Love this place, every time I come here they serve you at a fast rate. And they always have seating. Their soups are fantastic when it’s winter time. And the portioning to pricing is great. You can get a soup dish for only $ 9, and it honestly fills me up good. Their other dishes are tasteful as well. You really get a bang for your buck coming here.

Don’t get the dumpling tofu soup()! Only comes with 2 frozen vegetables dumplings with broken pieces of one dumpling. Dumplings not made fresh or by the restaurant. Broth lacks flavor, just tastes like spicy water. Found some strange purple dye on my noodles. Thank goodness I asked for the noodles on the side. Get the mixed beef and seafood tofu soup instead.

Despite this being a chain restaurant, this is actually one of the better soondubu jjigae places I’ve been to in the NY/NJ area(the one in Palisades Park, NJ, is comparable). The quality and flavor profile of the stews are always consistent, and although somewhat sparse, the banchan are always fresh, with the cucumber kimchi being my absolute favorite. Having said all that, I admit that I really only come here for the soondubu. I’ve tried some of their other menu items, such as the seafood pancake and beef bulgogi, but they’ve left much to be desired. Also, as a tip, make sure that if you want to enjoy a leisurely dinner there, arrive at least by around 8:30 pm. Although the restaurant closes at 9:30 pm, we were being ushered out by 9:15 because our waitress«lived in New Jersey and wanted to go home soon.» Hey, at least she said it with a smile.

Came here with tons of expectation due to the good reviews on Unilocal,we arrived at 9:08 p.m. and this restaurant refuse to serve us, their hours on the door clearly says 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., very unprofessional. I don’t know about the food but I definitely expect a more customer friendly gesture from them.

There aren’t enough words to describe how delicious dinner was last night. The short ribs are the way to go! My wife and I ordered 2 short ribs and the chicken, which I ate to myself. Like most Korean BBQ places they give you tasty sides; however, don’t fill up on them. This place is great!

Service here can be a bit snappy, but I’ve chosen to think of it as ‘tough love’. The food is pretty good! I always get the seafood soup with a stone bowl of rice. The banchan are mediocre(tastes a bit like dashi/msg), but still tastes fresh. I’ve never tried soondoobu with ramen noodles, but I would personally recommend pairing the soup with rice.

I’ve driven past this location several times on my way and back home from the Hartsdale H Mart. I usually stop at the food court but today I decided I’d like to have a peaceful meal so I check this location out. I was seated immediately and brought some refreshments and banchan while I look over the menu. There isn’t an extensive selection but from my experience what they do they do well. The banchan was fresh and Light and actually refreshing while not being overly spicy. I had the ribs which came to the table still sizzling and the waitress cut them up for me as per normal tradition. They weren’t overcooked and we’re absolutely delightful. Along with a small bowl of steamed rice I had a delightful meal all under $ 20. I’ll probably swing back around and have a few more dishes now that I know the level of service and kitchen work.

I’m torn about this review. It’s the only decent priced, food consistently good, Korean Restaurant in the area. I probably eat here once a week? Maybe I’m a sucker, but not many options for Westchester that area reasonably priced. Love the banchan and they will continue to give you as much as you’d like. Quick service. Sad part, the bathrooms are less to be desired which makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. First off you have to cross the slippery floor/hallway where the bus boy drags the dirty dishes in. You risk being slammed in the face by the hinged door going in and out of the kitchen. I try to not use the bathroom when I am here for I don’t want to think about the people cooking my food are using the same bathrooms… but the past few times there has been NO soap in the women’s room. Toilet paper strewn all over the floor and just very very unclean. My husband said the men’s room has been the same at times. One time we were the first ones for dinner at 5. The place was empty. The bathrooms were atrocious. I just couldn’t believe that in between lunch rush and the downtime, no one could go in and clean up the bathroom. Can someone please notify the manager of this??? It’s very distasteful. Literally.

Bibimbap is tasty. The spicy jigae is decent. The variety of banchan is very limited. Prices are great though. Service is fine except for the older male waiter – just rude. He is the reason I stopped going. Friends have told me they’ve also had negative experiences with the same waiter. You’re better off going down the block to the other Korean restaurant.

Hubby had mandoo soondubu I had kalgooksu clam sundubu. It was hot and perfectly spiced up for our regular spicy level. Banchans were seasoned just right and refills were fast and plenty. Great hot spicy soondubu in hartsdale on a snowy President day 2016 was a big success!

Their bibimbap and soup were great for five stars. However, we have to pay $ 3 extra if we want the stone bowl or stone plate –1 star.

Boom. Especially after a hungover or on a very cold morning. I’m not really an expert on Korean food, but they only serve like 3 or 4(with multiple combinations) dishes here, the food is fast, the fermented sides are fresh and the main courses can be ordered with enough spice to make you sweat. I love the Ramen Silky Tofu Soup, regular spice with beef and mixed seafood. Goodness. Might have to go after I hit save on this review. We live a solid 25 minutes up the Merritt in Connecticut from Hartsdale, but we are here multiple times a month.

I don’t often crave soon dubu but found myself wanting something hot on a cold winter day. So gong dong definitely hits the spot. 10 bux for soon dubu plus the banchan and you’re pretty set up for a full belly. The banchan was pretty good. Kimchee was heavy on salty shrimp paste which I liked. Ordered a reg spicy mushroom. Spice level was perfect. I’m the worst half Korean ever, so I don’t handle spice particularly well. Tho, I love spicy food. The reg spicy was healthy glisten level sweaty. Also ordered the kimchee pancake. Wasn’t very crispy and would really benefit from some funkier, more fermented kimchee in it. Good attentive service but it wasn’t all too busy.

Food is actually not so bad, but the older male waiter’s attitude dragged it down to 2 stars. The younger male waiter was also quite bad. The female waitresses are usually friendly here, but only male waiters during my recent visit. Chige hot pot is fair, not bad, but surely not in the same ranks as those in Flushing or NJ. I wish they stop opening those terrible Ramen shops and have someone open more decent Korean restaurants around White Plains!

Korean food!!! Close to my home… Best thing ever since H-mart. Their seafood pancake is actually pretty good. So that’s a fine start. The side dishes are good, except kimchi. It’s hard to find good kimchi except in Fort Lee and freaking Northern Blvd. Well, I ordered seafood sundoobu, my mom did too, my girlfriend ordered the beef one with ramen. I was pretty satisfied, I enjoyed the level of spiciness and it had enough taste, it wasn’t bland like the h-mart one haha! My girlfriend loved her beef and ramen sundoobu. She kept saying the ramen was good with the soup. My mom also liked my girlfriend’s more than hers. In the end… We were all happy to have eaten some freaking soup and seafood pancake. I was satisfied. I recommend it.

Hard to find a decent Korean restaurant in Westchester. I came across this place and I have been there a couple of times. The service is always great. The ajuhmma is always nice to me:) and always interacting with the customers. even though they have a very limited menu and only offer 3 – 4 side dishes the food is very tasty compared to other Korean restaurants I have tried in Westchester.

1st time here since they’ve opened. But tonight, we wanted to try something different and out of our comfort zone. Once inside, you’re seated. Menu is very small yet items sound very tasty. I had the chicken BimbiBap on a Hot Plate(you can also have that dish in a bowl of you like). When the sever brings your hot plate, the veggies are kind of sizzling along with the rice and the meat of your choice. My husband had the LA Galbi– which he thought were really delicious. Good experience to try So Gong Dong.

I’ll give this place a 4.5. Love their soondooboo(soft tofu soup). I always like getting the Mix(beef and seafood) extra spicy… which actually isn’t too spicy. Side dishes aren’t THAT many but the 4 or 5 that come out are great! I love that they give you an option for getting udon noodles or ramen noodles instead of rice. HOWEVER… BEWARNED: if you get the noodles instead of rice, they don’t give you an egg to put in your soup. But still, basically all the different soondubu’s are delicious. so glad this place came into town.

Quite a nice find here in Westchester for some good Korean food. Although I didn’t think it was quite 5 stars but I had a pretty good experience here on a Saturday night. Located in strip mall one intersection away from H-Mart and Trader Joes I thought the location was quite convenient. The restaurant itself was actually smaller than I thought but when we came in around 7pm didn’t have trouble getting seats right away. Although quite funny I thought the McDonald next door is probably at least double the size of the restaurant. Anyway the meal itself was pretty good overall. I thought the Bibimbap could use more meat as they have really tasty beef and bit heavy on the veggies. The Beef Tofu pot was good with its own sauce that I thought tasted bit different than the other Korean restaurants I’ve been to. Very interesting is that the Tofu Soup can come pair with Ramen noodles instead of rice, I want to try that next time as this is the first time I been to a korean restaurant that let you do that. Seafood Pancake was quite good as well, a bit little flaky perhaps and was falling off in my chopsticks but still quite delicious. For the location I think definitely well worth a visit given the close proximity to Hmart. Definitely will be coming back here in the future.
