Super super nice staff but found the main courses flat. Although the pasta itself was the real deal. Homemade and perfectly cooked. The bruschetta was tasty but a little skimpy on the portion. Would definitely be willing to give the place a second try.

I was there for lunch with my family and it was a very nice surprise. Authentic Italian food, with very friendly staff and great ambience. I ordered the lasagna it was excellent, the best I had so far. The tiramisu was awesome. Come and try it you won’t be disappointed!

Food was good. I ordered the crab meat with shrimp my only problem was the amount of crab meat they use. Could use more for the 22 dollars they charge. Besides that food was good I rate them 3 stars

I found this little gem by my mom’s place in Aventura. We were early diners and service was very attentive. The food was very good and they have a nice wine list. We will definitely go back.

Visiting the city for a conference and looking for some true seafood… Which is oddly hard to find despite a lovely Oceanside location. Found Dal Maestro and my wife and I were very pleased! Having read a few negative reviews please be aware this is AUTHENTIC light cooking northern Italy style, not heavy hitting overly succulent styles widely popularized in the US. Greeted by Angela, Sicilian half of the couple owners, with a big smile and she was also our server and was quite pleasant and very attentive. She made the basic experience of a quiet lunch hour(came at opening) very fun. Minestrone soup was vibrant and not the bean based style most would expect. It stayed true to northern Italian style and was full of summer vegetable flavor and just perfect on the salt level. Perfect opener for our entrees. I got a solid rigatoni bolognese with homemade pasta. No complaints. I appreciate it not being over salted like most places! The real star of our lunch was the risotto frutti di mare. Not a heavy dish by any means as cooked lighter style as I’ve mentioned. It was beautifully briney with its mussels and clams, shrimp, pulpo, and calamari in Roma tomatoe and white wine sauce. This was a seafood lovers dream dish honestly. Full on the seafood flavors not on tons of extra sauce or fat flavors. Risotto itself was perfect al dente and made this $ 20 lunch plate the EXACT thing we were looking for. Highly recommend especially if you want authentic Italian cooking without the Americanized crap you’ve come to expect from everyone else.

W_O_W —- Thank you Aaron(reviewed just below) for the reason we decided to drop in to this absolute«diamond in the rough»! The location had me hesitate(small strip mall), but boy am I glad we saw it through! Angela/Luigi surprised us with some complimentary bruschetta(Awesome!). A nice bottle of Chianti and we began the dining experience like no other that we have enjoyed… Wife had the Mediterranean Sea Bass, with lemon caper sauce, served with grilled zucchini and spinach(5 stars!). For me it was the homemade lobster ravioli with the pink sauce(great!), daughters had spaghetti with similar sauce(they loved it!). We were stuffed(fat and happy) then the deserts… The deserts… Decadent, delicious, perfecto! Could have just came for deserts and it would have been 5 stars!!! We had Lemon Sorbet(must have!), Tiramasu(), Beignet(YUM!)! If ever NEAR this place and you remotely enjoy authentic Italian you absolutely must try this small family gem of a restaurant!

Spectacular cozy restaurant with absolutely wonderful homemade Italian food. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated with a handful of tables outside… The service is simply wonderful! As far as the food, amazing is an understatement… I was fortunate enough to taste two amazing entrees. The first was the lobster with homemade pasta and a spicy pink sauce — the pasta was made to perfection and the sauce with the lobster was decadent and sinful. The other entrée was the homemade gnocchi with mushroom and a very light cream sauce — the gnocchi was the absolute best that I have ever tasted and the sauce was a perfect compliment. For dessert we had the ricotta cheesecake which was delicious as well. All in all, this restaurant is an absolute winner. I can’t say enough good things about our experience here. It’s great to find such a local gem — I can’t wait to return!

Overrated 4+stars 4 of us had dinner. Started with salsds. Too oily and unbalanced dressing. Calamari salad lacking quantity of calamari as well as cruchny /crisp texture. Low value in ingredients does not justify the $ 13.00.price tag. Our pasta dishes were good. Pasta vongole was ok. Clams nicely cooked, as was the pasta. Lobster ravioli was very good. Mussels were good size but the sauce underwelming. Flavors unbalanced. Special snapper served in tin foil was visually unappealing. Too bad because we all wanted to love the food Probably will not be back.

Hello, The service was actually pretty good. Angela was very nice and treated us very good. The problem was the food. We came here because of the reviews but we weren’t lucky apparently. We ordered a beef carpaccio to start and it was fine. For main course I had a beef filet with mushroom sauce which I actually have made at home many times and this one was way under seasoned, I had to add salt and pepper to make this sauce taste like something but the worst part was the filet. For 34 $ you would expect a good quality filet, what I got was a tough tasteless piece of beef. My wife had the snapper wich was the special of the day and her was also under seasoned. What a shame, had high hopes for this family restaurant, hope they do better in the future but it’s unlikely we will come back.

It is located in a very strange place in the middle of a shopping center. The service is pretty good but they must have had a bad night cooking because I had a pretty bad experience. The lobster was very undercooked soft and mushy and you don’t want to play around with that kind of stuff if it is undercooked. And we had the squid and ink pasta, the pasta was black which I didn’t know but it tasted very very fishy if know when you go to Chinatown seafood markets it tastes just like that smell. I’m not sure if they cleaned it properly but it but I never had musells or a clams taste fishy like that. I was pretty nauseous after eating both of them.

I feel that this restaurant was surprisingly good. Angela was a great server and she modified plates according to what I wanted. The bread was wonderful. I’ve heard people tell me before that the bread is what determines the first impression of the restaurant and this didn’t fail. The restaurant was very clean and the bathrooms were no exception. Menu items are enough without feeling overwhelming. Parking can be a problem during certain times as they are located in a small strip mall that doesn’t seem to have enough parking up front when things get busy at the bagel place close by. I think you should come out happy and prices seemed very reasonable. Outside seating is also available.

Great ambiance — little place run by a cute couple. Definitely a bit off the beaten path, but the savings on décor and fancy locale get passed onto the price on the menu. We shared a salad, some of their pasta plates, and a dessert. Salad was different(pineapple, shrimp, and arugula) without being overly sweet. Pasta plates had generous helpings of seafood, and good plump meaty bits, especially the mussels. Could really feel that the pasta was homemade, it just had a lovely tooth feel. The missing star was for a few rough edges. First, while the ingredients are excellent, the sauces need a bit more kick. The Tagliatelle Nere is supposed to be spicy, but needed a much heavier hand with the pepper. Probably same for black pepper in the Cascarecce Gigi. Second, the wine markup is really a bit over the top. I object to paying over $ 30 for a glass-pour bottle that’s priced more like $ 10 – 12 in the supermarket. The food menu prices are quite fair, it’s just the drinks.

I remember Sage Plaza when the the only other dining establishment there besides Sage was a sketchy Chinese takeout place. Now there is a Five Guys and a little gem called Dal Maestro. As I think about the place I am almost salivating, thinking about one of the most delicious delicious dishes I have eaten in years. Dal Maestro is a labor of love from an Italian married couple, Luigi(chef) and Angela(front of the house). The small dining room is modern with a whimsical but tasteful décor. Angela greets you like you are family and from the first time she comes to your table, you can tell her mission is you make sure you are happy. She and Luigi went out of their way to make us happy in one respect. 12 year old wanted Ravioli but the only Ravioli on the menu was stuffed with lobster or cheese & spinach. 12 year old is my son with the more limited palette and would eat neither of these. Luigi agreed to make some fresh Cheese Ravioli for 12 year old. That is great customer service! By the way, it was delicious! Luigi makes all of the pastas served at Dal Maestro in house. 11 year old ordered the Paccheri Marecchiaro: Pasta ribbons with shrimp and crab meat in a light spicy cherry tomato sauce. It was good but not my favorite. The pasta itself was great, tasting homemade with a nice chewy consistency. I just was not a fan of the sauce, which I thought was a bit heavy. Husband had the fish special of the day, Bronzino prepared with wine and lemon. The fish tasted extremely fresh. The fish was light and flavorful, served with potatoes and zucchini on the side. Husband loved the zucchini. I am saving the best entrée for last. I ordered the pasta special of the day: a homemade pasta with Chilean Sea Bass, sautéed zucchini, sundried tomatoes, and Brie cheese. At first I could not taste any Brie in the dish so Angela brought two big slices of Brie to me. I would dip a piece of Brie into the pasta and it would just melt in my mouth. The whole dish was excruciatingly scrumptious! Husband and the boys lived it too. I actually had to eat while fighting off three other forks on my plate! Nevertheless, the dish was so filling, I still had leftovers. I was looking forward to eating them today but somehow, a ghost(or little mouse) got hold of my doggie bag before I even got up today! This incredible dish without a name is a special, but if Dal Maestro does not have it when you are there, you might want to try the Cassarecce GIgi. This pasta dish is made with shrimp but it also has sautéed zucchini in the lightest of sauces, similar to the dish I had. My only disappointment with the meal was with the appetizers. We shared a Bruschetta and a Parmigiana. I did not love the Bruschetta Much of the bread. was too burnt for me. The Parmigiana was a real miss for me. The dish was supposed to be an appetizer portion of fried eggplant and mozzarella baked in tomato sauce. I had to fish for small pieces of eggplant and I did not see any mozzarella in the heavy, slightly bitter tasting sauce. On our next visit I will probably try a salad. Oh Dal Maestro, you are so close to a coveted five star review! For your personalized service to your delicious warm bread, and of course the most delectable pasta dish I have had in years… you already have my heart and my stomach. I look forward to returning and trying some other appetizers and dishes so I can add that star.

We’ve been twice now and it’s been a excellent both times. We really like that Dal Maestro’s menu is primarily focused on seafood pasta. So far everything we’ve tried was excellent. The fried calamari appetizer is exactly how we like it — large pieces that are lightly fried and tender. The home-made pastas are the best. It’s obvious that this pasta did not come straight out of a box. We’ve also had the sea bass and it was fantastic! Even the bread is hard to put stop filling up on. Service is very friendly and even though once we were there near closing we never felt rushed. We’ll be back again. And again.

If you are looking for an authentic Italian culinary experience, this is the place to go. I Unilocaled earlier in the day and after searching through local options I came across Dal Maestro. Having a great love for Italy and Italian food, we decided to go with the reviews and stop at this small restaurant located in a strip mall. We really were not sure what to expect. But, after last night, I can tell you, this place is simply amazing. We started off with two appetizers, Ostriche in Pastella(Tempura Oyster on a bed of arugula with lemon) and Octopus Carpaccio. The oysters were large, plump, fresh and tasted amazing. The arugula base with lemon was a perfect compliment. We were equally impressed with the generously portioned octopus carpaccio with black olive tapenade. The carpaccio had amazing texture and flavor and a gorgeous presentation. When the pasta dishes came out, our memories of Italy flooded back. We tried the special of the day which was linguini with prawns in cherry tomato sauce and the Rigatoni Giacomo which was swordfish with eggplant, mint and cherry tomato sauce over rigatoni made spicy by our request. All of the pasta is homemade and it was simply amazing. From the prawn dish to the swordfish, we were completely impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and the simplicity of dishes that still packed incredible flavor. For dessert, we tried the tiramisu which was amazing as well as two mini cannolis. The dessert was accompanied by a dollop of whipped cream and wonderful strawberry sauce. We left as we left every dinner in Italy, satisfied, but not overly stuffed and very, very happy. To note: The restaurant is casual with open seating(not sure what the noise level will be like on busy nights). There is also outdoor seating available. There is lovely Italian music playing and the Chef and his wife were both born and raised in Italy. There was a wine list, it had some good selections in the $ 35 and up range with most averaging $ 60. The restaurant has been open for four months. They offer delivery!!! and takeout. They are open for lunch and dinner. As price is not a consideration that I use in a review(because the prices are listed and if you aren’t willing to pay the price, you should choose another restaurant) I would like to note that this restaurant is pricier than an average Italian restaurant being on par with more expensive restaurants in the area. That being said, it was worth every penny.

Southern Italian food. Fresh homemade pastas. Excellent service! Perfectly cooked pasta made in house every day. Everything was fantastic! This is a new restaurant that opened 3 months ago. Had the Paccheri Marechiaro. fresh homemade pasta with shrimp and crab meat in a spicy tomato sauce. The chef’s wife, Angela offered me a free sample of one of the house favorites, the Casarecce Gigi. homemade pasta with sautéed zucchini and shrimp in a parmesan cheese sauce. Also tried the Gnocchetti Verdi. freshly made potato gnocchi in pesto sauce with shrimp. Finally, for dessert, the cannoli and tiramisu. The favorite being the cannoli. Highly recommend! You will not be dissapointed!

This is a cozy well decorated restaurant that is in a small street mall in Hallandale Beach Blvd. near Biscayne Blvd. They have been opened for 2 months and do not have the traffic they wish… we actually went in for lunch this afternoon and decided to give them a try… well, what a surprise! this is the real deal… husband in the kitchen and wife taking care of the rest…(love it!!) the place is clean, well decorated and outside seating is also available… food… this is where it gets even more interesting… we had 2 salads, one cappers which was normal good and a squid and greens salad… this one was VERY good! squid grilled to perfection to have the crunchy taste, but not over done! the bread is also quite good. warm and crusty as well. as for Pasta, they have all the pasta homemade… I ordered the black ink with squid and shrimp… VERY good… maybe tell Angela to ask Luigi to spice up just a tad the pasta… it will bring some more life to it! all the food was very delicate and FRESH! Well balanced… my partners had the special of the day(a pasta with fish that was also very tasty!)… service was again above average with Angela and hope they have enough traffic to hire more people to help them… for the moment with both of them, it’s great! enjoy…
