The food here is great! The ribs are delicious. The quesadillas, beans, and salads are great too. We were a little disappointed by the corn bread but everything else is great!

Stick to bbq, Tex-mex items very bland. Our server was way overwhelmed for lunch. I asked for a margarita and he said he didn’t know how to make it and the bartender was running late so I opted for a beer which took 10min to arrive. Other guest seemed frustrated also. Food is okay. Great place for kids, Nice Décor. Will come back for drinks if bartender is working.

Stopped by with the wifey on the way from Boston to NYC New York City. Great service. Very family friendly atmosphere. They even make guacamole right at the table for you. Food was unbelievable and was a welcome break on the journey into the city. So worth turning off.

Great place to eat if you have a family with little ones. The ambiance was wonderful. My little one was in a trance every time the trains passed by the table. There we also lights on the floor which he enjoyed. The service was great our waiter was very nice and attentive. The food was great. The proportions are ample. I had a half rack of ribs and still had to take home a doggy bag. The Mac and cheese was so yummy, although the the corn bread had a dash too much vanilla for my taste. My wife had carne Asada and she loved it. I will definitely be coming back as my family can eat in peace with my son having so much to be engaged with visually.

Great space with a nicely themed dining room that’ll transport you to Texas without being«too kitschy». As other reviewers have stated, the plates are nice, tortilla chip server, trains overhead etc. The host Tito, is very friendly and welcoming and all of the waitstaff go above and beyond to make your dining experience and enjoyable one. The Salsa had great flavor and was fresh. And the drinks are innovative and good — but damn they’re tiny. By the time you fill that small glass up with ice there’s only room for about 3 oz of your cocktail. Where’s my other ounce? Lol. As for the food… Their chili is VERY flavorful and different. We also ordered those chicken cheese egg roll things(which were good, but kind of boring. Guess I was expecting more). My friend had the smoked prime rib which was excellent. Well seasoned, perfectly cooked, nice mild smoke flavor, moist and juicy. Excellent fresh mashed potatoes and crisp fresh veggies. I went with the Tex-Mex combo of enchiladas, chimichangas and a burrito and this is where things got a little confusing to me. All of the meat they used tasted like excellent smoked Texas BBQ(grilled meat, not sauce) but it seemed a little out of place when incorporated into the«traditional» Mexican/American dishes. It’s like I was eating from two different restaurants all on the same plate. Personally I think they should ditch the Tex-Mex entrees because their BBQ is very good on its own. The next time I visit I’m gonna just stick with their delicious smoked meats and leave tortilla wrapped enchilada sauced stuff alone.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here for lunch on Saturday. Our waitress was super friendly, and the food was great – and I’m a Texan, so you know I don’t give out good reviews on Tex-Mex lightly. We’ll be back for sure!

We came here for a late lunch with dad, not knowing what to expect, but as soon as we walked in, I knew we’d have a good meal– this place has a wonderful vibe and you instantly feel welcome, like you’re in the right place. Camille, our friendly waitress, instantly brought chips and salsa which tasted fresh, and really yummy. I started off with the Chicken Soup with carrots, celery, onions and avocado — delicious and most likely the best Chicken Soup I’ve ever had. I am serious. This left me more than enough room to dive into my Piggy Mac, their super sticky and delicious Mac and Cheese, which I paired with Pulled Pork. I didn’t leave a drop, that stuff was awesome! Mister scarfed down their Brisket Sandwich, accompanied by Cottage Fries, Pickle Chips, Cole Slaw AND a side of Corn Bread, which was tasty. I LOVE real Corn Bread and this was the real deal. My dad polished off their Carne Asada with Rice and Beans and Elsa dug into the Magnificent Seven Salad. We were all so happy with our choices but we’ll be back to explore the menu further and try out their desserts.

Went with my family for a birthday celebration last night. It was a perfect meal to end a perfect birthday. The staff could not have been more gracious and accommodating. We mentioned that my nana might get cold in the larger dining room and they brought up a small portable heater that was inconspicuous to other patrons. The table-side guacamole was terrific with homemade chips and salsa. The margaritas were fantastic and my kids’ Shirley Temples in a boot glass was an added bonus. We tried(almost) every appetizer on the menu and all 8 of us were in heaven with each bite. You could actually taste the fresh ingredients. The wings(3 different kinds) were OUTSTANDING! My personal favorite app was the brisket Quesado. A must! Our entrees were the steak, ribs and mac n’ cheese brisket. All delicious with excellent presentation. Not typical of other southwestern restaurants. The chef came out to introduce himself and you could literally see the passion in his face – he takes his food and his restaurant very seriously. Highly recommend to all ages. This place is a home run!

As a road warrior, I lean towards the local places vs. chains. On the east coast, good BBQ places are sometimes hard to find, great ones are even harder. RJ’s is in the great category. Their salsa is amazing! Lots of different flavors going on, not too hot, just right. I had the dynamite blasts — fantastic. There was a little spicy bite in them and great flavor, not too heavy. I had the pulled pork main entrée with beans and corn bread — excellent smoked flavor throughout. If you live in this area of NY/CT, this should be your go-to BBQ joint.

My friend suggested this place after he had a great dinner last week and we were so happy we tried it tonight. The guacamole was excellent along with the enchiladas and ribs with Mac and cheese. All of the staff were friendly and attentive and we are so happy to have this establishment in the community.

We were a party of 6, for a birthday celebration, went there last Saturday evening to try it out. Word on the street was that it was good. The Good: Service. Our waitress Camille was super-wonderful. Helpful, clever, a sense of humor, and very attentive. The rest of the staff also kept us well supplied with water, etc. The restaurant and the bar areas are separate. There’s a toy train that runs on an overhead track between and around the bar area and the restaurant area. Its whistle blows every so often. It’s OK, but at least from our table it wasn’t very visible because we were centrally located and the train’s route was similarly central. A better route that included the periphery of the room would have been better. We passed on starters. But on the table were placed baskets of multicolored Tortilla Chips and bowls of Salsa. To me the chips were too bland and the salsa was too garlicky — but that’s just one man’s opinion. Don’t accept my word concerning the garlic; I like garlic is small doses. The chips needed to be replenished, so we clearly ate them; I guess they weren’t too bad. We ate from the BBQ menu. All BBQ meals come with two sides and Honey Cornbread. Portions are generous. The Not-So-Good: Noisy. There’s nothing at all to absorb any sound — it’s all wood. I asked about the ribs — Baby Back Ribs, with sauce, or Saint Louie(yes, that’s how they spell it on the menu) which are dry smoked without sauce. Full racks or half racks of both. Camille said that she’d never seen anyone finish a full rack. I ordered a full rack of Baby Back Ribs and finished it. Unfortunately, the ribs were both overcooked and dry — they needed more sauce. Sauce should be automatically provided on the table when a guest orders ribs — or BBQ anything — but it wasn’t. I asked for more sauce and was given two squeeze bottles, a mild sauce and a habanero pepper sauce that was spicier; spicier is what I used, and to me it wasn’t overpoweringly hot. In addition, the ribs were served curved-side up, and there had been no attempt whatsoever to cut them between the ribs to make eating them easier. The Cole Slaw — which doesn’t appear on the printed menu, but is available, was bland. My Seasoned Fries were fair. The Honey Cornbread was better than fair. They were out of Corn on the Cob. One grandson had a half rack of Baby Back Ribs; others at the table opted for the Lone Star Pulled Pork. My wife and an adult daughter shared the dinner portion and had more than they could finish. The consensus was that it was just fair. Summary: We’d really been looking forward to top notch BBQ, but this wasn’t top notch. Will we be back? Not soon. Q’s in Port Chester is a very different dining experience, but the BBQ is fan and away better. $ 7.00 for a draft beer seems excessive.

Was there with the family today… great place and glad to have a place like this local. Service was great and the chef was super cool. He came out to talk to us and let me and my kids go in the kitchen and check out the smoker. It was huge and they just finished smoking wings. He let me have a taste right out of the smoker… OMG. I definitely know what I am getting next time. They had a nice rub on them. The fajitas were fantastic and my wife had the«piggy mac». That was out of this world. Pulled pork and Mac and cheese. Ambience is great and the decoration with a cool train running through the restaurant really gives it a nice touch. Will be definitely going back again.

My husband and I loved this restaurant! The baby back ribs were incredible! Along with the staff, the owner was very personable. I also loved the décor! The portions are large so I would skip the appetizers!

I had one of the WORST customer service experiences that I have ever had in my life at Rattlesnake Jack’s this past weekend! I was eager to try out Rattlesnake Jack’s, as it is always nice to enjoy a new dining option. My friend and I decided to give this restaurant a try. Upon entering the restaurant, we noticed that the air was very hazy. We requested a table for two and were led into an EXTREMELY smokey dining room. We explained that my friend suffers from very severe asthma and politely asked if it would be okay if we moved to the other dining room. After we were relocated, we sat down to take a look at the menu… fully intending upon ordering dinner and drinks. At this point, a young waitress came over to speak to us(we did not ask to speak to anyone, she came over of her own accord). She explained that the excessive smoke in the other room was due to another diner having ordered fajitas. We explained that this seemed really odd, being that we have both eaten in countless Mexican restaurants over the years and have never seen a smoke issue like the one at Rattlesnake Jack’s. I suggested that perhaps it was a ventilation issue? The waitress then told us that we would be fine in this dining room… she just told us to «make sure that neither we, nor any of the other diners in this room, ordered fajitas!» After making this bizarre statement, the waitress walked away. My friend is a former restaurant owner and she had never heard anything so bizarre. Still, we figured we’re already here… let’s just go ahead and order. Yet again, we attempted to read the menu. At this point a young kid(early 20’s at most) sauntered over to the table and said, «So, I hear you have a problem with our ventilation?» I stared at him for a moment and replied that we had simply asked to move rooms due to my friend’s asthma and the smokiness in the other dining room. He said, «We’ve been open for two months and we have never received another complaint.» I calmly explained that he was now receiving his first one. He once again blamed the aforementioned atomic fajitas and walked off. Bear in mind that the ONLY statement that my friend and I had ever made to the staff was that the original dining room was very smokey and that my friend had serious asthma… we therefore requested the room change. After that, the staff approached us repeatedly, of their own accord… mind you, never to apologize or ask if we were interested in ordering anything… simply to be defensive with us. After our second tableside visit, we began to feel uncomfortable. At that point we opted to just cut our losses and go elsewhere for dinner. On our way out the door, my friend approached the hostess stand to let her know that we were leaving and why. Never once did she raise her voice or draw any type of negative attention. An older waitress at the hostess stand explained the the kid who had come to the table was, in fact, the owner’s son. While my friend was speaking to her, the kid in question walked up, rudely tapped my friend on the arm and said, «I’m standing right here.» He then informed my friend that«we had been complaining since we walked in and that we could just get out!» He was literally making a shooing motion with his hands! For what it is worth, I am a business owner and I was nothing short of appalled. All we had ever done was to request moving tables, from there the entire situation was mismanaged by the inexperienced staff… led by the owner’s son; who clearly lacked the maturity to be running the front of the house while Daddy wasn’t watching him. Frankly, were I the owner reading this review, I would be livid… at my son. The food here may be good, it may not be… either way, we will never know because neither of us will never set foot in this establishment again. Epic mismanagement of a simple situation.

Went again for the second time and was so happy. We got the fresh guac($ 10) which was one very large, fresh avocado mixed tableside with onion tomato cilantro lime salt pepper. A little pricy but really fresh! The highlight was the prime rib– this is a special for sat/sun and I highly recommend it! I’m usually not a prime rib fan because the texture of fat is too much for me, but the fat on this cut was melt in your mouth(I believe it’s smoked first). And the mashed potatoes that it came with was perfect for dipping! Also the grilled asparagus was a nice touch to the dish. I couldn’t stop stealing bites, and will definitely get this next time. Also the portion is huge! I think some sort of glaze came on the side, but definitely not needed. I ordered the burger with 3 spicy peppers– and yes it was very spicy! The meat was different from what I’m used to, a bit dry(not overcooked since it was still juicy, maybe less fat/oil than I’m used to in burger meat). The bun had a nice garlic flavor and was toasted. Great flavor, cooked well, large portion, and the waffle fries are the BEST. BTW I can’t get over the free salsa that comes with chips at the start… thick and flavorful, not like the runny salsa that usually gets plopped onto your table when you sit down.

Excellent cocktails with creative ingredients was just what I wanted this evening. From this point things just got better. Camille, our waitress provided excellent service and had great suggestions. Ambiance was fun with great comfy seating(room to the right). Major attention to Southwest themed décor infused everywhere. Make sure to check out train and southwest village. Portions are massive and loaded with delicious, fresh ingredients. I ate light and had a taco salad that was beautiful. The chili was spicy, thick, and interesting. Great spot for families.

Like a lot of people who have been passing by here for months, I was anxiously awaiting the opening. We came in within the first week or two to an almost full restaurant. They did a nice job with the renovations, very southwesty. Our waiter was super friendly and enthusiastic. It is quite a big menu and took a while to make a decision. My girlfriend was not very hungry and only ordered a side of cornbread and a drink. I went with the Carne Asada, which was very good, as were the sides of refried beans and rice. I particularly liked the presentation with the sides in small tortilla bowls. I think the beer selection needs some improvements though, too many boring brands, and not enough for the beer lover. My only gripe would be that I feel the entrees are on the expensive side for this type of cuisine. I would definitely be back as I find the menu quite interesting.

The hostess was not very gracious, but I think she was overwhelmed by the crowd. The server was exceptional. the food was delicious, worth the extra long wait between drinks served and the dinner served. The busboy didnt speak a word of english. I know that once they are open a while it will be fantastic. The décor is ok… love the glasses, boots and canning jars. The bartender(female) was very nice. We will be back!

My boyfriend and I have ordered take out from this restaurant but this was our first time eating inside and it was fantastic! The décor is super cozy and the staff was attentive; our waitress Tiffany was very good. I had the flaquita señorita cocktail which was delicious. All of the food was delicious as well. We had he coco loco chicken, the brisket dinner, mac and cheese, fries, and the fried ice cream. We both really enjoyed our dinner, the food wasn’t too heavy but all tasted good. The fried ice cream was only ok but overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be back!

As for the food… The mojitos were excellent and they have a good selections on tap. We didn’t order entrees this time, but our appetizers were on point! We will be coming back to eat our way through more of the menu!

What a great place!!! Started off being greeted by a warm hostess and seated in a booth which was very comfortable I must add ! The menu had a lot to offer even for a picky eater like me!!! Started with the portobello crips, seriously best appetizer I have had in a long time!!! For dinner I got a brisket sandwich it was so tender and juicy I couldn’t have asked for better! This place is off to a great start. Even the owner came over and made sure everything was exactly how we ordered it, lovely women! Definitely will be back to rattlesnake jakes!
