Waited for a waitress for 15 minutes, not sure if she understands English or spanish but brought some the menus and left for another 10 minutes, came back with water and we told her we were ready to order and she turned her back and left. We got up and left after another 10 minutes. I don’t think they noticed. I don’t know anything about the food but service is key for a restaurant and I don’t plan on coming back ever. If the food is anything like the service I dodged a bullet.

Terrible PLACE. Was sitting for over 10 minutes and was not even offered a menu, not even water. I was with my husband and 2 kids after the symphony of lights. No wonder it was the only place empty at the entire Gulfstream Park. I stud up and left but then returned to tell the manager about their terrible service he just said you can go some place else. Very rude and disrespectful. So STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE. THEYAREJUSTHORRIBLE. And for what I overheard the food is not even good. So I strongly recommend you spend your money somewhere else.

Worst place ever! Nothing authentic Italian about this place, food is not fresh, cold lasagna in the middle, eggplant parmigiana cold as well, salty shrimp risotto that taste like chicken and Parmesan cheese out of a jar… I thing is frozen food that they don’t even bother to reheat properly. I asked for a Malbec glass of wine from the list and the waiter kept telling me that’s the house wine, when he brought it, it was totally crappy! Service was the worst, waiter had an attitude when we return the lasagna, no apologies or whatsoever… And very expensive!!! Stay away from this place!

Despite some other reviews I found the service to be fine and the food of good quality What it lacks in ambiance it makes up with quality of food. I had a pasta dish and my friend had a skirt steak that was also delicious I would absolutely return!

Overpriced food by delusional Italian people. Try Yardhouse.

The place looks like its in its last wind. Got lunch today and really reasonably priced for the area. It looks like they listened to a few reviews and now do offer lunch specials. I will be back for the lunch specials but will probably call ahead as the service for the seated guest was pretty slow.

Caffe’ Il Gusto, Hallandale Beach LOCATION Village of Gulfstream Park, near the racetrack and plenty of shopping opportunities. SERVICE We sat outside for lunch, on the Florida Derby day. We were greeted by a nice Italian waitress so we chat a little as we are Italians too. The service was very good, she was nice so we had a great time. FOOD Being that the place is in the Village of Gulfstream, an upscale area where often in South Florida restaurants feel it’s okay to overcharge for so-so quality, we didn’t expect much, instead we were pleasantly surprised. My wife ordered the fagottini pasta, which was very good, but still not as good as my risotto ai porcini mushrooms. Delicious food and very reasonably priced, maybe it’s because it was lunch time. VALUE Can’t complain about this one. Prices were reasonable, the food we had was very good and so was our chilled white wine. Our waitress, like I said, was very nice and we were sitting outside, comfortably studying the races at Gulfstream ready to make our bets. We had a good time. Final comment To put it simply, next time we are at the races at Gulfstream Park, we will stop by this place again. It went very well the first time, so no reason not to go back. A favorite now in Hallandale for me.

We should have known when every other place at Gulfstream was packed outside and this one wasn’t, that there was a reason. But, we tried it anyways. Even though there were only a few tables full, the service was atrociously slow and we had to ask for waters a least 3 times, it became a joke at some point. The arugula salad and one of the pasta dishes we ordered were actually pretty good. The house bread was pathetic, I cannot believe an Italian restaurant were serve such a thing. And we ordered a flat bread– but it was not a flat bread. It was like a quesadilla or something, very strange, I would NOT recommend ordering that. So even though some of the food was good, I would not go back here. Lots of places have good food and also good service and provide a much better experience for a night out.

My friend and I visited ILGUSTO restaurant in gulfstream and the experience was a disaster! These people were out of a third world country experience not understanding English whatsoever to a mediocre Fettucini Alfredo to an owner that when we complained about the service and atrocious quality of the food she looked at us like we were in a themed horror movie? There was no reaction from Sabrina the owner of ILGUSTO even after I mentioned that my last resort was Unilocal she laughed so here I am laughing posting this horrible review. Service was good, but wasn’t enough to make up for the food. I ordered eggplant parmigiana. The outside edges were warm but the center was frozen. So I guess the food isn’t made fresh. Disappointing. The wine glasses all had stains as well. Won’t go back.

this place name should be «IL disgusto» terrible service. We went in a Saturday night and the place was not that full. They took too much time to put the drinks, the bread, and 1 hour to serve the food. We had to keep reminding the server every time he passes to remember putting the things that he has to bring, not just the food. The bread tasted old and the the server didn’t write annotations on what we ordered. It was a shame, because the pasta tasted good, but that’s not an excuse to pay for another cooker. We’re still not coming back.

I went to this restaurant for the good reviews. Sadly I got the salmon, dry like a pice of paper, the pasta I order as a side was a pappardelle with can tomato sauce ;(, totally disappointed.

This place was excellent. I went there Saturday with my family and everything was fresh and amazing. The only reason for only giving this place 4 stars is that the service was not that great at times and one of the waiters did not really know the menu. My mother got the Fiochinno(I think that’s the spelling, but not 100%). This was probably the best dish we ordered. It is done with truffle and is so decadent. The cheese platter appetizer came with 4 different cheeses and 4 large portions of each cheese. For the amount they charge I thought there would be almost no cheese, but I was wrong. The tiramisu was delicious and very rich. The same can be said about the cannoli. All of the portions are a good size. I cannot wait to go back.

Reserved for our daughter’s first birthday and were treated very well by Antonio and Elisa. They put together a great set menu for the family including a family size antipasti plate with all the Italian favourites, salad, trio pasto with all the colours of the Italian flag and filet mignon! They also make fantastic desserts on the spot. This restaurant is a must try.

I really want Il Gusto to be great. I want it to be my favorite lunch place ever. Here’s how they can make that happen: 1) Focus on the food and keep things fresh. I’ve eaten lunch here several times, and each time I come, I’m left with a sad-looking meal and an equally sad face. The ciabatta bread they use for their sandwiches has always been hard and stale. I thought maybe I came on an off-day, but when I came again it was still stale and unappetizing. The Chicken Milanesa sandwich came with equally hard & burnt breaded chicken and dead-looking spinach. It almost feels as if the sandwich was pre-made and then heated up when ordered. Because I really want to like this place, I kept coming back. So, I ordered a salad another time to avoid the bread. Unfortunately, for $ 12 I had a very bland-tasting salad with lettuce leaves, and a few thin pieces of cheese across the top. I ate it sadly, thinking about the massive profit margin they earned on this particular dish. 2) Make it a gateway drug. Every time I come here for lunch, I look upon the«Specials» menu with lustful eyes. I want to be gluttonous and order spaghetti or their lasagna for lunch. But then I look at the price — $ 17 bucks for a lasagna at noon? Forget it, I’ll just order a sad sandwich. I’d love it if they made lunch portions of these dishes for lunch prices so I can try some other things and maybe be compelled to visit for dinner. 3) Keep up the good service. The servers have always been extremely friendly and fast. In general, I love the spot, the atmosphere, and the service. It’s very intimate and I love the chill café vibe. The menu offers great variety and appetizing Italian choices. With some work, they can make the food better — but it needs to happen soon. It’s in an extremely convenient location for my coworkers and I, but slowly they are all ditching the place because the food quality has gone down. I don’t want to walk around my office with an Il Gusto takeout bag and get«Ugh, really?» looks from my friends. Get better, guys. I love you, but you’re breaking my heart.

I come to Gulfstream Park often and this was my first time eating here. It was a great experience! Delicious pasta! I had a pear pasta with goat cheese sauce — amazing! Creamy, rich and flavorful! The very large ceasar salad we shared was very good also. More than enough for two! The gnocchi with red sauce and fresh mozzarella was excellent! Quick and charming service the entire meal. Sitting outside at the busy Gulfstream has great people watching. The wine offerings here were good. I had a chardonnay by the glass and my friend had the Chianti. Many fresh fish selections and risotto specials caught my attention for my next visit! There are speciality cheeses and champagne sold inside. Nice place!
