Mediocre food and service. Ham, mushroom and olive came back as ‘half’ mushroom and olive. Good reason it was empty.

went in with my brother for a nice dinner after work. it took 15 minutes for our young inexperienced waitress to relay our order to the kitchen(whom i do not hold accountable). after 40 minutes passed from the moment we walked in it was frustrating that our food was not ready. when we asked our waitress how long for our food she informed the owner who came out and said«whats the problem guys»…we informed her 40 minutes was our frustration… in hind sight i should have said the way you operate your business. she also informed us the restaurant was busy. only 4 tables! she then went in the kitchen and popped her head out saying its only been 27 minutes in a condescending demeanor(27 min from when our food was relayed)…at this point we walked out! which is a first in my life. from the looks of what people were eating the food has took a turn for the worse and it is now extremely expensive compared to the previous owner who produced a quality experience. stay away and go anywhere else you will be happier… rudys in closter blows this place out of the water and is less expensive. worst italian restaurant i have been to hands down… did not even get to taste the inferior and smaller looking dishes.

I’ve been here a few times already, and each time I am pleasantly pleased with my experience. The staff is attentive and very friendly — they make you feel comfortable and at home. I have ordered the artichoke salad with goat cheese and balsamic dressing twice here — it is one of my favorites! Their pastas and pizzas never disappoint as well. I recommend coming here for some good quality food if you’re in the area. We’ll definitely be coming here again and again. Thank you, Presto’s!

I had delivered one large pizza and waited for 55mins. It was not hot and warm. It was nasty. I will never order dishes there.

This review is for the overall experience of throwing a party at Presto’s, which I would do again in a heartbeat. We wanted to throw a party for a group of about 40 people at Presto’s the Friday after thanksgiving(a 10 year reunion for the HP class of 2004) and were able to get this planned for a reasonable budget within a few weeks. Presto’s management and staff was extremely friendly, accommodating, and everything ran according to plan. We were able to bring our own beer and wine, DJ(yes, Andy Walker,) and had a fantastic time. The pizza(Sicilian, cut into small slices) was delicious and pasta and salad were welcome additions. Thanks Presto’s for providing a great atmosphere and service for us to enjoy the night! I highly recommend their space for a gathering of 30 – 45 people. The ambiance is classy and unpretentious, and the lights can be raised or dimmed, depending on your mood. BYOB makes it incredibly flexible on the beer/wine side of things and overall, it felt great to support a local business in HP. Not to mention, their management again, was extremely accommodating and flexible. Hopefully this place will be around for our next reunion!

This is the go-to date spot for my boyfriend and me. The atmosphere is intimate and the ambiance is quite romantic. The servers take good care of you, which gives the restaurant a more upscale vibe even though it’s still relatively casual. Neither my boyfriend or I really liked seafood, but their fried calamari was enough to convert us! We crave it and the delicious sauce served on the side– it’s a must order for us. My other favorite is their chicken rollentini! It’s super flavorful and even the mashed potatoes served on the side are excellent! For a more casual meal, their pizza is also quite good. This is some seriously solid food!

In a downtown consisting of merely a deli, a convenience store and a gun shop, Presto’s Pizza is a pleasant surprise. I visited twice over the summer and both times I ordered the chicken francese sandwich. This unique menu offering consists of nice, not too thin cuts of chicken perfectly marinated in francese sauce topped with melted mozzarella cheese on a crisp baguette with buttery dipping sauce on the side. I have not tried anything else on the menu, but this item alone is reason to visit the restaurant.

What a pleasant surprise in such a quiet neighborhood! Tried the Prosciutti, Mozarella Pizza which was excellent, as was the Filet de Sole, stuffed with crabmeat. My partner had the veal parmigiana which had huge portions and was very delicious as well. Will definitely be regulars here.

Went here on a whim looking for a new brick oven place in our area and it had good reviews on here. It was a Wednesday night, so maybe it’s not the best night for the kitchen. The service was very good and the food came out quickly, too quickly actually. Sadly, the best part of the meal was the garlic bread we ordered as a starter. The brick oven pizza was not good according to my companion, and it looked like it came out of a regular pizza oven, not a brick oven. I ordered shrimp fra diablo over capellini. The shrimp tasted like it was frozen, not fresh, and was brutally over cooked, so tough and unpleasant tasting. The sauce was alright, but could have been spicier. The pasta was not al dente, but not over cooked either, just meh. The ambiance is nice, which between that and the good waitress is the only reason for two stars and not one. I don’t know if we’d give it another shot given how many other options there are in Bergen County.

This is not brick oven pizza. They put bricks around a modern metal pizza oven. It’s slopy tasteless pizza made from canned sauceand factory mozzeralla nothing fresh

Really good Italian food for some of the fairest prices you’ll find. I have been here twice and was extremely happy with everything on both occasions. The memorable dish for me is the double cut pork chop. It is enormous and if you like food on the ‘very spicy’ side, the hot peppers that surround it will hit the spot for you. Also, being BYOB makes this place an absolute gem.

This was our first visit to Presto’s. We had lunch. Bought a $ 15 for $ 30 Groupon. Food was very good. I had the Cold Antipasto as an entrée. I’m on a low-carb diet, so the ample amounts of prosciutto, cappicola, dry sausage, sharp Parmesan cheese and mixed Italian olives was perfect. My wife had the Spinach Romaine Salad with apples, walnuts and blue cheese, topped with loads of grilled chicken. The coffee was fresh and hot, served in a double sized cup. Thought it was strange that they don’t have half & half, just milk. The service was friendly but a bit slow. In fairness, there was only one waiter and the place was filled with middle school kids celebrating the last day of school, so he had his hands full. Presto’s dining room, adjacent to the pizzeria, looks like it was decorated by Lilly Munster. Dark with purple drapes and lighting fixtures which reminded me of an old Italian funeral parlor. We will gladly eat here again.

Travelling around the country, it’s been so long since I’ve had great pizza, and while Ray’s pizza in nearby Closter is still my favorite pizza, Presto’s is a VERY close 2nd. Their brick ovens always smell so delicious upon entering, and while I’ve never had their entrees at this location, I have been to the Hackensack location many times during high school and can vouch for the whole menu, not just their pizza. Fine craftsmanship and attention to detail make every pizza even, cooked perfectly, and a treat for the mouth. There are a lot of places around here which do good pizza(Cousin’s, Tony’s, etc.), this is a place that does GREAT pizza.
