I love this place. The food and atmosphere are great. I know there are some bad reviews but honestly this place has a great vibe with great people

Short and sweet… this place is tired. People over 70 love it because it reminds them of «the old days». Big cavernous and impersonal. Food barely decent and no imagination. Serves basic Chinese food you can find at any local Chinese restaurant but at double the price. The food quality does not justify the cost. If you like to throw your money out on basic Chinese food and bad service, by all means give it a shot. I’ll pass.

I mean it’s Hallandale Beach, where else can you find authentic Chinese food — hello? When my Auntie brought me here, I was thinking uh-oh…where’s P.F. Chang’s, I will settle for another non-authentic wannabe Chinese restaurant. This was the only option nearby. Since we were walking around all day, lots of sightseeing and shopping, I’m ready to sit down and have some tea. Plus, we were HANGRY! My Auntie kept raving about the race track, yet she took us here at night, couldn’t see a darn thing even when sitting by the windows. The ambiance is so American, I can’t even explain. Panda Express would have been more authentic. Thanks to Unilocal,I’m Unilocaling about it. I didn’t want to tell my Auntie she’s no longer Asian, that would be a disgrace j/k LOL! Seriously, why in the world would she bring me here? The fried rice didn’t look like rice, as it was covered in some dark sauce, not sure if it was even soy sauce… eewwww! Nothing tasted right, will not be back.

This place is just nice. It’s simple. The ambiance is nice the view is superb and the food is well above average. We had a nice sampler, a couple great martinis, and a delicious 3 pound lobster. The desert was superb. The owner or manager checked on us and she was blissful. The service was great. We will be back.

terrible terrible service, the food is the same or lesser quality then your corner Chinese restaurant. 1 of the 2 stars because it has a great view. the prices are ridiculous. the view is not worth that much and the parking and getting to the 3rd floor is a hike I would not go back.

Christine Lee’s is on the 3rd floor of Gulfstream Park overlooking the race track, so if you score a table by the window, you can follow the action right over the finish line, aside from the TVs that are everywhere. However, both ambience and service are horrendous. The place looks like a casino or cruiseship from the 80s, and our waitress couldn’t have cared less about anything. My expectation was to see somewhat authentic Chinese food, maybe some dim sum, since it was Sunday brunch time. The lunch menu is very limited, so be sure to ask for a dinner menu. The prices aren’t that different, plus it has sushi on it. The spicy tuna roll was unmemorable and boring. My seared tuna salad was actually very good, but there was nothing Chinese about it. The Chinese entrees are super pricey, in the $ 30 to $ 40 range. Yes, portions are large enough to share and served with a pile of steamed rice, but you’d pay a fraction at any other Chinese restaurant. We tried a tofu veggie stir fry as well as an eggplant dish. Both very tasty, with brown sauces. My guess is they add MSG, because both the BF and I felt like crap/hungover this morning. I think your safe bet here is not the Chinese food but the sushi.

Best spare ribs in Florida. Peking duck and steaks are excellent. Wait staff is helpful and polite. Been back several times, and will continue.

Went there for my anniversary dinner with my wife. We were saddened by the poor food quality and slow service. Could have done so much better anywhere else.

A great old standby. This restaurant never disappoints. My family, friends, and I have been to this restaurant countless times throughout the years(even at their old location in Sunny Isles Beach) and have only had positive, satisfying, and fun experiences. The quality of the food is impeccable, the service is friendly and very professional, and the vibe is upscale, relaxed, and fun. The owner’s hands on management of the restaurant ensures every detail of your experience at Christine Lee’s will be pleasant and perfect! I really cannot say enough positive things about this restaurant.

Slow service, below average food, overly air conditioned dining room, dated décor and inflated prices. Fish was too sweet and over done. Calamari we obviously frozen and just meh. Gen Gao was greasy and more breaking than chicken. Lo Mein was swimming in oily sauce. I guess the track view is the only draw, that and the tasty Mai Tai I had. We paid the enormous check and ran. Stay away, lots of other options in Village at Gulfstream, anything would be better.

I don’t think that I will go back to this restaurant. My wife and I walked in and proceeded to the Captain’s Desk where we were greeted by an older man. We explained to him that one of our friend’s had made a reservation for 6 people and that we were celebrating two birthdays. He checked in the book and once he found the reservation, he told us that he will go and find Susan. Susan happened to be walking towards us and he began to tell her that we were a party of 6. She immediately replied,“I don’t have a table for 6 by the window.” Another woman then walks up behind Susan and Susan says,“Let me take care of this woman first.” She then walks away with this other woman. What just happened? First of all, we didn’t even ask for a table by the window. We just wanted to find out if there was a place that we could store the birthday cake until it was time to cut and eat it. Second of all, is that any way to treat potential customers? Susan probably sholdn’t be working in customer service if this is the way that she normally acts. The older man offered to put the cake in the dessert pantry until we wanted it brought out. We then sat on the couch while we waited for the others to arrive. One of our friend’s called and said that she was running late; however, she did mention that we were more than welcome to get a table and she was promised a table by the window when she made the reservation. So I walked up to the older man and just as I was about to let him know this, Susan comes strolling towards me and says, «I am setting up your table for 6 by the window.» But didn’t you just say 5 minutes ago that you didn’t have a table by the window? What is going on here? She then quickly walks away before I can even figure out what is happening. So my wife and I are led to the table a few minutes later and once everyone arrives, we begin to order food. I chose the General Tso’s Chicken with wonton soup and brown rice. The chicken was not great seeing as how they advertise themselves as a Chinese restaurant. The soup was probably the best thing about the meal. Almost everyone complained about how tasteless and bland their food was except for the 2 people that ordered Peking Duck. They seemed to like their meal. The other annoying aspect of this restaurant is that the food is overpriced. They request that you spend at least $ 25/person but considering the entrees are all in that price range, it’s not that difficult to spend $ 25. The waiter was decent although at times he disappeared. He did cut the cake and serve it which was nice. This whole experience started out miserably and it didn’t get much better. Susan was a complete you-know-what and I can’t believe that they allow her to deal with customers. I really can’t see myself eating here again.

I’ve been a Christine Lee’s customer since the early 70’s. Last night we celebrated a family members’ birthday there. It had been about four months since my last visit. Service was very good; I can’t say the same for some of the food. We ordered appetizers including spare ribs, egg rolls and a third item that was so unmemerable I’ve forgotten what it was. The spare ribs were very good but the egg rolls suffered from a too thick wrapper and filler that was borderline mush with little taste. The mains were a pork chow mein, chicken fried rice and some sushi for me. The chow main was very nice, probably the best dish of the night. The fried rice was okay but nothing to write home about. My sushi was inedible. The Yellow Tail(Hamachi) was dry and included way too much bloodline meat. The Tekka Maki roll had an funky, unpleasant taste and the Nori tasted old. This was the second poor eating experience in my last two visits. It will be a very long time before we step foot in there again!

This was the biggest disappointment. They were completely empty at 5 in the evening. Took my entire family here expecting excellent quality food. It was the most commercial Chinese food, and everything tasted terrible. The service was the worst we had ever encountered. After a few mix ups in our dishes, rude staff and terrible food, and expensive prices, I don’t know how they’re in business.

When I was a kid(before the internet) Christine Lee’s was a Miami Beach legend mentioned in the same breath as Joe’s or the Forge. When it reopened in its 5 or 6th iteration at Gulfstream my childhood memories returned. But, despite the spectacular view of the track the vast dining room provides the food is just blah as was evidence on our visit on Mother’s Day 2014. I’d go back, today if I could. But not for the food. Id go back for the comfort and excitement of a day at the track. Too and the food isn’t any better.

We are picky when we go to Chinese Restaurants. If the food quality does not meet the price, then we are disappointed. We don’t like American version of Asian food either. Located on the 3rd floor of the Gulfstream Horse race track & Casino overlooking the race track was definitely unique. Not a lot of Asian décor but there is one impressive statue of a Buddha at the entrance. Follow the signs and you will find the place. We came when Miami Spice was on, but opted for the regular menu. We ordered soup, Chritne’s special, house fried rice and eggplant garlic. Soup was the hot and sour soup which was tasty with not overcooked herbs –good for price. Christine Special was a combination of variety seafood on a bed of noodles. It tasted good and was a very large serving that could easily feed 2 – 4. All platters were large servings. Found it overpriced even though it included scallops lobster shrimp. They were cooked excellent but was not falling over with seafood. At $ 38 you decide, tasted excellent, large serving plate, lots of noodles. Tasty. Eggplant with garlic was good for traditional Asian fare(dim sum like) Our favorite dish was the house fried rice. You can have it served on white rice or rice blended with soy sauce. If you don’t have a sodium restriction take the soy sauce blend. Very tasty with lots if shrimp.

Had an amazing dinner here tonight. We were treated so nice by Mary Lee and Staff. The sampler platter while not calorie friendly was so good. Ribs, egg rolls and chicken wings and fried shrimp. Yummy. We were a group of six. The room looks beautiful at night by the way. If you like casino or poker or horse racing that’s a bonus because you can bet the ponies in there and go to casino or poker after. For entrees all the ladies chose the sea bass. Steamed veggies were perfect. Also side of sauteed bok choi hit the slot. Sushi for one of the guys and a strip steak for another. Everyone was very happy. Dessert was shared — a decadent molten chocolate cake with ice cream. No complaints about anything. Very happy. And very full. We all took home leftovers. Can’t wait for lunch tomorrow to eat them. Highly recommend.
