Waited for an hour and half to get our food which is inexcusable. The fries were so cold that the cheese would not melt on them. At least give me hot food if you expect me to wait 90 mins for service of a damn burger and fries.

Horrible service. We sat there for I over an hour and no food. But drinks. We watched ever table get served around us. People who walked in after us. My money will never be to there establishment. A party of 7 is not plenty. When a table of 11 came after us. She tried to give us the excuse oh everybody had chicken. That’s a lie they had hamburgers just like us. So we exited the door never to return again.

NOWOPENFORBREAKFAST! One of the best omelets I’ve had. A great fun restaurant with a family oriented atmosphere. I have to say when they first re-opened, they a few kinks to work out. But the place seems to have really come together. The Piglett burger is a must try as well as the hot and flavorful Mean Mary Fries. This place is definitely worth it.

Skip it and go to Popeyes next door. Food is mediocre at best. Staff was cool, but looked like they could use a bath. Cook looked like a mechanic, covered in dirt and grease. Better places to eat nearby even if you’re walking.

What keeps me coming back? The cheese man The cheese. Ask for cheese on your burger and fries and its gonna look like they are bringing you a plate of just cheese. Real shredded cheese = heaven. Its all good there. yes it is run downed looking and maybe typical«westbank» but man its no frills goodness. The staff are super friendly and love kids. A great place If you have a peanut allergy, avoid this place at all cost or you will get big swole before even siting down to get your epi-pen in your leg. They take credit cards.

Our burgers were under cooked and the cooks used their bare hands to dress our burgers. The cooks were also eating peanuts and fries. Seeing the open container of cheese sitting on the counter, not covered or refrigerated was a real turn off. We will never be back. It is truly amazing how poorly this place is ran.

The burgers are awesome and beers are ice cold. Try the brunch burger with egg and bacon!

No, No and No. Sorry. I wanted to like it. I’ve experienced RR several times before they moved to Belle Chasse, a couple times in Belle Chasse and now at the new(old) location. It was always just ok to pretty good but Just went tonight and, sadly, we will probably not be back. Too many other burgers on the ‘bank to waste the considerable time and money. And the smoke billows… We should have known as soon as we walked in that it was going to be a bomb of a meal. Right as you walk in you are facing the grill. The waitress and cook were«discussing» a wrong order. Very classy in front of the customers. The ventilation was HORRIBLE. The place was filled with smoke and smelled of grease. Regardless, we’re troopers and gave it a shot. We were one of three tables(Two waitresses). Took quite a while to get our drinks. No lemons for the tea. Requested it and it never arrived. Finally had to go to the bar for lemons. One lemon wedge for four teas… And the smoke billows… Time to take the order. It’s not a big menu and I appreciate that. I kinda like it. Do a couple things and do it right. Of course, the first thing ordered(Hot Sausage Poboy), they were out of. We waited a considerable time for our order. As we waited, we watched as the other table receiving their food complained about mixed up orders. Food came out hot and looked good. One of the burgers, we were a table of 7, was incorrect but we didn’t say anything because it seemed pointless and it wasn’t that big of a deal. Waitresses were pleasant but just ok. One asked if we needed a refill, daughter handed her the glass and waitress walked back to the other table and continued her conversation with the other guest. And still the smoke billows… As expected, walking out, we smelled like we’ve been cleaning grease traps for the past three days. No exaggeration. We walked into the house, directly to the laundry room and shed our clothes. We’ve been in some dives before but never have we experienced this. Thank God we had nowhere to be after dinner because it would have been very embarrassing. Anyway…i gave them two stars only because the food was ok. Unfortunately, the balance of the experience will keep us away for quite a while.

Would it kill you to at least post a menu with prices on the wall? We tried this place for the first time in about 5 years and being a local I know the menu but what about somebody from out of town? First off the prices here are too high. We ordered 1 steakburger with cheese and fries, 1 grilled chicken sandwich with fries and 2 drinks. With tip $ 35…I can go to Five Guys in elmwood, get two much better burgers, fries and drinks for $ 10 cheaper. I always like to support local ownership but for the price of a burger here it just isnt worth it

This review is since they’ve reopened. FOOD: Burgers and fries are still excellent here… taste just like before they closed. Best burger on the Westbank. PRICE: Prices are definitely higher. I would call this place expensive! Cheeseburger with fries is $ 10 – 11. Add chili and cheese to the fries… an extra FIVE freakin’ dollars! That’s insane. Yes, they do load on the chili and cheese, but MAN $ 15 – 16 for a burger and fries with toppings is pretty high. SERVICE: Both times i’ve eaten in they’ve messed up the order. Both times i only got cheese on the fries when i ordered chili also. The second time, my burger was switched with the other person in my party’s burger.(but we didn’t realize it until a few bites in because the only difference in what we ordered was the done-ness of the meat) CLEANLINESS: The only thing that turned me off was when i went the second time on a Saturday at 11:30am. Our table and all the ones around us were dirty and sticky… still had a lot of crumbs, cheese, etc on them. And, that had to be from the night before unless they had the whole restaurant full before 11:30am, which is doubtful.

Ruby Reds has re-opened their doors just 3 years after closing down and it’s pretty much the exact same as it was before. They are still currently in their soft opening with their grand opening scheduled with a big party for next weekend, Saturday, December 6th. For my lunch I ordered the newest burger addition to their menu called The Brunch Burger. It’s a big juicy steak burger topped with a fried egg and loads of crispy bacon. It is both delicious and overly filling. Since its so big, the leftovers from my brunch burger ended up as my dinner burger, and it’s just as good reheated too.(Note: I did take it off the bun to reheat). The ambience is very«neighborhood hole in the wall/funky dive», with mismatched tables and chairs and it’s a bit dark even during the middle of the day, but it kind of works and is part of the overall charm. There’s peanut shells everywhere and adding to the shells on the floor is basically both encouraged and expected. The staff is very friendly. I was greeted by one of the cooks immediately upon walking in, and the owner Mary was working the room too. She was buzzing all around. She was waiting on some tables, but she made a point to introduce herself to every table whether she had taken their order or not. This is the kind of place that once you go, you feel feel very welcomed and want to return. I wish I lived closer and could pop in more often. Next time, I’m going for the Mean Mary, which I believed was described as the spicy version of their chicken sandwich. Oh, I almost forgot to add that the fries are thick and crispy steak fries, which were so delicious but I didn’t get to eat too many of them because I was so full from that Brunch Burger.

As we walked in, there was an overwhelming chemical smell from the nail salon next door. No printed or posted menu, so the prices are anyone’s guess. Doesn’t ANYBODY own a computer with a printer? It’s not a complicated menu… four different burgers. No chicken, seafood, or hot dogs. I ordered a Ruby Red burger, medium. Took a long time, even with no crowd. It was Ruby Red, all right… the meat was cold and somewhere between raw and rare. Sent it back, and got a new one. That one was cooked the same. By then, everyone else with me was done, so I gave up. Won’t be back.

Not the experience I’d hoped for. Should have expected as much though as soon as I walked in.
Place was dirty, and no, I’m not referring to the peanut shells on the floor. It was unclean, dark and looked run-down. Bathrooms were INSANELY unclean without necessities such as paper towels, so it’s hard to believe the employees abide by the sign marked«Employees must wash hands.»
Average burger that tasted worst after I got the bill, considering there were no menus or prices listed for anything. Two orders of burgers and fries ran over $ 35!
The meager drink selection(no tea, only soda) wasn’t the most alarming part of ordering the drinks with our lunch. It was the waiter’s need to smell our drinks as he poured them at the bar before serving us. It’s a shame because I enjoyed this place the last time I went a couple years ago.

No, you’re eyes aren’t deceiving you. Ruby Red’s is BACK in their original location! It’s been two long years(maybe more), but today I was able to have one of Ruby’s delicious steak cheddar burgers that I missed so much. Now, they have only been open for about 5 days and they are currently only serving burgers, so if you are craving a chicken sandwich, you might have to wait a week before you are able to sink your teeth into one. Walking in, it was as if nothing had changed. The peanuts were on the floor, the checkered table cloths were in place and I was a happy camper. I got my burger medium rare and it came with steak fries. It was all as good as I remembered. I can’t wait to go back again and again. FINALLY a good burger place on the Westbank!
