Li’s Asian Cuisine & Sushi Bar

I’ve been wanting to review this place for so long, but their food is never consistent. Either it’s amazing or absolutely terrible. We’ve eaten in, taken out and had delivery and quality and it’s never comparable to the times before. I’ve had some amazing Thai and sushi from here, then I’ll order the same thing the next time and it’s hardly edible. The waiters are either up your a** or you hardly see them. The delivery comes in 10 minutes or two hours. Li’s is honestly just a gamble.

Everything always taste fresh. I’ve never had anything from here I didn’t love. The staff is always very friendly too.

Atmosphere is beautiful! Pretty glowing lights, comfortable big booth seating. We came here on a Saturday and they do Jazz nights that night. A trumpeter and pianist were playing by the front entrance. There’s also a pretty fish tank and a cute piece of décor by every table.
The food was wonderful. We got a pu pu for 2, the tv roll, and a couple drinks. For $ 30 it was absolutely worth it. There was nothing we didn’t like. Plenty of food for the price. This has to be my favorite Asian place in the area, and it was my boyfriends first time, and now he can’t wait for the next time we go. A lot of people don’t know the place because of the location. The sign is small, but it’s definitely Haverhill/​Plaistows hidden gem.

We came here for a quick bite to eat tonight. We got the crab Rangoon & edamame appetizers, both were delicious. The crab rangoons were hot and fresh and some of the best that I’ve had. It was also the first time I’ve ordered edamame at a restaurant so I don’t have much else to compare it to. We also got the Lover lover sushi roll, which I believe was spicy tuna on the inside and fresh tuna on the outside, we added some spicy mayo to it as well and it was delicious. Will definitely be back.
*** Came back a second time for another sushi night and was again delicious! We got two other sushi rolls this time and they were both amazing, again I would recommend this place because the food is obviously consistently good!

Went here for dinner for the first time. Always drive by and never went in. Food was decent, in terms of quality, price etc, no complaints, nice variety, plenty of drink options etc. Would definitely like to try more sushi and or other options at take out perhaps.
My only complaint was, the most uncomfortable seating ever, sat in a booth and sunk right down as the cushion on the seat had clearly been used by some sort of rhino-​human hybrid creature prior to me seating there. …not to mention it felt as though I was a mile from the table itself and since booth was on the «buddy system» someone seating with their backs towards you, couldnt move the darn thing… …Really bad… …I would have asked for different seating but this place was mobbed when I went in…

Ok Chinese food. Do not order crab Rangoon! Should be called cream cheese bites. Not even a sign of crab/​krab

Was afraid from outside but it is really a good place to have good dinner. Sushis i had were very good. I revommend

We are big fans of Li’s! We eat here a couple of times a month and the food is so consistent in quality! We’ve tried every Asian restaurant here in the Haverhill area and this place is the BEST!!!

An overall good experience. Appetizer orders were HUGE and enough for us to have lunch over the weekend. Our waiter was quite nice and attentive. Suso was fresh, and they had a couple of different twists. Sushi pizza works! I asked for it made with salmon instead of tuna and that was fine. And I loved the roll with the fried eel. Will definitely be back!

For local Chinese take out, this place is actually quite good. It’s not fine dining, but we were surprised and pleased by how good it was.
We’ll be going back to try their sushi. The restaurant itself is small but pretty nicely decorated, don’t judge it from the outside.

Personal Favorites: Wanton Soup, Pan Fried Gyoza, and General Tsao’s.
My friends all love the sushi, and get it every time.
Con’s: Some of the servers (about ¼ −1÷3 of them) aren’t really that good, they are very pushy, hardly speak (and when they do very limited English), and will be impatient while you read the menu, often hovering nearby looking impatient.

«Meh. I’ve had better» just about sums it up. The food was ok. Just ok. You can get better Chinese, sushi & phở in fairly close proximity for sure. The «ambiance» isn’t all that hot either. One of our booth benches had a giant rip in it with stuffing coming out. The service was attentive to the point of being obnoxious though & that is what will keep me away. We hadn’t even sat down & our server asked us if we were ready to order. I haven’t seen the menu yet, so no. When we politely asked for more time, he moved about a step away & continued to hover at our table. Mind you it wasn’t busy at all. Then, even though we were clearly still looking over the fairly extensive menu, he asked 2 more times. When he came over a FOURTH time to ask, I was still looking at the menu & 2 of our party were not even at the table. Mind you, this all occurred in the space of less than 5 minutes. I wish I were kidding. I almost got up and left at that point & probably should have. Because the food was really nothing special and certainly nothing to justify that level of harassment or the price. I guess he was in a hurry? I don’t know. Like I said, it wasn’t busy at all.

My husband and I haven’t had the best experiences ordering take out from Chinese restaurants in the past, so we are always hesitant. After reading other Unilocal reviews, we decided to give Li’s a go. We ordered delivery and it was here ridiculously quick AND the food was piping hot. We got a bunch of appetizers and they didn’t disappoint.
Chicken fingers, beef teriyaki, crab rangoon, scallion pancake, vegetable lo mein… delicious. We also got spring rolls which we didn’t care for. They were a little think and the filling a little under cooked. We also go chicken fried rice that was a little bland, but nothing soy sauce couldn’t fix.
Overall, the service was great and the food was delicious. We will be ordering again very soon! Looking forward to trying out some other items on their menu! I highly recommend!

First off, I just wanted to say that I wish I could give half star reviews, because I think 3 ½ stars perfectly suits this place. When you walk in, the atmosphere is very appealing. The food is amazingly tastey. The sushi is always super fresh. I personally recommend getting the pan fried gyoza when you come here, it’s personally one of my favorite places to get gyoza from in the area. The only reason I work prefer to give them a 3 ½ star over a 4 or 5 star is that the service is almost always terrible. One of the reasons that I personally might receive negative service is because I am a young adult. But not every young adult is terrible at tipping. I will update with a better rating once the service improves.

My office ordered from here today after I found it by Googling. Always love to find great Asian food and these guys did not disappoint! The Vietnamese Bee Boong is amazeballs, as is the Chicken Loc Lac and the Nime Chow rolls. Everything was super fresh and amazingly flavorful!

Fantastic food. We had the chicken pad Thai and the chicken egg foo young and split it between two of us. Very flavorful and fresh. Service was very quick. The ambiance was quiet and laid back with comfy booths. Great experience.

Come here every few weeks with my girlfriend. Good drinks, always plenty of food and it tastes great!

Li’s is like a hidden jewel, if you don’t know it’s there you’d drive right past it. I love my Asian food; Li’s always does a good job.
I sat at the bar and had the Mongolian Beef; it comes with a side of white rice. It’s a decent size portion and was quite tasty! They prepare theirs just the way I like it (lots of onions). The Zombie, they did a good job there too, if I wasn’t driving I would have had a second.
The waitress had an awesome smile & the place is clean.

You’d not think a 5 star restaurant could be found in an old Bickford’s location, but this place has been around for a few years now and is my absolute go to for quality Chinese and sushi in the area.
Daily lunch and dinner specials are under 10 bucks so anyone trying it for the first time can cheaply try several dishes. They include all the staples, including pad thais and lo meins, and the portions are more than fair for the price. The menu is massive and includes Japanese and Vietnamese dishes and unlike other places that meld Asian cuisine together, they truly let the subtle differences between them stand out. Alongside a fantastic, full sushi menu, other favorites are the chicken pad thai, satay beef, scallops in lemongrass and a fantastic seafood udon that any seafood lover must try.
The staff is incredibly friendly, it’s clean and the service has never been an issue in the dozens of times I’ve been. The prices are all fair and for the quality, I’d expect to be paying more. Go in expecting the best and you won’t be disappointed. I’m a regular and am glad to see them doing so well and that the Unilocalers have given this fantastic place the rating it deserves. It’s a must try.
