The owner told us that his food was as good as it gets, and he was telling the truth. We had the ¼ chicken with plantanos and yuka frita, and it was so delicious. The chicken was the best I have ever had. The owner was a super nice young man, and you could tell that he was really passionate about his food and business. He has been renovating and working on an expanded menu and a website, so expect to see lots more variety soon. He let me get a sneak peak of the coming menu, and it looks amazing. I was passing through Harrisonburg and I was in one of my cravings and this time for some Peruvian chicken and some yuka. Unilocal to the rescue and it led me to this hidden gem. Apparently this used to be some other restaurant but this new one is a hole in the wall. The owner is this young man who was very friendly and approachable. He recommended to spice it up using a tabasco sauce on the white rice which gave the rice a kick. Their rotisserie chicken is seasoned perfectly. I ordered the half chicken and I ate it down to the bone, sucking each bone until the flavor was gone. Another favorite thing here is their GREENSAUCE, which is homemade according to the owner. That green sauce is definitely spicy so beware. However the spiciness is like wasabi as it is hot for a little bit and then disappears ready for your next bite. The yuka satisfied my craving, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, not burnt; I devoured that as well. If you’re looking for MOIST, TENDERDELICIOUSCHICKEN and perfectly cooked YUKA, I would recommend this FOODGASM spot.
