Taqueria Mexico

I’ve gone here since I was really little, the old staff knew me really well, but I was around 4 or 5 back then, maybe 3, I’m not so sure, considering I was very small.

I am giving this review 1 star because I never know what to expect when I go here.
I can have pleasant visits where my servers and food are great, but then I have terrible experience when I attend with a group. I also order in advance to bring food home, but have never received what I expected.
Today I called an order ahead on the phone. It took me three times to call before they picked up the phone. This has happened on other occasions, but I am okay with it. I understand that they get busy and typically have one person answering phones, especially on Saturday night. I ordered my usual and the lady on the phone read back my order to confirm. She gave me an estimated wait time to pick up and the price. So far everything was fine. I went to pick up my food and it was already packaged and ready to go. When I got home and went to open my food, I realized that they have given me a completely wrong order. I originally ordered chicken flautas but received carne asada. I called Taqueria Mexico and explained what happened. I asked if I could bring it back and get my correct order, but they said there was nothing they could do. They said I should have checked my food when I picked it up. However, they never gave me this option when I picked up my food. They just handed me my order. I am very disappointed in my recent visit and doubt I will be going back again.

Ordered by drive thru, was our fist time eat here. Had a Shrimp diablo and beef enchiladas. Got some barbacoa tacos as well. Food was delicious, not to mention the cravings amplified the experience but the quality was good. Price was a bit much for what we ordered and can be a turn off, but i know for sure if am in the mood for some good eating tex mex, i know where to go.

this Mexican food joint hits the spot. it could get a little busy so make sure you go before the lunch rush. boyfriend ordered the chimichanga and it made me regret ordering my enchilada because the chimichanga was amazing!!! I recommend anyone to order that when they go to taqueria mexico. the coronarita is super huge so just order one and share it someone because it’s kind of painful to finish it alone without getting brain freeze. oh, we also ordered shrimp cocktail. it’s as big as the coronarita. it’s a good appetizer to start off with for the whole table.

First time using the drive thru this afternoon. There was only one car I front of me, and the service was quick and great…
I ordered the taquitos plate and when I got home. It was still warm and the meat wasn’t dry. It was really good. I like how they grilled and diced the onions. I also ordered a side of chips and salsa along with queso on the side and it was good!!!
I am going to try the drive thru again next time.

This place is my go to Mexican. I love the food. However, the service is getting really crappy. My family and I went there Sunday night (May 15^th). It took forever to get our drinks. The chips and Salsa came out with the drinks. The bar tender was eating and playing with his phone while the dirty glassware stacked up. All the waiters were playing with their phones. We weren’t greeted when we came in and we weren’t thanked when we left. It was ridiculous.

Go weekly. Fabulous food. Good vibe, but very dirty. Always leave with a bug bite. BUT we still go back once a week!

I love the pastor plate, so I’ll give it that. Otherwise I have NEVER received a correct order for take out. Each and every time I have to check the order right there at the counter, and wait to get the correct food. When someone else goes and doesn’t check… guaranteed to get the wrong order. I wish this had happened once… but it’s been five times in less than a year.

Sometimes the servers are slow to direct people, but it’s usually because they’re busy. I love coming here on Sunday afternoons for tacos, shrimp cocktail, or burritos. I’ve never ordered anything from this location that I didn’t like. Lengua is superb!

Bad service. More like Tex mex then authentic Mexican. Over priced. Dirty tables and floors.

My second favorite of the Taqueria Mexico locations in the area. Newer building with plenty of seating. Staff is attentive even during busy times. Food is good but I’ve had better at another location in the chain.

I’ve visited this location a few times before. The staff is very friendly. We decided to sit outside on the patio because it was a little cold inside. Most of the tables outside were not cleaned from previous customers. The table next to us wasn’t cleaned for the entirety of our stay and the food attracted flies. The Sweet Tea is really sweet and thefood is delicious !!!

If you want good taqueria food, this is the place to go. Everything is fresh and the service, whether dine in or drive thru, is always great. Prices aren’t bad either! I hear the happy hours are fun too… They had a great jukebox playing, but I haven’t heard it the last couple of times I was there.

If it weren’t for my adventurous friends, I would never discover great spots like this. Like Killeen, we’ve got a surplus of Taquerias but not all are created equal. I came here for a nice dinner & what I ordered was menudo. I am a steak or soup kind of person. I’m very open to trying new things but my biggest regret was not having the opportunity to lay my taste buds on menudo until now. It is one of the best things I have ever tasted. The broth was amazing & they are very generous considering I only ordered a small bowl. Customer service was great & this place had a good consistent crowd. I had a great first experience & it certainly will not be my last.

First timer at their restaurants, pleasantly surprised menu choices and full bar. Great friendly service and excellent Mexican food. Steady flow customers, but sat right away. A little noisy, yet it adds to a festive mood. Love the tables and chairs– very cheery.

Red and green sauces were bitter, and food was just okay. Ladies were nice, but customer service needs to improve a lot.

Only had chips and salsa, came for «happy hour» Wednesday. Which at the time I didn’t know it was only 2 dollar bottles. Our waitress seemed new and shaky, at the end when she brought us our bill, she stood there and waited for me to sign it, pretty awkward, I just wanted to sit and finish my drink. The chips were average like they were bought from HEB but the salsa was ok

I love Taquerias Mexico, best tex-​mex in Harker Heights. The food at TM is great and it is inexpensive, with an attentive staff (despite being packed everything we come). I love the Chicken Mole plate.

So far the best mexican food (tex mex) in Killeen.
Enchilladas — Delicious
Fajita — Delicious
Carne Guisada — Delicious (a little too much chili powder, but soft amd tender).
Rice and beans — Delicious
Guacamole — Delicious
Bathroom — nice and clean.
Would return, would recommend to a friend!

Favorite haunts in Harker Heights were full tonight so we thought we would try something new. This place was crowded but there were some seats available. Staff was friendly and attentive initially. Beverage refills were non-​existent. Breakdown:
1. Salsa — pretty good
2. Queso Flamado (please excuse the spelling) — gross… actually reminded me it was about time for an oil change in my car.
3. Margarita — good
4. Chicken Poblano — waaaaaay to much cheese, dry
4. Charro Beans — wife did not eat them
5. Tacos — okay.
Overall — probably will not return. Both of us are a little queasy right now. Now I know how Chef Ramsey feels when he tastes the food at some of the restaurants he tries to fix.
