First off, the name on the front of the restaurant is John’s. And there is a big neon on sign that says ‘Pizza’ in the window. The other reviews were very helpful in making our decision to go here. We were so hungry and there are so many restaurants to choose from in Hampton Bays and surrounding area’s. I’ve had good experiences before at little pizzeria’s that have the hidden restaurant in the back… So, we loved this place!!! The people are so calm and nice and so helpful… and the food was just DELICIOUS! The only minor problem was that they didn’t serve alcohol. There were many wine bottles on the walls but I’m thinking they were new owners? The waiter said we could go next door to the liquor store and buy a bottle of wine and bring it back. And the price? Very worth it!!! it was only $ 39 which fed my girlfriend, myself, and her daughter! We will definitely be back! Thank you!

There is no Rino’s at 125 W Montauk Hwy in Hampton Bays as it is now called John’s. Management should have updated Unilocal and not driven us crazy looking for a place that does not exist.

Lets get something straight… looks can be very deceiving. You get to Rino’s dining room by walking through a pizza parlor. Here is where the deception begins. You’re home! Rino personally cooks your meal, but only after Tom takes your order, makes a recommendation, tells you a joke, or eloquently engages you in conversation. Rino’s isn’t just Italian food, it’s authentic Italian food! Every dish individually made with love and with fresh ingredients. I have thought for a long time that Rino’s is one of the best kept secrets, and very under rated. Inexpensive food. Top quality ingredients. And, a Chef who grow up eating the same exact dished you did. That’s a great combination. My wife, whose name ends in a vowel, and grow up in a devout Italian neighborhood, never wants to leave Rino’s when we are done eating. Neither do I. And Tom and Rino, I got to say it… try Rino’s meatballs. They are the best you will ever have. Just don’t tell your mom, she’ll be heart broken!!! SALUD!

I went into this place expecting a pizzeria, and that’s what I got. Ambiance is nice, a bit overstated but charming. Italian was a last minute choice, so I opted for the take-away menu. Me and my lady always split our dishes so we get double the experience from our meals. She got a simple Penne a la Vodka dish. It wasn’t on their menu but they three it together anyway. It was heavy on the cheese which neither of us ever have a problem with, but it ended up being pasty and slightly less appetizing than it could have been. It wasn’t enough to stop me from eating the rest of it though. We also got a few garlic knots, because hey, who doesn’t like a good garlic knot? Unfortunately, these were not good garlic knots. Under seasoned and very dry, they were more like extra large croutons. Good news though, it went up from there! I started with the«spicy» wings. I have an affinity for wings an get them wherever I can, so the heat on these weren’t going to cut it. But if you like a little kick, they’re perfect. Regardless, they were nicely cooked, and tasty! I also went with the sausage and pepper roll. It was very worth the 4.95 price tag on that one. If I wasn’t so fond of stuffing my face, it would’ve been enough for a meal. It’s the greasy goodness you would expect from a pizzeria. Now, I never had much of a sweet tooth, so I wasn’t terribly upset that the had no more Italian cheesecake. I was, however, upset when our second choice dessert wasn’t even given to us. That lost a star from me right away. Overall, I would call the experience a positive one, I would go back gain to see what else they have to offer.

The veal in this place is better than you get at high end city trattorias. dont be afraid to stay for dinner in the back. Staff is great and prices are very resonable. Better pizza than the other local joint too!

So, this was our first time dining in. We usually order take out from this establishment previously known as «John’s Pizza». Atmosphere — I see that Rino updated the dining room and it has a nice Italian feel. The wall mounted wine racks with candle sconces was a nice touch. The metal racks loaded with wine give it an Italian pantry feel. We were seated in a sectioned off area for two, which was nice. It gave us some privacy and we were really able to talk quietly together. The mirrors lining the walls could go. The place looks spacious enough without them. Service — Spot on! Our assistant waitress and waiter were excellent. Friendly, fast, courteous, and always there when you needed them to refill water, take away plates, etc. There was a little hiccup when it came to receiving our order because the printer jammed in the back and our order was delayed. It didn’t even matter because everyone was so nice and we were relaxed and enjoying their new dining room. No big deal. Food — Excellent! We had the tempura artichokes for an appetizer. They were flavorful and delicious. For entrees I ordered the chicken scarponella(??)(their way) — it was awesome! Tender chicken sauteed with fresh vegetables — peppers, mushrooms, and artichoke hearts. The lemon sauce was yummy. The only thing — I wish it came with some pasta to soak up the sauce. It was just a plate of chicken and veggies. My fiancée ordered the baked ziti(it wasn’t on the dining room menu, but they made it for him anyway). He said it was okay … there are other baked zitis that he likes better but he enjoyed it. I almost forgot to mention that the bread baskets they bring out are awesome. The bread is fresh and warm! It is accompanied by a side of olive oil, olives, and tomatoes. The rustic bread was my favorite but there was also squares of tomato foccacia that was tasty and fresh. Rino sent us some dessert on the house — chocolate mousse cake with an oreo crust. I have to say, I shouldn’t have eaten it … but we split it and loved every bite. The food was excellent. I have to say that the prices are slightly high for the area considering that your entrée does not come with a salad or side of pasta. But if you don’t mind that — then definitely come check it out. ~ Their take out is equally delicious. We usually order their plain pie but their take out baked pasta dishes are good as well. I have read some reviews calling the staff unfriendly, however, I totally disagree! Everyone has been nothing but friendly and courteous to us since we’ve been coming here for the past 6 – 8 months.

Pizza quality doesn’t have to diminish the farther you get from Manhattan. John’s Pizza, nestled deep in the eastern end of Long Island, serves pizza that can hang with the best of ‘em — worthy to be on the short list of some of the best pizza spots in Long Island. The toppings are fresh, lively, and flavorful… and they pile on such a significant amount that you end up with quite a heavy pie. You can customize as you please or order pre-made specialty pies by the slice. My only qualm is that, since they load up such an enormous amount of toppings, the crust(especially the thin crust I ordered) loses its crisp and I ended up with a slightly soggier crust after a while. Nonetheless, the taste and quality are well above average, and the good service and convenient ordering system will likely keep me from exploring other pizza options in the area.

If you wonder what NY pizza is truly all about, head over to John’s and you’ll get exactly that. And it’s not just an example of what great pizza is all about — it’s top notch. Located in the heart of my hometown, I have probably eaten at John’s 15,989 times — at least. In high school, once I had a car, I was there at least once or twice a week for a slice. And I’ve definitely walked from the Boardy Barn to John’s more than once. Totally worth it. Totally. Concoctions like their fresh tomato, buffalo chicken, chicken parm, and Mexican(yes, these are all pizza toppings!) are all delish and won’t disappoint. Last time I was home, we ordered a plain pie to eat at home — my boyfriend was wary of the term«plain» until he started eating and realized even just a regular slice of these pies are to die for! Great, great pizza. I haven’t been there in about a year(yeah, I don’t go home that often), but I just head they’ve revamped a lot of the décor — new flooring, updated dining room, new tables in the front area — I can’t wait to check it out! Casual pizza orders up front, upscale dining in the back, the sit-down dining room doesn’t ever get enough credit. I saw one review that didn’t bid the food very well, but I’ve had some amazing meals back there. If you want a nice sit down Italian meal in Hampton Bays, this is your best bet! Plus they have an inexpensive wine list and, from what I hear, weekly lobster specials for dinner.

The quintessential LI pizza place. The locals hangout in HB. Rockin’ slices, garlic knots to die for, bottled beer and characters behind the counter. I’ve been eating John’s pizza since I was in my mother’s womb, and it’s never disappointed me. Any visit to HB isn’t complete without at least a couple visits to John’s. if you visit later in the evening, esp. during the summer months, expect to find a sea of people, and at least a few crazies in the mix. But hell, it only adds to the fun. In the front is the pizza pickup and some tables to sit and eat by the slice, or a whole pie. In the back is a full on restaurant, candles, tablecloths-the works. Very 70s throwback, but a nice change if you feel like eating a full on meal. Additionally, next door to both the movie theater and Baskin Robbins, you can’t beat the convenience. So order a couple of plain slices, pile on the parm and be assured — you’re in NY, baby.
