I love Hill Opticians. I am camping in Vermont for a couple months and needed glasses. I received exceptional service. My glasses are beautiful and came in very quickly. They are very experienced and I am very happy, it was a great experience

I was visiting Dartmouth for a meeting and tore one of my contacts – and had no spare. I called and they couldn’t have been nicer. My optician sent my prescription, and they provided me with not one, but THREE extras and made sure I got one in properly. Then they wouldn’t even allow me to pay for them. They showed true hospitality to a visitor who would be unlikely to return, and that get my highest recommendation. :)

I think this office has made staff changes, unfortunately for the worse. The new techs, receptionist, and billing staff don’t seem to know what they’re doing. They seemed untrained — incapable of looking up patient info, confused about scheduling, unable to manage accounts correctly, and even too flibbertigibbet to make simple photocopies without total chaos. The outsourced billing company is laughably incompetent. Bills are for totally random amounts, they don’t seem to know how to manage medical accounts. I still thought Dr Hitchmoth seemed competent and professional. I was happy with the care she provided, and would still recommend her as a practitioner. But the business problems have made things difficult for our family this year, and we may look for another optometrist’s office. Also, the optician shop on site has only a limited selection. Frames seem kind of random, and out-of-date. It’s probably typical for most rural small-town stores, but disappointing for a college town.
