NASTYNASTY! My husband and I visited the bar. The old nasty male bartender kept calling his beautiful young bartender an idiot! She was in tears. What an a hole. Our chicken came out raw too… Nasty place

Drinks were overpriced if on the strong side. The bartenders were very unfriendly. Our(very large) group opted to eat somewhere else prior because of the reviews on the food. Main issue for us was the karaōke– our group kept getting skipped over for what I’m assuming were regulars to go up and sing. In the over an hour time frame we were there, not one person from our group went up, so we left. Will not be returning.

Worst $ 20 Scorpion bowl ever. Bartender ran out of white rum, only dark rum and 151. No fruit. When I asked for some cherries he literally threw them at us. A bud light is 5.35 a bottle. Drinks are over priced, did not try food… But watching Haverhill’s finest on stage was at least entertaining

Worst place I’ve ever eaten at. The manager is an idiot and talks to you like you’re stupid. The food is horrible. I had to return my food after I brought it home. Plus, when i returned it, the manager(or whoever he is) belittled me

The only time you would give this place 5 Stars is if you WANTED to go watch all of «Haverhill’s Finest» and be entertained by the white trash dancing, and fights that go on. Most of the waitresses are trashy(besides a few that have been there awhile), the oriental men that work there are creepy, and the food isn’t that great unless you are piss drunk. It is literally the trashiest place in Haverhill to hang out for dinner and drinks and desperately needs an upgrade INSIDE!

New approach. Reviewing as I go. Approaching the place from hotel across the street and reading reviews, thought it would be closed. Open and opened to a big area restaurant and bar. Bar packed. Space opened up and bartender(pretty girl) quickly came over and cleaned my area and got me a bud and a menu. Menu extensive and expensive for 2 star Chinese. Going back to look at reviews to see what food might be ok. Going out on a limb and ordering Moo Shi chicken and boneless ribs. Old tunes(Johnny Mathis) lots of locals. Bar full plenty of tvs. Waiting for food… ok I’m going 3 stars. This is a dive bar with a lot of locals and the the food is better than ok. Do not get fancy. Order Chinese food you know you like and I think you will be ok. Not gourmet but better than top notch chain/mall Chinese. ENJOY! 4 stars on the service and pretty bartender. Tries hard, does not only cater to locals…

We were very disappointed with our experience at Oriental Garden. We arrived with a large group and the hostess with the shitty tattoos couldn’t even stand up to greet us, let alone take us to our table in the restaurant. There were no lights at all in the karaōke room. We had to use our cell phones to read the menus. The service is beyond slow, 30 minutes to get drinks or even be acknowledged. After waiting for our food to arrive the moldy spot on the cealing started to leak water all over our table. Oh yea, the food was cold too.

Expensive and low quality. Chicken fingers burned and soft, and rice was burned. Both times I have ordered food it did not taste fresh at all. It tastes as if they cooked the food the day before or were left overs from the day before and they warm up the next day.

I was going to make it 2 stars because my general’s was pretty tasty, but $ 12.50 for 7 piece of chicken, white rice, and two pieces of broccoli? I also ordered two egg rolls. OMG. These were the worst tasting, worst looking, green filler garbage egg rolls I have ever eaten/tried. I couldn’t get the taste out of my mouth all night. I also feel like they left me scarred for life. I will never be able to bite into a egg roll and not remember how awful these tasted. I can only hope that one day when I have dementia, I will no longer remember how bad the Egg Rolls at Oriental Garden were

I was pretty disappointed with this place and I think the food made me sick. We were in on a Saturday night and were seated quickly, but it took about 20 minutes for the waiter to come over and take our orders. They charge extra for rice!(Never experienced that in a chinese place before, ever) For the quality of the food it was pretty overpriced, and I got pretty sick to my stomach after eating it. It tasted OK but was super greasy and I think the oil might have made me sick. Couldn’t eat for an entire day after eating there. We went because it was convenient but the poor service and mediocre food was not worth the price.

Great atmosphere. Plenty of seating. No wait to be seated. The customer service was outstanding and the prices are great. They have karaōke on Friday and Saturday nights. Offered to make my meal spicier than normally offered.

For years my family and I have enjoyed take out from here. Late at night when I want to enjoy some real drinking I go here and sit at the bar. It is enjoyable. Usually the locals will chat me up. The staff outside the bar can be a little short though. Prices are moderate.

Popped into town and needed a quick bite. Would not recommend this place. First clue was that it was empty at 8pm. Food was really weak. Find someplace else.

I wasn’t expecting much after reading the reviews on Unilocal, but the food was quite good for the most part. The décor is pretty bad and not even that clean. The table next to us stayed dirty for the first half hour until they seated people there. The treasure island dish was soooo good! I actually really can’t wait to have that again. The chicken with string beans was delicious as well and was cooked perfectly. There were a couple things I didn’t like. For one, the crab rangoons are so greasy and don’t have any crab in them. The other thing is the drinks are not strong at all. I was able to share 3 scorpion bowls and have 1 Mai tai and only be buzzed. That’s not normal for me, I’m a lightweight. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He was quite funny and enjoyed having him take care of us. We would go again, knowing the negative and just order what’s good and not having to dress up.

Worst Chinese food ever. So bad I avoid this place at all costs. The bar is cool, karaōke nights are fun, drinks are fine. The food is horrid. You can open a can of la Choy or something frozen from the grocery store and be better off. Seriously, I am NOT a picky eater or anything, but this is terrible. Better food at the buffet on 125 even.

We call it «oh jeez» for a reason. It’s a crapshoot. It’s dirty and loud. I’ve heard kitchen nightmare stories from a pretty reliable source therefore I would never eat here. Karaōke is funny and there’s always good people watching opportunity here. You can even order a scorpion bowl for 2 to drink to your head. Crazy. It’s a must see but stick to the cocktails.

I stopped in at OG for lunch takeout recently. I ordered the Luncheon Special #1 Egg Roll, Egg Foo Yong, Pork Fried Rice($ 6.50 plus tax) and I chilled out in the lounge for about 10 minutes while waiting for my order. The food I ordered was actually fairly decent tasting and just average, a good amount of food in a square styrofoam takeout box. The egg foo yong was firm with mix of onions & roast pork in a deep fried egg mixture, covered in a thick brown gravy. The fried rice(brown color) had a soft texture with a mix of onions and roast pork pieces. The egg roll was nice and crispy on the outside, filled with a mix of cabbage & minced pork. Overall, the takeout food I ordered was served hot and it was not bad.

This place has been around for years, the locals & location keep it in business. The teriyaki was good; the rest of my plate was mezza mezza/poor. The service is atrocious, the bartenders must take courses in being mean and customer service Un-friendly. I’d never bring a date to this place & will tell others to avoid. Five minutes away in downtown Haverhill there are just too many good alternatives that want your business.

The OG has indeed been around Haverhill fah-evah, and is unfortunately w/in walking distance of at least 2 low and middle income housing«developments». Our first visit was started outside their front door when we experienced a profanity laced and no doubt alcohol influenced«discussion» between Donny Sweatsock wearing his LMFAO inspired white plastic sunglasses and his lovely GF about who«it’s always effing about» –all right in front of her 6 – 7 year old daughter… charming. The décor is classic American Chinese. like Frannie here says. I really liked the food actually, not gourmet but darn tasty. The server was quite polite and helpful. I think there’s some school of thought about Chinese restaurants that serve white bread. Like it’s a warning sign or something, but again, not really worth the calories. I had the General Gao’s chicken for fun and it had a really nice subtle(amazing, subtle, can you believe it) nutty taste. Bottom line I think is to simply get take out and have your own alcohol influenced profanity laced discussions in the comfort of your own home – just wait until the kids are in bed.
