This is my first time ordering take-out from here. I ordered a Pu Pu for 2. I didn’t like the Crab Rangoon no flavor just cream cheese had no imitation crab, and no scallions in it just plain cream cheese ugh !!. Beef Teriyaki was great lg. 4 pieces of beef on a stick. Chicken Fingers were good too love the batter on these. A few other Chinese places around here have a bread type coating on their’s which I don’t like at all. Fan Tail Shrimp was good, plus Egg Rolls, and boneless ribs were ok. Loved the Chicken Chow Mein & Pork Fried Rice was made fresh. The chicken wings were just that not Chinese flavored which I would have liked more. I’m still on the look-out for the flavored kind of Crab Rangoon so anybody who reads this if you find the place where they do leave me a line where they are Thanks. !!!

I’ve noticed nobody has written a review for this place in a while. And it’s probably because nobody ever goes here. This is the grossest Chinese I have ever had in my life. The prices are extremely cheap, but I just can’t stomach the food. With probably 20 other Chinese restaurants in the Haverhill area, I don’t see why anybody would choose this one.

First off, I’m from California. A place where you order out Chinese because you want to have a delicious meal not get wasted off of tropical cocktails. With that being said, Fu Hing is the place to go in Haverhill if you’re looking for good food for take-out or delivery. Step foot inside and you’ll immediately understand why I do not suggest dining in. I do not particularly care for the typical overly sweetened, sticky, «everything tastes the same» New England Chinese cuisine. This place is the closest to the West Coast style of Chinese food I have been able to find in the 5+ years I have lived in MA. I go to this place frequently, and up until recently have always ordered the same meal of wonton soup and double sauteed pork(spicy). Its great, and I figured why mess with a good thing. Now, since I have been a little more adventurous I have learned that they do a few other dishes very well, and there are a few I just don’t like. So, on my «A» list… Double sauteed pork(spicy, or extra spicy if you ask, probably mild if you ask, but who really wants that). Tender pork, cabbage, green and red bell peppers, and wonderfully spicy sauce. This is my #1. Every once in a while this will be made with a ton of other vegetables which is always a nice treat. Wonton soup — Deliciously seasoned broth, not too salty, not bland. Thin slices of roasted pork and green onions. Wontons are never soggy and have a nice flavor to them. Moo Shu Pork — Plenty of meat and crunchy thinly sliced vegetables in a very tasty sauce. Can’t go wrong with this one. If you like plum sauce ask for it otherwise they will give you some weird sauce that doesn’t taste very good or no sauce at all. The portion on this is huge so you might want to ask for some extra pancakes. Vegetable Lo Mein — I don’t know what it is about the way they make this one, but it tastes much better than any of there other Lo Meins(beef, chicken, pork). Beef with Peapods — beef is obviously tenderized with something, but is delicious none the less. A light sauce that is not too oily, and crunchy peapods with some onion as well. Crab Rangoon — Hard to mess that up. I can’t really recommend anything else as these are pretty much the core dishes that I stick to every time. Did I mention that this place is cheap? Most dishes come in two sizes which is nice if you want to try something new and not drop $ 10 for your curiosity. I usually don’t call ahead to order because no matter when you go your order seems to be ready in 10 minutes no matter how busy they are. I do notice that when people call asking for delivery they always seem to be told 40 minutes to 1 hour. I’m sure they make a bunch of stuff well so give it a shot. All of the phone orders that come in while I’m waiting for my food usually consist of General Tso’s, fried rice, Pu Pu platters, or some other type of appetizer type of dish so they must be good. If you’re looking for drinks go to Han’s, OG’s, or some place else. If you’re looking for good food give this place a try.

15 years i’ve lived in this city. 12 of them going to this place. I’ll never waste another cent of my hard earned money in here. They have suddenly turned into the absolute rudest arrogant lousy customer service ignorant sob’s They get my order wrong by forgetting to put MY food in with our entire order and they refuse to deliver what THEY messed up.(admitted it was on order but driver left in building) I had to GOGETMYDELIVERYORDER and that bitch in the front gets loud wit me because I told her this is unacceptable? Sorry you fucked up and I had to fix it and I don’t work for you. Stopped on way home few nights later because my daughter told me she picked up from there and forgot ginger and duck sauce. Again, bitch out front. what ordr. We no forget. They not ask there no pick up just delivery for last hour. So I offered to buy so I could get out if there before I let her have it. Refused to take my debit card. R u fn serious? LOUSY service that’s not compensated by great food to make up for it. There’s too many other places with just as average food with way better people working there. Never again from me Big V

Stopped in for a quick 1:45 pm lunch on a Monday. The steamed dumplings were very good, the chicken fried rice was good. While eating, there were a number of takeout orders and one couple dining in. I feel that the ambiance could use a little background music or a TV? It is casual dining at best, the counter where I ordered and said I was dining in is where I had to pick up my order… I assume there is no table service. In Haverhill, I would eat at Fu Hing again!

This is pretty much the only place I get Chinese Take Out in the area for years. It’s cheap good American Chinese food. Their foods are not heavily salted or over-seasoned like some places are. The fried rice and lo-mein are not extremely dark, which usually gives you the sight of how much soy sauce/msg sauce they put into the dishes. :) The chicken and beef dishes are nearly all the same, with the same sauces in all of them. I like the family style dishes that offer some various spices and veggies. The family favorite dishes are the typical General Gau’s chicken and the orange chicken. The typical dishes(fried rice/lo-mein) are around $ 7-$ 8 with the family dishes ranging from $ 8-$ 10. I don’t get take out often, but this is the place I go if my family is craving taking out.

I was pleasantly surprised by Fu Hing. I just wanted some cheap Chinese food, nothing special. We ordered the Pu Pu Platter, wonton soup, and chicken lo mein. The Pu Pu Platter was what surprised me the most. It’s really just a carton full of deep fried goodies and some meat, but it was way better than expected. Everything that was fried was piping hot and very crunchy. The fried butterflied shrimp were huge and delicious, the beef teriyaki skewers were great, and the chicken tenders were in a light crispy batter, not heavy or greasy at all. I enjoyed the crab rangoon and would definitely order it by itself next time in case we don’t want the whole pu pu platter. The ribs weren’t great, but I’m not big on ribs in the first place, so nothing lost. We didn’t get to try the chicken wings, but they looked great. The lo mein was good, but a little salty. It actually looked like it had some fresh vegetables in it, which was nice. It wasn’t the typical heavily sauced, goopy pile of mushy noodles … the noodles were slightly firm, lightly sauced. The wonton soup was a little salty for my taste, but it’s soup and soup is generally a bit salty. The broth was a bit better than other places I’ve tried, so I’ll probably be getting this again. Also, I ordered delivery and they allowed me to pay by credit card over the phone which was quite nice. I wouldn’t say their delivery time was incredibly fast, but it didn’t take them too long. They might have a delivery charge of a dollar or two because my food only totaled $ 21.10 but my bill was $ 24.85. Accounting for tax, the bill shouldn’t have been more than $ 23 by my estimate. In any case, gas isn’t cheap so I can’t complain — after all, I’m getting hot fresh food delivered to my doorstep. But it’d be nice if they at least mentioned the delivery charge, assuming there is one. All in all, prices were decent and the food was an 8 out of 10, so I plan on ordering from them frequently from here on out.

So I’ve been going to this place for years now. My family and I have been ordering from them consistently and the food is ok. Its cheap, its got the best chicken fingers around, the fried food is excellent. Everything else is just ok. Then last night we ordered are usual. It was a decent about of food, almost 60 dollars worth. We opened the General Gau’s chicken, we opened the container and there was a live LIVINGCOCKROACH. I threw everything out and almost vomited. So I politely called them to inform them of this. The woman on the phone responded, «I don’t know what you have at home but we don’t got that here.» She was not apologetic or even attempted to reconcile. Just think that you should know before ordered from this place again. I know I won’t be.

I have been going to Fu Hing for 8 years and am 90% satisfied with the food I tend to order. Chicken with Garlic Sauce, Doubled sauted Pork, Hot & Sour Soup. The Shrimp in Chicken/Shrimp special dish is ALWAYS big, cooked well and delicious. Anyway, I prefer the cooking over ANY chinese(take-away) restaurant in the region(the newly decorated dining area is fine, just not fine dining ambience). I think I am an experienced diner of Asian cuisine in the States and even nominally internationally so I speak with some authority. For the dollar value and freshness it is a good deal.

I’ve been going to Fuhing regularly for years. It’s my «go-to» place for cheap, good, greasy Chinese cuisine. I think the 1-star reviewer may have gone on a bad night or ordered the wrong things. Fuhing does certain dishes very well. The Pork Egg Fu Yong is the best I’ve ever had. I’ve been known to unfold the carton to get at the last bits of that phenomenal gravy. The Kung Pao Chicken is very good. Not quite authentic Sichuan style(see Sichuan Gourmet in Billerica), but tasty and spicy. Double Cooked Pork and Beef with Broccoli are both excellent. I tend to stay away from the noodle dishes(Lo Mein and Chow Fun are rather pedestrian) and the fried junk-food-type appetizers — however the steamed and fried dumplings are great, as are the Dumplings in Sichuan Sauce, which are fried Peking Ravioli in a spicy peanut sauce. Also, the french fries(yes, french fries) are great! I think because they are cooked in the same oil with all the pork and chicken and pick-up some of those flavors. Fuhing might try to do too much for a hole-in-the-wall takeout-only Chinese restaurant, so they don’t get everything right. But I’ve found several dishes that are consistently good to excellent. Also, the prices are amazingly low, they have half orders of most items, and nearly everything comes with complementary white rice. Give it a shot!
