First time in New Orleans and first time having oysters. BEYOND delicious. We started off with the voodoo rolls and fried oysters. So much flavor! So much goodness. So good for our pockets! My entrée was the Cajun shrimp pasta and it was delicious. Don’t let the outside make you think it’s a hole in the wall spot. The inside has TVs and a bar for enjoyment. Next time I’m in New Orleans this is my first stop!

I cannot believe that I have never been to this restaurant before now. My new in-laws have turned me on to this restaurant. I have been twice now and haven’t tasted anything bad yet. The Voodoo rolls are amazing. The blackened shrimp pasta is to die for. We have been with parties of 8 or more both times and the service was wonderful. I am a fan and will be going back often.

Always amazing food! Love their seafood gumbo(from what I remember this was one of the few places that does not serve pork in their gumbo), great potato salad and voodoo rolls!

The chargrilled oysters are outstanding. I would say comparable to the more famous«Drago’s». They are buttery, garlicky, cheesy, and mouthwatering. The voodoo crawfish rolls are yummy. I know they are a crowd favorite and you wouldn’t steer wrong ordering them. The spinach and artichoke dip is typical. It comes out hot and cheesy. I’ve tried the Hawaiian Salmon & Yellow Fin Tuna. They were good and cooked the way we wanted them. The Hawaiian sauce isnt overly sweet. This is a big plus for me because I rarely enjoyed sweet seasoned proteins. I forgot what we had as sides. I’ve tried two of their pasta dishes as well. One had the blacken fish or shrimp and the other was the stuff eggplant. Pasta flavors are on the bland, heavy cream, Alfredo sauce side. On the lunch menu, the pecan crusted fish is pretty good. The fried batter is a little on the thick/heavy side. I felt like some type of acidic would’ve made the dish better though.

Don’t let the exterior and location of this place dissuade you. This place gets busy during lunch and they also have take out order options so be patient. The folks there have a nice southern charm. Great décor and seating area if you plan to dine in. The menu is simple but everything you’ll have here is great. This was our second time here and everything from the po-boys to tacos to Hawaiian pork chops were great. The prices are a bit high but the food is good. If you’re in this area around lunch time I recommend this place.

We brought some out of town family here last Tuesday night. It’s was some of the freshest seafood I’ve had since living here in Nola(3+years)! Our waiter Kevin was awesome as well! The only thing I wasn’t happy about was the hostess who sat us. She was not welcoming at all and seemed to be unconvinced by us. The waiter and food made up for her crappy attitude! We will definitely be returning! A must try is the charbroiled oysters… I find them even better than Drago’s world famous ones!

One of the greatest places on the westbank for seafood! I come here probably once a month to get the voodoo rolls, they are wonderful! Also try the charbroiled oysters. The service is pretty great when they aren’t slam packed, but waiters are very nice!

If you’re on the Westbank and craving some raw or charbroiled oysters, this is the place to go! They are fairly priced and the flavor is there. Portions are pretty large so I suggest sharing with someone. Most of the pasta dishes taste the same which I gave a 4 star. They’re mostly opened during lunch and dinner hours. You may need to call ahead of time to see if they’re open. Overall, I give my thumbs up for the oysters.

It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten here. They closed for renovations a while ago and I never returned. That all changed today when my dad and I stopped in here for lunch. First of all, we came in around 12:15 and the place was slam packed and there was a wait. Every table was full and the staff was hustling. We really hoped that this was a good sign. We were seated and started looking over the menu. The last time I was here(2011), I had a burger, but the definite emphasis of the menu these days is seafood. They have an oyster bar so you can get raw or char grilled oysters. As tempted as I was to knock out some raw oysters, I decided to go with the pecan crusted catfish that was on the lunch menu. Amanda, the waitress, was wonderful and enthusiastic excitedly telling us that the pecan crusted catfish is one of the best things on the menu. First came a nice little side salad. It was delicious and I loved that it had spinach in it. I love spinach! When the pecan crusted catfish came out I was blown away. It was hot, right out of the pan and HUGE! This was an incredible piece of fish. The fish was topped with a meuniere sauce and was delicious! The pecans added a delicious flavor to it and overall I really enjoyed it. The dish also came with some new potatoes and a piece of French bread. Needless to say I took about half of my meal home and will be enjoying it later. I should mention that this amazing meal was on $ 12! All in all my meal was amazing and I will definitely return. Next time I go I think that I am going to arrive around one, as I noticed that’s when the crowd starts to thin.

This place never lets me down! My favorite dish, is the grilled shrimp salad, with ranch dressing. The ranch dressing must be homemade, because i can never find a ranch in the stores, or another restaurant for that matter as delicious as that one. Don’t get overwhelmed with the wait. They move fast. I love the new oyster bar too. It makes for a great ambiance there.

Little torn on this one. If you are in the mood for simple heavy food then this is the place for you. The portions are huge so splitting might be an excellent option. The menu is rather small with a focus on seafood. They do offer a couple beef and chicken options but majority is fish. I had the eggplant dish and upgraded it to the pontatrain sauce. Both sauces offered are heavy cream based. It had flavor but is masked by the amount of sauce used and was too much! Fried eggplant with a heavy cream sauce and crab cake stuffing can weigh you down. I was only able to eat ¾ of it. Service was friendly though. I won’t be heading back here just because it’s not my style of food.

Went here with my husband, my cousin and his wife. First things first, we ordered drinks at the bar(because the place was hoppin’ busy!) until we were able to be seated. Bartender was busy, but she stayed on top of everything. Once we were seated, we ordered voo-doo crawfish rolls, crawfish corn soup, and seafood gumbeaux and proceeded to share. Everything was tasty, with the crawfish rolls stealing the show(no one can touch my grandma’s gumbo, but they make a very nice attempt!) For our meals we ordered the stuffed grilled catfish, catfish lafayette, catfish loozianne and a po’boy with shrimp and catfish mixed. Seriously, everything was amazing, the servings are huge, so be prepared for leftovers(they are just as yummy the next day).

First off I would like to start by saying that I eat here often and was VERY displeased with my service this time. My Co-Workers and myself placed an order like always, and I had the ½ salad and soup Lunch special. Well The ½ Oyster Salad was reall GREAT, but my soup was another story. After eating 2 or 3 spoons of soup I notice a FREAKINGBUG in my soup. The worst feeling ever not knowing if I had already ate a bug from my previous 2 or 3 scoops. I called and was transfered to the Manger whom offered me another soup or a comp soup if I didn’t want to return today. I mean why would I want to get another soup after my first horry experience. Now don’t get me run I kow things happen, but I really didin’t like the way he handle things. I don’t go around to resturants looking for a hand out or free food, but I also don’t like to see bugs in my food. Would I vist this place again… NO Maybe is the Manger would have offered to refund me for the soup I may have gave this resturant another try, just without eating the soup.

So 3 stars bc the food didn’t wow me so much. But the extra star bc we had good service and the manager went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied. We ordered the oysters with the spinach and cheese for starters, also some corn and crawfish bisque bc I was coming down with a cold and my throat was hurting. For entrees, I had the swamp pasta, and my friend had the Hawaiian steak. And just for the record, although I was comjng down with a cold, it DIDNOT alter my palette. It actually got worse at the end of my meal but the server was so nice to me kept coming back with napkins and suggestions about how to get pass the cold. Very sweet lady. Verdict: Crab and crawfish bisque was pretty good. I had the cup but my friend liked it so much I let him finish it. Oysters Florence(the one with spinach and cheese): it basically tasted like cheese and spinach. When I poked my fork into the oyster there was hardly to none oyster in there. Real talk. It was meeehhh to me. Swamp Pasta: Alfredo pasta which anyone can make with some shrimp that was abit on the hard side almost like dried shrimp my parents get from out the country. Didn’t wow me at all. Hawaiian Ribeye: It’s alright. Flavorful but I felt like they just basted load of sauce on the steak yet it was the only thing I felt was good throughout the entire meal. Prob the only thing I would considered ordering as my main entrée if I come back. Negatives: My friend found this gunk of … Looked and when we poked at it we assumed was a piece of fat from a steak that accidentally fell into the baked potato. But in actuality according to the manager who was really understanding and nice explained to us that potatoes sometimes have these centers that go bad and turns black and tough/chewy so whoever prepared that potato was suppose to dispose of it. He gave us extra corn and crawfish soup to go home with me and cut is 10% which I felt was really nice. Hence why I gave this restaurant an extra star. He went the extra mile to make sure we were happy. So this section has some positive to this. Lol. Now I must add bc it’s unusual for this to happen but after we left the restaurant I had a sudden urge to wanna use the bathroom yet my friend was fine. I’m not sure why I had the runs but the only thing I can assume was the swamp pasta, my entrée. Shrimp did taste a bit hard and the sauce was just a tad off but I def was not up for complaints. Bottom line: Service really good. Food… They can do better.
