La Playita Restaurant

Didn’t get the chicken quesadilla we order for our child. When my wife went to pay she told them the plan quesadilla wasn’t touched because our kid wanted chicken also. She was bullied into paying for it when I was getting containers. Will not go back.

Came here with a group tonight for a birthday dinner. The food came out at all different times and drinks weren’t kept full. By the time my wife and I got out food about half of the table had finished and every one was wanting to leave so I had to box it all up.

Came here for Father’s day and wasn’t that packed so we decided to stay, we sat down asked how long it would take for the food to be ready, and was told it would take an hour. Waitress was a little rude with an attitude which made us not want to be there. But by then we had ordered our drinks. So me & my husband both decided to just pay for our drink’s and take our business, and money eles where. Which was so worth it to leave, we ended up having a great meal at another Mexican restaurant. We will not be returning, we use to come here all the time.

This place was had very good food and great service about 3 – 4 years ago. I don’t know what happened, but it had definitely changed. For starters their food is a hit and miss. One day it can be good but others it’s bland and tastes old. Secondly their waiters can be rude. We asked for an extra salsa and the waitress told us rudely that they only sold the salsa and that nothing was free. We obviously knew that, we weren’t asking for anything free.

I have eaten here a few times and it is always a hit & miss. The first time I had the menudo it was delicious, the next time too salty. The first time I had an asada soft taco it was ok, the meat could have been moister. I had a breakfast burrito one morning while heading out of town and it was kind of bland. As anyone can see I have given this place a few chances. The last time I picked up an Asada taco to go (it should have been looked at) big mistake! As it was probably the left over Asada meat from the morning, as it was worst than beef jerky and burnt out. I had to toss it on the trash as it was completely un-​edible. It should have never been served. Will I give this place another chance? Probably not. I fear that Hanford will never have an outstanding Mexican restaurant ever. Which is pretty sad considering more than half of Hanford is now Hispanic.

I just love this place! Every time I come into town I must stop here! The staff is extremely kind and the food is great. I have been coming to this place at least for four years now and not once have I been disappointed

I was a little weary about coming to this place to begin with but came because my husband said he came here once and it was ok. So you walk in to what looks like a dirty old diner and seat yourself.
When it was time to order, my husband asked, «how are your quesadillas are they pretty good size?» The waitress responded with a «yes they’re pretty good size» for confirmation.
After waiting 30 min they brought our food out and the quesadilla was literally smaller than the size of my hand. And I have small hands. Not to mention he had ordered it with carne asada and they forgot to put that in there, and made him the carne asada dinner plate along size the small cheese quesadilla. He asked the waitress why the quesadilla was so small, when she had specifically said it was good size, and her response was «well I don’t know, I don’t really pay attention» What kind of waitress does not know the menu and the food served there?! Unless she was referring to not paying attention to what he asked, either way I was extremely displeased. After waiting another 30 minutes to get his food (different order) since mine was already out, she brought it to him and then proceeded to be rude to us the rest of the time and also were never asked for any refills.
I will definitely not be going there again. I do not recommend this place for anyone who is looking for good Mexican food with good service.

Came here today around noon and the place was packed, only three large round tables was left, but we sat ourselves so there was no wait. I was a little nervous at first, because their decorations were left to be desired. It looks like an old 80’s diner on the inside, so this is not a first date place to go. There salsa really is that good, it’s chunky and not to spicy. I ordered the mini burrito especial with carnitas, it was really good and for the price $ 5.99 I got full off of it. The meat was tasty and not chewy at all.
My boyfriend ordered this fried burrito with asada, I don’t remember exactly what it was called. He didn’t like it very much, he said the meat tasted old, like it had been cooked then reheated and he had to spit out a few chewy bits. I thought the food and service was good, I would like to come back because I really want to try their pozole. I was surprised to see it on the menu, because I never see it in restaurants. Only gave it a three, because the bf was not impressed with his food.

Authentic food and reasonably priced. Service was good and the waitress was friendly. I have visited La Playita for both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was delicious! Chilaquiles con huevos was on point. I’d definitely recommend this place just dont expect great ambiance. But who cares if the food is yummy and you’re not on a first date!

Do not consider this place. Slow service. You have to pay extra for a second order of chips and salsa. It’s not even busy. Tables are dirty and you have to seat yourself because they don’t bother to greet you with menus or anything. We ordered just simple tacos and torta and it took 45 min waiting for dry, unflavorful, cold food. The only reason we came was to wait for our laundry next door, and that finished before the food. They didn’t even apologize for the wait. Even after while we were paying they didn’t ask how the food was. Avoid this place at all costs! Will not be returning.

With some advice from a mexican friend, my husband and I decided to this place and fell in love. The only reason its not 5 stars is because of the location and the décor. It is hidden in a shopping center and the inside isnt nice at all BUT the food makes up for that in every way. FINALLY a place that seasons their beans! I loved their beans and rice and my husband loved their enchiladas (he’s usually really picky on restaurant enchiladas). The staff was very nice and the service was quick. Overall, I was very satisfied and definitely reccomend this place for a great meal!

When I want some good mexican food in hanford this is where I come, the portions are perfect and the salsa is fresh and has great flavor, the flautas and steak rancheros are really good. The only tip I have is maybe they should offer chicken for their flautas not just the beef. Other than that there are no complaints, our service is always good. The servers are quick and polite.

I wouldn’t know the difference of good-​mediocre mexican food if it bit me in the butt. All I know is that taco bell isn’t authentic. LOL.
I like this place because they serve pozole and crunchy tacos.

Well yet another Mexican Restaurant and if your coming to get some great Mexican food, think again. For starters this place is located in a strip mall. Which wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t look like they put a bunch of tables in a vacant store. When the chips and salsa came out it looked promising with what looked like freshly made salsa. Only to be disappointed with the very stale chips. It definetly wouldn’t get better with the food as the food was in serious lack of flavor. So if your looking for Mexican food, avoid this place.
