This place is one of those hole in the wall joints that you would normally just drive past and not even know you missed it! But, last night I went with two Louisiana natives to KG’s to test out just how ‘authentic’ this place was. The food did not disappoint! We ordered 4lbs of crawfish, the River Boat Queen Platter and a kids meal. There was so much food for four of us! My daughter didn’t even want to eat her kids hamburger, she kept coming over to take gumbo and fried crawfish from our plates! The place is cozy and clean. There is an outdoor eating area and its BYOB. Finish up your fantastic meal with a slice of their homemade pecan pie and you’ll be in heaven! This place is a hidden gem in the Ft. Hood/Killeen area! Not to be missed!

We have been to this restaurant a few times. At first, the food was fine. We enjoyed sitting on the porch with our entire family. However recently, the quality has diminished. My husband’s crab cakes were burned the past two visits. The first experience was a time when the restaurant was very busy. The next visit we were the only customers and both meals and crab cakes were over done. We hate to do this– but we won’t go back. We prefer patronizing independent, family owned restaurants. We did not make this decision lightly.

This place is very good. Excellent quality and very fresh. I would def recommend this to a friend. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 star is I feel people throw it around too much. This place is affordable good food and won’t let you down. Solid 4 star

My husband was dying to try this place out. We finally made are way with cash in hand. We ordered take out. Upon arriving home we noticed the portions were too small for the price if the food. The shrimp was over cooked. It was a major disappointment.

What a deal! Order the footlong catfish poboy, the Boudreaux. It’s $ 13.95& comes with a platter of fries. Super delicious & more than enough for 2 hungry people.

This quaint, out of the way place off 190 brings pretty good cajun to Central Texas. My wife and I shared a platter. We started with the gator, a staple when we go to cajun places, and it was good but very small. I like a big piece that I can bite into. It wasn’t dirty tasting at all, but wasn’t the size I was looking for with the amount I paid. The gumbo and jumbalya were good but a bit spicy for my wife. The shrimp as good and not totally smothered in batter. I would like to have seen grilled shrimp, but most everything is fried. Next time I go, I’d like to try the all you can eat catfish.

I have finally made my way to KG’s. The service was great. But the food was simply horrible. I can’t believe people call this«seafood», if it is nothing but BATTERBATTER and more BATTER? Greasy. The decorations are weird. I think they tried to go with the Mardi Gras feel. Everything seemed… old…moldy…very…how do I say it… New Orleans? I think they could give this place a nice cleaning at least!

Mmm! Let’s see. I shared the bubba platter with my mom. could have easily shared it with my husband also! Catfish was delicious. Gator delicious. Frog legs delicious. So fullllllll! Beans and rice definitely needed some salt, but there it was on the table! It is a little on the pricy side but not bad at all for a great fish fry. Count on fifteen a person if you’re a hog like we are. Ten a person if you’ve a more normal appetite. We really enjoyyyyed the food and the ambiance is sweet! Dieters beware, though. The majority of the food is fried– opt for the gumbo if you want to maintain your girlish figure.

KG’s has to be the hidden secret in Killeen. This place is fantastic and is exactly the right atmosphere to get together with your friends and eat some cajun food. Especially crawfish. Last night was all you cat Catfish special that included, fries and hushpuppies.(I had the sausage and chicken gumbo). Absolutely delicious! It was my first time eating crawfish and you order by the pound. Although we thought the 3lbs we ordered was a lot, the 14lbs that the other table ordered crushed us. By June(end of crawfish season) it will be my job to put down 10lbs by myself. I highly recommend this place, its BYOB, which isn’t a bad thing because they cater to you with bringing extra ice to keep the beer cold. You will most definitely find me here on a hot night in the corner with my 10lbs of crawfish and my Dale Earnhardt Jr cooler.
