I used to shop here often in my Dartmouth days. Ally is a fabulous and bubbly owner, with tons of fashion knowledge. Tucked away inside the Nugget, this gem is a great find in the Upper Valley for literally ALL your designer needs. Everything is hyper-organized(and by color/color scheme) and reasonably priced considering the quality. It’s been a few years, but the next time I’m visiting Hanover, I’ll be sure to stop by for my next previously loved/owned item because everything here is in wonderful condition. I miss this as my option for local retail therapy. Check out the Pink Alligator if you’re in the area. And say ‘hi’ to Ally and pick yourself up some shoes – the selection is fab but not for someone like me with big fee.

My perspective is from someone who consigned with them once. Consignment options are somewhat limited in the area and it shows. Clothes are in decent shape and range in cost. However, if you consign you’ll need to be very on top of what you bring into the store and make sure you check in with them. It’s prob the case with other consignment shops, but your stuff sits in the store for 3 months and if nothing happens with it, you part with your merchandise. It’s donated. Meh. I will prob try to go somewhere else. Woodstock or White River Junction, maybe?

There I was halfway through camp pick-up, killing time, wandering the two, or is it three blocks of Main Street, Hanover. Pink Alligator is tucked away but well worth a tiny search. Go here. It’s great. Bring things, get things. There are many treasures. The clothes, shoes and accessories are fantastic. AND the whole store is organized by color. I LOVE that. Three days ago there were Christian Louboutin ballet toe shoe flats for $ 25, a rack of Diane von Furstenberg, and every designer jean under the sun. I got a Vince white linen shirt for $ 20. The woman who runs it is very nice. At Beacon’s Closet in NYC — my most recent experience of consignment — the clerks are famous for going out of their way to make you feel like a loser.
