Just got takeout. Large Buffalo chicken. Pretty good and i am a fan of bertuccis as well. Inside looked homey and a nice quiet atmosphere for having dinner.

I have not even received my pizza yet as it has been an hour and a half wait for my order of two small pies. If it takes that long to make 2 pizzas give me a heads up to make other dinner plans. Don’t quote twenty minutes if you cannot furnish within an hour and a half.

Good Hamden pizza, the reason for my rating, as long as you take our or have delivery service. Very slow inside dining area. Calamari tends to be chewy and heavily breaded, not recommended.

Love their grinders! Very good size and pretty good prices. I always get their tuna grinder customized to my liking with cheese and toasted with extra mayonnaise

Service here is awful, the place is dirty and looks like they never clean. I won’t step food back in this place, gross!

In a word: Repulsive. Got delivery of an incredibly greasy, slimy cheese pizza lacking in seasoning. It had no flavor and was overcooked, as were the rubbery chicken«tenders» and mozzarella triangles that were just too gross-looking to try: sloshed with tomato paste and breading the color of burnt sienna. This food actually made me nauseous. Never again. Recommend Cappies instead.

Really good pizza with THICKCRUSTOPTIONS(yay!) and a HUGE menu. Because their menu is so large, though, some things suffer. I’d like to see them eliminate some things from their menu and just do what they offer a little better across the board. Not by a lot, but I do feel everything is just slightly more expensive than it should be. I’d tip more for take-out if the prices were a little less. The big detractor is that take-out takes forever. They’ll tell you 20 minutes, but it always takes at least 40, and usually more. So whatever time they tell me is when I leave the house, then I stop and get some soda and Parmesan somewhere, and then it’s usually still a few minutes before it’s ready when I get there, unless I order in the late evening. They do always have Food Network going in the waiting area, so that gets you in the mood. I’d suggest not eating-in here. Bad, slow service and no atmosphere. They should make the banquet room their dining room and have a dedicated waiter.

Totally disgusting, grimy pizza, felt like I had to take a major dump 2 minutes after eating it. It didn’t seem very sanitary in there and the guy behind the counter seemed annoyed that we came in at nine o’clock when they closed at ten… I think he wanted us to leave, but we didn’t. Fountain soda was pretty good, so maybe that is a bright spot!

We stopped for dinner last night we went to the counter & was told to sit any where but the other room was cooler. It wasn’t but the server was very nice I asked for a diet Pepsi I told him I saw a bottle in the fridge when we came. We sat and waited a long time for our soda & when it came I said this is diet Pepsi not Foxon Park oh he said I’m sorry he left for another long time & came back with I believe was the same soda & I said this is diet Pepsi? Yes he said we took a bottle out of the fridge for you. I took a sip went up to the counter pointed at the bottle of Pepsi & said I would like that bottle of diet Pepsi. The man behind the counter said you can’t have that it’s for delivery customers!!! WHAT! I’m a paying customer but I can’t have a diet Pepsi! Give me a break if you happen to get so many delivery orders(after 7:00 pm), why don’t you just walk over to Krougers and pick some up? I got my grinder which was nothing special & washed it down with ice water. There are so many great pizza places in the area I don’t need to go back there.

Ordered the calzones here. To begin the order was wrong — I was charged for a calzone with a topping and there was nothing inside. The calzones were also very oily and lacking in flavor.

I’m way more forgiving on atmosphere and ambiance when I dine at a pizza joint if I know the pizza is going to satisfy my all day Friday anticipation, however, this place didn’t work out on any aspect. When I walk into a restaurant I want to feel welcomed cozy and warm. I want aromas of well prepared food to float into my nostrils and make me want to spend my money. Needless to say, I walked in and experienced the sight of empty tables and booths on this Friday eve. That should’ve been enough to make us turn around and walk out the door, however, my kids and I sat in a chili booth while our Pizza Friday anticipation began to fizzle away. There were two tv’s on and they echoed off of each other which I kept thinking how is that not driving anyone else nuts except us. The only thing I liked about the pizza was the brick oven crust which is actually the only factor earning this place stars. The service was ok I guess… I mean yes, the food was brought out to our table. I noticed there was a piece of plexiglass in the dining room that covered a window into the kitchen which would benefit the guest to be able to smell the sweet aromas of the homemade Sicilian pizza they claim to make or circulate some heat coming from the brick oven. Everything about this place is underwhelming. Although they’ve got me on convenience being they are located less than a mile away, they will not be my go-to pizza joint.

I decided to try this place yesterday. I ordered a grilled chicken grinder and instead I got a friend breaded chicken grinder. It was not awful, yet not what I ordered. I was feeing lazy, so I requested delivery and it took nearly an hour to arrive. There was nothing special about the grinder the bread was just generic and the chicken was a little over cooked for me. I don’t think I will be trying this place again. There are a lot of places to choose from in Hamden. If you are in dire straights then this place is okay just don’t expect a knock your socks off experience.

This place has the worst service in the north east consistently. When you leave, the stank aroma remains in your clothing indefinitely. The food is descent but the lack of service, the smell and the dirt outweigh it by far.

I’m editing the review below(originally 4 stars) as the food has taken a huge nose dive over the last 6 months. Orders are delivered incorrectly and the food tastes old, oily and kind of like it was made by someone who’s never had Italian before. Pizzas are greasy with uneven, often burnt crust. It’s really disappointing since this used to be one of my favorite Italian places. **original review** Certainly no Sally’s, but Sorrentos has pretty good pizza. I’ve also had several seafood dishes and breads which are also quite good. If you’re going to eat in in recommend eating in the dining room and not the small area near the doors/kitchen(although they always try to plop you down there)

This place makes decent food at a reasonable price. They have a large mozzarella takeout special on Mondays and Tuesdays for under 10 bucks out the door. Not the best pizza ever, but good and well worth the price. And unlike a lot of pizzas, the leftover slices are still doable the next day.

The pizza wasn’t bad(did not taste like brick oven) and the service could have been better(if she wouldn’t yell when in the kitchen). There were also a ton of fruit flies around the restaraunt so it was hard to enjoy our meal. I don’t think I will go back any time soon but I’ve also experienced worse. :-/

This is a hidden gem for good, cheap pizza outside of the New Haven pizza shops. Go to their website and print the 20% off coupon. The pies are big, cheap, and very good. I’m not sure what happened to Jennifer’s pizza, but I thought their pepperoni pizza was surprisingly not greasy. The bacon and the buffalo chicken pizzas are very good. I’m struggling to give this one four stars because of the décor. This place is a total dump. I’ve only done takeout, but I have a sneaky suspicion this would dip to three stars if I ate in the building.

Went in for the first time yesterday and ordered a pepperoni pizza. It was awful, dripping in grease. My husband only made it through one slice, I ate 2 slices, didn’t want to waste so we asked for the rest to go, but ended out throwing it all away when we got home. So sad. As well, the ambience left a lot to be desired. Our waitress had what looked to be slippers on her feet, and looked like she had rolled out of bed and shown up. We were the first customers of the day, but still … Bummed out, as we were hoping for a better experience and a new local pizza place to enjoy. But not this place, unfortunately.
