty standard every day, bacon, sausage, soggy eggs, biscuit & gravy, fruit and lots of sweet pastries. The country potatoes were great! The sweet doughnuts were good as well.

Very disappointed with Hilton. As Diamond status, they say we get free breakfast, if all you eat is a bowl of oatmeal, or fruit and toast but you must choose one or the other. This is hardly breakfast! Quite misleading. When I stay art any other Hilton hotel, you get full access all food for breakfast, not so here. The food is nothing special, exact same food as at all their other hotels except very expensive($ 30). TIP: take the shuttle to the market place and bring your own food in. You will save hundreds of dollars.

The buffet is not very good. I had high hopes for the omelet bar but it was not good either. Coffee is horrible. Potato’s were cold. Not a huge section.

This buffet is the only option for a full breakfast if you are staying at the Hilton. Well, breakfast being my favorite meal of the day, I was excited to try this place the first day we go there. The food was just ok, not a good selection and definitely not fresh. The omelet station was a nice touch, but again, not a lot of choices when it came to ingredients to put in the omelet. The coffee was so bad that I couldn’t even drink it… and I am not a coffee snob. It must have been an old brew or something, because I couldn’t take more than one sip. The worst part of the experience was the price. $ 62 plus tip… for a so-so breakfast. Methinks not! We decided not to blow our money there again, went to the store and bought breakfast foods which we kept in our hotel room. We saved our money for cocktails at the Malolo Lounge! Must better spent there!

Not a lot of selection for a Saturday morning buffet. Nothing WOW’d me. They did NOT have pancakes or waffles(the things my kids wanted) They did have: Omelet station — this guy was fast, he was able to get 5 orders going at once. Biscuits and Gravy– very yummy — biscuits were soft, warm and fluffy. Sausage gravy. Scrambled Eggs, sausage, bacon, hash, french toast. Bread, bagels, muffins. Steel cut oatmeal, lots of fruit, Dry cereal selection. Asian station was great. I was surprised at how good the Chicken Jook was. Usually it is flavorless and you have to add all kinds of stuff to it. This was tasty and all I added was cilantro. I had 2 bowls, my daughter had 1 too.

There was only one option for a full breakfast during my stay at the Hilton — and they did a decent job overall. The service was excellent and very friendly. My omelet was under-cooked, but since the line was slightly long I just ate the edges that were cooked well and moved on. They did offer a great selection of fresh local fruit(Apple-Banana combo was a nice surprise) and freshly squeezed juices — I kept refilling on the pineapple! I also found myself addicted to their Monkey Bread which was perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Overall solid breakfast — expect to pay around $ 25 a person.

Came here in June 2009 while on Part 1 of Summer Vacation in Hawaii. I always enjoy staying at the Hilton while on the island. This visit I stayed just for one night. Woke up early in the morning to have brunch here with my bff. In a nut shell, I enjoyed my breakfast here, they had an omellete station… which is what I went straight for. From assorted muffins, tradional eggs and things, fruits and cereals… they also have a japanese section, like miso soup etc which is where all the japanese tourist were going gaga over. What they didn’t have which I was craving for was portuguese sausage… which is a local favorite of mines… but I guess they pull towards the touristy side and serve chicken apple sausage instead. They also have a variety of juices. Not to mention a kids station… so this place is kid friendly! Average buffet prices, nice view of the water right in the heart of the hotel grounds. Tons of seating. And if you’re not staying at the hotel… this hotel does have a huge parking lot where you can park for free or you can always valet. I’ll be flying back to the islands tomorrow for Part 2 of Summer 2009… and I’ll be staying at the Hilton again for 2 nights… I’m a fan… but this trip I’m going to look at another option somewhere else to have breakfast… But if you’re staying at the Hilton with a big party, try brunch here!

This review is only on their version of the LOCOMOCO version! To those who do not know what a LOCOMOCO is, it is a hamburger topped with eggs(any style) and brown gravy over a bed of rice. In short, the Water’s Edge version stand head over shoulders among all other places that I have eaten… and I didn’t expect it to be in a hotel resort restaurant. It was SODELICIOUS that I even sent the hotel a notice by email a few days ago… it reads: Our two families totaling 6 were vacationing there at the hotel just this past weekend. We had breakfast both Saturday and Sunday at Water’s Edge, and I must compliment the morning chefs at the restaurant for Saturday morning’s Loco Moco that I ordered. Being a local, I thought I was being ‘ripped off’ for having to pay $ 16 for it, but I must say that the restaurant’s version(this past Saturday) was THEBEST I’ve tasted!!! Geez, I thought Big City Diner was good, Water’s Edge was on the top tier!!! The tasty sirloin grounded meat, the taste of the gravy… oh so delicious… like there were meat juices that had simmered in for so many hours mixed in with the gravy. It gave it such a great outstanding taste that I had almost everyone on our table eat from my dish! The presentation with 1 stalk of asparagus and a semi sun dried tomato was oh so beautiful… Come the next day, my son and i ordered the same dish… but saw a visual difference in that it came in another type of dish, more for a soup dish… and no side veggies… both times I ordered it with ‘extra gravy’, because that’s what a local would like it have… this Sunday’s had a considerable more…(like it was made by a local chef on Sunday, and someone with more culinary skills on Saturday’s order?)…just my opinion… my son and I and some others in our party also tasted the gravy, and it was NOT the same as on Saturday… the succulent juices were in the gravy, but just not too the degree it had in Saturday’s breakfast meal… Anyway, I just wanted to comment about how I now know where the tastiest LOCO Moco is located! « — — — — I am giving 4 stars only because of the difference in presentation and taste between Saturday’s and Sunday’s version of the meal… I would LOVE to give it 5 stars(if it was just for Saturday).
